I love Angels Have We Have Heard on High from the Live - I don't think I've ever seen a rap verse thrown into a Christmas carol that was actually successful aside from that one. I know Colton Dixon and Tommee Profitt have done a couple of collaborations, "I Am Legend" might be my favorite. Regarding how big the production is, I believe it was a 100 voice choir and 60 piece orchestra. He's done the concert every Christmas since this version was done. This show was at the performing arts center at Belmont University, but then they went to the Grand Ole Opry for two years, and next year they're going to do the show at Bridgestone Arena. The setup here with the orchestra and large choir reminds me of a number of large church productions I've seen over the years. I've been to a few churches that had that many people on stage every Sunday, although the musicianship here is next level (as you would expect). One church thought that has been putting together annual events that come pretty close to rivaling this one in caliber (though maybe not epicness, doubt anyone can get close to Tommee) is this church in Romania - BBSO (Biserica Baptista Speranta Oradea - Hope Baptist Church Oradea). A lot of it is American worship music sung in Romanian but it's done incredibly well. You should check out their videos for "Maret Dumenzeu" "Sfant Esti Doamne" and "Cantecul Placut". If you think this video had a large choir, wait till you see those!

This is one of the few videos with both Chris Rupp (the beatboxer's brother & co-founder of Home Free) and Adam Chance (who took Chris's place when he went solo). The others are "House Party" and "White Christmas".. Chris makes a cameo in "It Looks Good" and in a recent video with Adam Bastien (who took Austin's place when he recently left the band).

I'm not sure if Nate wrote these English lyrics or someone else did, but I can tell you that the lyrics are trying to be a combination of faithful to the original and changed slightly to fit the English meter/rhymes.

I could not agree with you more about how much they have evolved. However, this performance was released on Nob. 12, 2012, literally the first Christmas carol they had every performed. So this skilled performance was still from baby PTX.

I love this arrangement, but I do understand what you're saying. Many people have very strong feelings about Christmas music and how it should be performed, and I appreciate your having the courage to state your opinion. It was fair--you didn't say it wasn't well done, that it wasn't good music, that PTX shouldn't have done it. You said that this is not the way you prefer to hear Christmas carols sung. Personally, I have never found this carol to be boring, no matter how it is arranged and performed! Have a great Christmas.

I have never knocked anyone’s reaction to PTX but this was horrible. You spoke over many parts you should have reacted to.
