I’m using green crabs cut in half. Here is a rigging video: Rhode Island Tautog | How to hold a Tautog | Bait Prep | Terminal overview ruclips.net/video/b3yOJWIWA58/видео.html
The tide is the strongest during the new and full moon phase. The amount of lead I use is based off tide phase, depth and sea state. So during say a full moon fishing 60 ft deep, I may need 8 oz. or more. If I had to pick a number I would say 4-6 oz is typically what I use in 30-60 ft of water.
I see my home port in the background. You are in a good spot!
