I know Scott gets made fun of sometimes for all the hand movements but I like it and part of why I like watching him sing.

Great reaction!! Kevin does sing BV's when not actively beatboxing, but because the camera isn't on him much, it's not always noticed. Speaking of Kevin and his talents, you should check out some PTX videos when he's playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time: Say Something, Papaoutai, Over The River, Perfect and Shallow.
Also, Kevin has his own YT channel where he loops his beatboxing, singing cello and keyboard...and basically becomes a one-man-band. Plus...there's Kevin's Fifth...his adaptation of Beethoven's Fifth and he generally does it on tour with the group. It gives the rest of the group a bit or a break while he does his piece and it's now a fave with the audience. All worth checking out!!

I've no idea how Kevin makes those sounds; I can't beatbox. But I can tell you one thing: You know that one of the ways Pentatonix cares for their voices is to drink a lot of water? One result of drinking a lot of water is a frequent need to burp, and I saw one interview where Kevin explained that he's figured out ways to incorporate burps into his beatboxing. (Kirstin gave him a dirty look. 😉)
Someday when you're watching a video where they're seated and the camera shows all five of them, watch Kevin. He has a whole invisible drum kit. He'll reach out with an invisible drum stick and hit, say, an invisible tom, and you'll hear the tom. It quickly becomes surreal. One of the things I like most about Kevin is that he can make me see the instruments that aren't there.

Actually, Scott is using a very low voice for this song. He is a baritone. Kevin O-LOOSH-uh luh. Kevin is of Nigerian descent. You pronounced Matt Sallee's name properly. Not many do. Good job! I just subbed.

Kevin is a man of many talents. He speaks 6 languages, played the saxophone and cello in Carnagie Hall as a teenager, arranges and writes music and was accepted in Yale to study medicine after passing the entry exam. A kind, pious and supportive man.

    I always say
    S&G = A Warning
Disturbed = You Didn't listen now see what happened
PTX = There is still hope

Also Pentatonix on the masked singer, all performances, will blow you away. They are, of course, in costume, but from the first notes I know who they were. Of course I have been with them since the “Sing off” so that wasn’t surprising. Their body language also gave them away, they cannot sing without moving and even in limited movement costumes and with instruments you would know them. Their songs were so diverse on the show….They were amazing. A must see! 👍🏻

Scott is a lyric baritone. His range starts somewhere around the middle of a normal bass range and extends upward to the high end of a normal tenor range.

Kirstin may have been a mezzo soprano once, but at this point that's a wildly inaccurate description of her voice.
Mezxo is the lowest soprano range, just above alto. Kirstin sings everything from low alto through coloratura soprano, the highest female range, and she has fantastic whistle notes on top of that. At this point Pentatonix describes Kirstin as an “alto soprano.”
If you want to hear Kirstin belting out the high notes I recommend the live performance of “Seasons of Love” that they filmed for a PBS Fourth of July special: ruclips.net/video/qO01TIVX3SM/видео.htmlsi=6rvdSc5ziFJgkMXW

I have some suggestions for you. Try Dimash Qudaibergen (7 octave range), Home Free (A capella group) and a group called Dirty Loops (from Sweden, Cakra Khan from Indonesia and Peter Hollens.

A few other a cappella groups to consider if you are interested (some of them have been around for a VERY long time, pre-date PTX by quite a few years), that I don't think I heard you mention: Chanticleer, Straight No Chaser, Voctave, Voces8, and Take 6. Scott Hoying from Pentatonix was also involved in starting an all female group called Citizen Queen. They started out as a cappella, but use more instrument backing in some of their more recent music. Another group that Scott was involved in starting was Acapop! KIDS, but I'm not sure if they are still an active group.

CHECK OUT “NATURALLY 7” THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE ASWELL!! & I gotta say I love the respect you show to a cappella groups and how hard they have to work to be able to work aswell as PTX does and how hard it is to make each groups arrangements unique!! I absolutely love that & im like that too! I’m also a musician 🙂 God Bless ♥️

New subscriber here. If you're interested in checking out an all female A Capella group, I'd highly recommend Citizen Queen. This group was actually put together by Scott. Evolution of girl Groups is my favorite video from them. Can't wait to see more from your page!😁💜

Agree on modern acapella. I would buy tickets to see ptx, homefree or voiceplay live.
But you should check out Postmodern jukebox. Scott bradlee only does vintage covers of iconic songs and always shines the lead singers.
Haley reinhart 7 nation army or creep is a revelation of what going to see ella Fitzgerald live in a speakeasy was like.

Other a cappella groups. Let's see. Voctave. Citizen Queen. Acapop! KIDS. That last one was started by members of Pentatonix as a way to get youngsters into a cappella music; as the members age out I believe we're going to start seeing a lot more good adult a cappella groups being started by them.

Gabriel Henrique….he is on RUclips, he is from Brazil, he was just on AGT, USA version and he is quite remarkable. Another one of those once in a lifetime voices and I will let you discover why I would say that? 😊 Plus you will get a whole bunch of new people to your channel, you will make a whole bunch of Brazilian’s happy because they are very proud of their man, and rightly so!! Anybody that reacts to him is never, ever disappointed. Surprised, yes, disappointed, never. Love PTX but the way. I just had to plug Gabriel! 👍🏻

If you want to hear a gifted male voice, listen to Dimash from Kazakhstan.

  • @coleensakamoto6844

I encourage you to react to another unique male voice. It belongs to a young man (28) from Brazil named Gabriel Henrique. Some songs to choose from would be "I Have Nothing" (Whitney Houston cover), "Earth Song" (Michael Jackson cover), "And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going" (Jennifer Hudson & Jennifer Holiday cover), and many more. He can also bounce around from octave to octave.
Oh, and not to worry. Mitch Grassi is not offended by people thinking he's a female when they first hear his beautiful voice.
    Enjoyed your reaction!

  • @CaptainMarvelsSon

As unbelievable as Mitch's high range is, there is an a capella group that I used it listen to, Vocal Union, who sing Christian songs. Back then, at least, they had a voice (whose name I never knew) that rivaled Mitch's. He easy hit notes as high as Mitch can, and in falsetto hit notes that were almost inaudible, I loved his voice, so in a way Match is more a reminder of that guy.

Adams apple placement . His is higher which helps his range. Massages your next see what happens

Wait... you want rap?? Check out Pentatonix's version of Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us" and Ariana Grande's "Problem". You want punk? They won their first Grammy for "Daft Punk." ALSO - you mentioned jumping octaves....... check out "Gold", a cover of Kiiara - BUT if you're not already familiar with the original version, check out about 30 seconds of Kiiara's version FIRST. THEN watch the PTX version. Keep reacting - there is NOTHING this group cannot do!
