    You missed that you can roll the windows back up, and down, with the metal key in the door. If you hold the metal key in the drivers door lock, in the unlock position, it rolls the windows all down, and if you hold in the lock position, it rolls them all up. This happens with the sunroof as well. I disabled the sunroof from opening with this feature, since I don't open the roof up much.

      I've tried about 6 times and they didn't work.
      In Parking mode, after pushing the IGN twice, I tried holding down the Door Lock button, but door immediately locked because it was in UNLOCK position but I didn't hear anything afterwards for 10 seconds. So I repeated this but this time I tried the Door UNLOCK side, and door UNLOCKed immediately, but no other sound occurred after that.
      So I tried 2 more times, but didn't work.
      In Neural mode, when I push the IGN button for the second time, it didn't go into the same mode as Parking mode, but rather just turned off the car. I tried this second time, but same.

    How make side mirrors folding auto ?

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  Год назад

      If you open the switch compartment left of the steering wheel, there is a auto-folding switch. The icon picture looks like a side-mirror with left-pointing arrow (indicating folding).
      You have to set this ON or OFF while the engine switch is in "ACC" or "IG-ON" mode. Simply start the car to turn this on or off.
      But note that, this car has problem of plastic gear on the side mirrors go bad, so if you turn this feature on, you'll wear out the plastic gear quicker and one day it may not work. So I keep mine turned off. This is documented in the "Folding rear view mirror" section in the owner manual. If you don't have it handy, you can google for 2006 GS300 or 2007 GS350 "Owner's Manual" and find pdf doc. I downloaded it from web site that I can't recall now.

      First check if the noise still happens when you are parked and RPM rev-ed up to 2000.
      If the noise doesn’t happen in parked position, then it’s something outside of the engine.
      If noise does happen, check the surrounding to see if anything is loose and causing vibration noise. For example, it can be water pump, AC compressor, belt, etc. try to find the noise source.

    Interesting - my JDM 2008 GS460 will wind the windows up when I hold the lock button down. Also the key fob is a bit different than yours - no panic alarm - actually the boot release is in the position your panic alarm is in, with the key being blank where your boot release is. My doors auto-lock when I get to 20kph, and auto unlock when I shift into park. Actually didn't realise I could (supposedly) change this as I'd rather have it not auto lock at all, as where I live it's really unusual for cars to do this, and it therefore freaks passengers out when it happens. Update- as far as I can tell it doesn't work for me either.

      @@DIYLifeSkills I'm in New Zealand, my car came from Japan originally - I bought it almost straight off the boat - I got a great deal on it because it stank of cigar smoke - the importer knew they would struggle to sell it because it was so horrible smelling inside - but I knew I could sort it out with a lot of cleaning and an ozone generator - other than that it had 70,000KM on it immaculate condition and a full service history.

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  Год назад +1

      @@Beer_Dad1975 You are lucky that New Zealand also drive on left side like Japan. 70K KM means engine was barely broken in. Also in Japan, they get rid of the car quickly because the government testing and repair requirement makes them too expensive to keep a long time like US. And no one likes to buy used cars that are over 100K KM and most are sold to overseas. I would definitely buy some of the steering was in the right side. Also in Japan, there are two types of drivers, one that does all scheduled services at the dealer, and one that doesn’t do any maintenance until something fails. Some even never even change oil for 30-50K KM and then they sell the car. Also when you buy car in Japan, you have to show a proof of parking space, that’s validate by government. And due to parking expense and highway toll costs, average drive KM per year is far lower than their age. I watched lots of videos on Japanese car market and sometime thought about after I retire from my lucrative IT job, I may want to move to Asia and do exporting car business to other Asian countries.
      Also I also bought ozone cleaner and they work great in removing all sorts of smells from car, just have to be careful to air out the interior thoroughly as ozone unstable with 3 oxygen bonds and one oxygen likes to break off and attach to our lung cells. This volatility is the exact reason how it can bond to the smelling agent molecules and float them into the air. Though I’m a smoker I rarely smoke in the car but it still leaves smoking smell that I even can smell. So I use ozone cleaner couple times a year and made a video on it.

      @@DIYLifeSkills Yup it is quite good being able to pick up used imports - but you do have to know what you are looking for, for sure as you say, some of them have never seen a proper service or have undeclared accident damage - even rolled back odometers though that is less common now. Many years ago when looking for a car for my wife I test drove a Toyota Voltz with less than 40,000km on the clock - the engine was sludged, low oil pressure light was coming on constantly, and it had a horrible death rattle. Needless to say we passed on that one!
      Disadvantages are the JDM cars are all speed limited to 190km/h and the cruise control won't go over 110km/h - but then New Zealand Police are obsessed with handing out speeding tickets & you are up for a court appearance if you are doing more than 40km/h over the speed limit so it's probably a good thing.
      Aside from de-smoking the interior, I had to get the ICE system changed over to English, which was a few hundred dollars - I just pulled the hard drive out of the back of it, posted it off, and they posted it back a couple of days later all updated - also installed a band expander as Japanese radios only go up to 90FM. Other than that I just did all the fluids including the trans, replaced the tyres with some Michelin PS4s and I was all set for under $16,000 NZD - bargain IMO. Since then I've done a few other things like replace the brake rotors and spark plugs, but it's been hassle free for over 2 years now.
