SGA played pretty bad against Serbia in the semi finals. The serbian guard Aleksa Avramovic who comes of the bench, played great defence on shai and the rest of the canada team. He had 4 steals in the game against Lithuania. 5. Latvia was my favorite team to watch in this world cup, even if they came in 5th place. The reason why is they played hard every single possession. They were fantastic defensively. Honestly I think Latvia would have also won over team USA, just like Lithuania and Germany. Dennis Schröder got outplayed by Arturs Zagars who is 21 years old. The United States are always gonna have the best players. They had fundamental flaws that were exploited by Germany (champions) and Lithuania (perennial contender in any international competition). And the team they sent is pretty much on par with Canada, maybe even giving up something on defense. None of their losses should be considered surprising. And that includes on reputation.
Team USA is not to be compared to that distant memory called the "Dream Team"........if you have a team of Europeans playing in the NBA competing a team of Americans playing in the NBA it would be the Europeans 9 out of 10 times winning the game in today's game......
Arguably 4 out of the top 5 players right now are not Americans, No matter how you count it, Joker, Giannis, Luka, and Embiid are in most people's top 5 and they are all foreigners.
I honestly think it’s disrespectful to compare the dream team to todays USA team because the dream team got it done this years team only best player was Anthony Edwards
@jaysouthmusic8230 few top players will risk injury in their NBA off season for a FIBA title that means nearly nothing to a US born, NBA star making $35-60mil a year that's trying to win an NBA title. An Olympic gold medal is a different story though...to the point that the NBA will change their schedule around it
All those team usa players making crazy money, this tournament should be an example of how bad contracts are with mid type players receiving elite status money. The NBA needs to find a way to put this into perspective. I like brunson and some others, but theyre overpaid.
Oh please Canada needed an overtime to beat a Team USA without 3 main guys, Jaren Jackson, Banchero and Ingram. They were playing with 8 players ffs. Tell things how they are
I mean if you look at it, team USA had a lot of blue collar guys. Besides Ant, their high level recruits coming out of high school and into the nba, weren't even the main guys on this team. Sure, you got a few all stars in here but it just wasn't the right mix. I mean having Reaves better than Ingram is just how things went down. No one really stepped up for team usa. For canada, SGA was consistent and brooks just got better and better.
Lol 😂 this ain’t the 80s or 90s no more nobody is scared of American basketball no more…Dillon brooks is dropping almost 40 on u guys head..sga is better than any player on that USA roster
More sports media stupid talk. Its not about superstars!!! Its about playing the right way! NBA players and coaches think its all about jacking up 3's so if they go in you win if they don't you lose. Its simple. USA needs to get back to learning how to play the complete game. teach the youth how to play basketball instead of shooting half court shots
They need to go back to the system where they ask players for a 3 year commitment. Building cohesion is there biggest problem. This year's team was severely flawed, but give them more time to play with each other they would dominate. It would be great to have more stars, but if they keep a team together they can do without stars. Look at Germany, Schroeder is a back up PG in the NBA, yet he was the MVP. You can't tell me Anthony Edwards couldn't do the same thing if he had time to build camraderie with his teammates.

They had fundamental flaws that were exploited by Germany (champions) and Lithuania (perennial contender in any international competition). And the team they sent is pretty much on par with Canada, maybe even giving up something on defense. None of their losses should be considered surprising. And that includes on reputation.
@DennisSchroder is the GOAT! 👑
It's feel weird to see Dillon Brook looks humble in the last of this video 😮
That's the real Brooks, once you put the red and white on, it's team first.
Dillion brooks> UsA
Noone wants to see an entire panel of women talki g mwns basketball
USA still had 6 guys who averaged at least 20 ppg last year, so don't give me that BS
I blame Steve Kerr for not even playing the big he did have on the team.
The Bronze matters take is spot on
It matters outside the U.S. It's Gold or go home.
@@thomascrowniii1693Nah, if you go home without any Medal, that's way worse.
@@CirilloRuca USA Don't care about bronze
@@cjfrm3658 Apparently they do since everyone is crapping on this team for losing to Canada in a BRONZE MEDAL game.
@@cjfrm3658im Germany we say: 4th gets the sheet medal
Marc Spears only person with sense of the respect factor
And if canada bring they A roster, everyone better watch out...
