@@dombardelli3269 look into it first, but I think disconnecting your battery for a few minutes will cause the ecu to reset and take new readings when you restart the car again.
Your maf is too close to the cone. It’s causing turbulence in the maf sensor giving you a lean code. Try putting the maf farther away from the cone. Ittl fix it.
Well explained video I would love doing this on my 07 jetta, but I got a bit confused about cutting at the beginning. Do you think you could explain slower with detail?
Yes, so with the stock hose, your gonna wanna cut at an angle after the PCV and SAI hoses, then just slip a coupler on. You connect that to the elbow. The cut does not have to be perfect by any means, the coupler seals it up. I cut mine with a kitchen knife it was ass but it works
Thanks I appreciate that and Hell yeah man, why spend 300 on something you can make for less than $50, and I’m sure it’s almost just as good as the real deal.
Did u have any issues with any - lights coming on due to the maf sensor or any other issues with any lights coming on or anything like that please get back to me soon as possible I would greatly appreciate it
how is the car running now that you made your own intake. Any issues. I cant see spending stupid amounts of money for what these company want, for some plastic and aluminum tube.
Kind of. He has a MAF. 2008+ have a MAP which is just the MAF and the intake temp sensor combined. But it’s the same just have the MAP how he has the MAF
It depends what code it is though, are you pulling a p1017 code? It couldn’t possibly have something to do with it, yes. If there are any leaks as well Ittl throw a code. It’s almost always the p1017 code
@@conscienceyt3494 you need to make an intake for it ASAP. And you need to make sure you have the MAF/MAP wire still if not it’s always gonna run like shit man, send a pic on Instagram
P1017 system too lean. The maf is too close to the intake cone causing turbulence in the maf. Make the intake longer. Get the maf farther away from the intake cone and you’ll be fine.
@Zenosynes did you end up making your intake longer due to this code? I did the same exact intake and getting the same lean code so wondering how to make the intake longer
@MilRom9 yes ended up making it longer taking it down to the bottom of that side. Just have to get a filter cover that’s water resistant and be careful not to flood it in big puddles
Tysm u saved me so much money did this to my 09 jetta with a MAP sensor. At 4000 rpm it sucks air like a turbo lol
No problem man glad I could help
So you did all of this but with a different sensor?
I did this exact same air intake. Worked very well! Thanks man!!
Just did this today, was pretty straight forward and sounds pretty cool around 4k rpms
Did u get an engine light?
@@Eramaph nah nothing sometimes my car stalls tho I think my maf is dirty
@@dombardelli3269 is it stalling after u fill the tank?
@@Eramaph its defenitely not dirty, those are the consequences of puting a cold air intake without reprograming the ECU...

I paid money for my Injen but I swear something about that perfect intake my 2.5 hauls balls.
So i made the exact same setup with the exact same part. Now i have a lean code and MAF code. Everythings tight. Cleaned the sensor. Pretty mad.

Currently upgrading my baby Jetta before I get an f80 lol
So that boot connected to the throttle body with the 2 hoses you can just hook up mini air filters to them?
By any chance does anyone have links to build and buy? I got the 2.5 08 with maf sensor
Lmfao the maf sensor wire 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
If it works it works. Haven’t had a single issue. Since then I have gotten a different intake.

Like everything except get the filter out of the hot hood area. Infrount of driver side wheel behind the drivers wheel.
Aye bro I did this exact intake today but it pushed a engine light could it be just because of the sensor?
Does mass air flow have to be that close to filter .. I was thinking of doing down towards the fender well
Did your mass air sensor trip a code after????
Did leaving the intake temp sensor disconnect throw a check engine light
@@william27340 ty
I got an initial light so I connected to the sensor and now I got a P0171 light for too much air so idek where to put the air intake sensor anymore
And dude doesn’t respond so
so that extra plug I don't have on my '08 is cause I got the newer sensor, so should be easy right?💯
shot you a add on snap, def gonna make a video for the '08+ guys
Yes correct, it shouldn’t be much different than the 07s I just know they have the MAP sensor and I don’t think it has the air intake temp sensor.
@@Zenosynes I have an 09 theres a Temp sensor in the MAP
how did you attach the maf sensor to the air filter?
I was wondering the same thing
Correct!
Did you get a P0171? I had the intake air temp sensor tied to my grill and I had that pop up
