Cold frosty morning. Lakenheath first. Grabbed a bacon butty from Dave. Noticed C5 diverted into Mildenhall as Rammstein was snowed in. Dashed across to Mildenhall just in time to see it land. Stayed to see C17 & tanker departures. Had pleasure of conversation with Mildenhalls RAF Station Commander. He saw us out in the cold and thought we were pretty dedicated so came across for a chat. Nice gesture. Then back to Lakenheath just in time to see F15's and Hawks launch. Good day...but cold.
if you only knew the "drunk" civ's, doing maintenance on these aircraft. It's all because they are truly treated like the lowest rung on the ladder, yet perform magic, with all of the ancient tools, "overthinking", "overmanagement", and everything against the "family structure"! Yet we make every repair, every time, with NO RECOGNITION!

I never get over the size of the C5