Dillon the destroyer❤
Respect brooks
Filipinos know how to appreciate a good player and a brilliant game
that was a lane violation btw. Should not have even counted
@@peterliang3696cool but majority players no matter how u slice it are American them losing is more political then US being bad at ball
I honestly think it’s disrespectful to compare the dream team to todays USA team because the dream team got it done this years team only best player was Anthony Edwards
A "team or Europeans" would be an all star team of nations. That's a terrible comparison.
@jaysouthmusic8230 few top players will risk injury in their NBA off season for a FIBA title that means nearly nothing to a US born, NBA star making $35-60mil a year that's trying to win an NBA title. An Olympic gold medal is a different story though...to the point that the NBA will change their schedule around it
He got 3s in his bag like that
All those team usa players making crazy money, this tournament should be an example of how bad contracts are with mid type players receiving elite status money. The NBA needs to find a way to put this into perspective. I like brunson and some others, but theyre overpaid.
Lmao brooks dropped 39 on y’all 😂,he isn’t a bad player though.
So they cover the game for bronze but not the final, Americans 🤡🤡🤡
Oh please Canada needed an overtime to beat a Team USA without 3 main guys, Jaren Jackson, Banchero and Ingram. They were playing with 8 players ffs. Tell things how they are
Where tf is nick fury ?? bring in the big guns not no fckin ms marvel and hawk girl
Ms Marvel isn't a joke, what are you talking about?
@@CirilloRuca yes she is a fckin kid who will get killed if she was around punisher or blade or wolverine or magneto
NBA IS FIXED😂
1:21 ohohohohohoh!!!
That's not an excuse, USA has a plethora of superstars at their disposal!!
Can’t wait to hear Spears grunt and breathe thru another segment.
Lol 😂 this ain’t the 80s or 90s no more nobody is scared of American basketball no more…Dillon brooks is dropping almost 40 on u guys head..sga is better than any player on that USA roster
Rest of world better enjoy it while you can - Bron and the rest of them boys will be in Paris and I have a feeling it’s gonna go down different
Yeah just like Bron said he would take part in the dunk contest?
Low key glad we lost instead of a stain of a bronze
Turner and lopez were played off the court in the olympics
I mean what did you expect when your best player is Ant Edwards and you got Austin Reaves on the team
AR15 did great job...
@@nikolayjerev9285the AR hate is just laughable at this point
@@nikolayjerev9285 still doesn't mean that he should have been on the team if we are actually recruiting the best US players...
@@lg3385 Is he one of the best 20 american born players in the NBA? Your answer to the question will solidify my entire point
@@GappyHilmore18 ofc he should be on the team, didn't you watch the playoffs?? 56% from 3 pt?!?!! Solidify this.
Ant, Tyrese and JJJ were allstars this year
Thanks for covering - seems like all the other American media outlets are quiet today - ones that had been reporting on FIBA up until today
Yup. But if LeBron had unfollowed someone, it’d be the lead
Funny that all the buckets were given, Austin Reeves was guarding them 🤔
and bball it is not even the worlds sport. basketball is almost US only, still we got it done and defeated them twice with TEAM. Talent takes you only so far, it is about chemistry and togetherness (exactly, what is going wrong in the US and the world full of individuals)
This feels like ordering ESPN line-up from Wish.
USA's Z-team eliminated. Not surprised
usa didnt want to be in a podium 3rd place,,, or part of any list in this fiba since losing to l...
God help 🇺🇸 team to redeem themselves in OT and they still lost 😂
Dillon brooks ❤❤❤
I’m glad Malika didn’t report Brooks was caught stealing a magazine in grade 6 from a convenience store
love how espn has a video about the bronce metal match but not the actual finals just because the usa was not in it. :D the americans are hilarious
Uh duh we don’t know most of the players on them other teams,ESPN is an American network and we are an American audience
yea, but still, you would think that they would be interested in the actual world cup finals of the sport that they love, even if they don't know all the players.@@NoSpinster0909
But team U.S.A. had all stars
Dillion the villain 🦹♂️!
Ros-Gold and Marc telling it like it is: Team USA came away empty handed precisely because they didn't respect the competition/the FIBA World Cup.
Dont ever compare yaself to kobe again dillon smh
LeBron, KD, Curry have to play for team USA next year. Dame, Tatum, Butler. Bring everyone.
Shame on USA IF JORDAN WAS PLAYING THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED SAY NO MORE.
