You do realize that it was about as likely as not that it never happened, right? It's a comedy routine. You'd almost certainly have to pay to take a non jumping rider up, as well, and it's not cheap. And a large portion of the story is obviously nonsense, from a reality standpoint.
@@MrJdsenior I run the podcast that he is on and it's definitely a true story it happened in Long Island. They have people that film people's first jumps.

I can relate to the story because I was told my breast were almost too big when I did a tandem jump; straps and safety issues. Guy glued to me had me roll forward. My video us super embarrassing. I enjoyed reminiscing abd laughed hard iver your account of the experience.

Phew! I've been debating for decades whether to try a jump or not....literally the first time I got the notion I was young enough for my mother to forbid me to do so! I am now 72 years old and now I know I can't jump....I'm too fat! Reprieve! 😂😂😅😅

There's simulated places you can try... you never have to leave the ground. Albeit, it costs just as much for them to run a fan for you to experience it. Albeit, most indoor skydiving places got weight limits too but some move the cheesier route with adding a harness with a crane... not sure, what exactly that entails.
I've done a couple jumps among other things... didn't want to be one of Jerry's kids, so went full fledged the other direction. Now the very thought of it makes me nauseated, mostly it's the diving part is easy but that slow descent is too much. Always hated hot air balloons because of that... Now you could probably go on a hot air balloon ride, experience the bit that most people want to experience... but there's not enough space to cower in the basket and scream for somebody to get you down.
@@calicokush 😂😂"A harness with a crane" sounds more like a construction site! I have considered a hot air balloon but I must admit I have a seriously low boredom threshold - I did a glider flight once and for a little while it was fun riding the up and down air drafts but then I was done - I'm sure if one is in control of the glider the ability to catch the air drafts makes it much more fun than just being a passenger.
I'm pretty sure the fact I closed my eyes as we were approaching the exit of the plane was the only reason I was even able to jump. I barely managed not to chicken out at the last second.
I was laughing so hard I got this weird cramp in my jaw...totally worth it!

@MyMusic-cd3do Different parachutes. Cargo parachutes are obviously much bigger, and they use more when they drop cargo, but they are also more permeable. They are woven less tightly, allowing air to pass through while still slowing the rate of descent. They are like that because you want cargo (or jumpers doing a mass exit) to come more or less straight down, not drift away with the wind.
Skydiving parachutes are woven much more tightly and built to essentially be a giant wing, giving the parachutist more control. If the jumpers are too heavy, they can shred the parachute or break lines.

Hah! I passed out when I jumped too 😂 I was so stoked to do it, but dtull scared AF, so I sucked in and tightened the straps even more....not smart.....so when the parachute deployed everything was so tight I couldn't easily breathe lol 😅 I remember hearing "lift your legs up!" as we came to land but got em up a few inches and I faceplant to the ground 🙄 Coulda been worse!!!! Easily broken legs 😬 0_o

I tell people I’ve lost 210 lbs-it’s just the same 20 lbs, over and over again.
Funny stuff. i went skydiving once but went solo after a 6 hour training course. i worked midnights and got off at 8am and went straight to the place and started training. After 6 hours I jumped static line which saved my life as i basically blacked out from fear as i jumped out of the plane at 3200 ft. When the line pulled my chute open i woke up. It was great after that drifting down for about 5 minutes steering the chute like i was flying and I landed right on the mark with help from a 1 way radio mounted to helmet where the instructor guided me in. I knew Id never do it again and crashed hard from no sleep and adrenaline wearing off. I slept on the 2 hour car ride home. Been there done that so to speak.
