Jessica was literally spending her OWN money for work clothes - shows, appearances, interviews. Nick gets thousand dollar arcade games, the hummer, golf memberships, sports memorabilia, and you never once see her nag him. She encourages him!!

True but the Hummer was part of a promotional deal. Artists made an awards appearance and they got to drive a General Motors vehicle of their choice and Nick chose the Hummer.

Well I spend close to 2000$ on frette sheets in 2019 and I don’t regret buying them cause the quality is amazing and incomparable and I think spending on quality bedding is a good investment as long as you don’t ruin them. I buy 7 sets of bedding every 2 to 4 years, I still keep using the old ones in between.

Nah, bed sheets are bed sheets. You can get really nice ones for under $100. Those arcade games are usually extremely valuable, and have resale value. The value only tends to go up, so he could definitely get his money back if he needed to.

He asked her in one episode if he could buy a Hummer. Those things are gas guzzlers and expensive AF. He drove a Benz, and had expensive taste too. You should see his home now. His new wife has just as much Louis Vuitton as Jessica if not more. He was always acting like he was cheap but he liked to spend money just as much.

From what I can gather, Nick and his brother grew up doing chores, they were taught the value of money, to live within their meams, to cook , do laundry, etc. Jessica had zero responsibility. Her mom did every thing for her. Thats why as an adult she's so unprepared on her own and for married life. Yes, she became successful at singing but she for the longest time was not being successful at some of the most basic things an adult should know how to do.
That s why they clash alot over stuff.
I always laugh at this part where Jess says she doesn't sleep good on the sheets she has now - That's just what I would have said when I was in trouble for spending too much money - now I just lie and say everything was less money that it was.

I don't think Nick was necessarily mean toward Jessica; I think he expected too much of her, knowing how she was raised and that she was immature for her age to begin with. All the same, I think they did love each other, and eventually grew apart. Their age gap (7 years) and opposite upbringings might have had a hand in it too. And let's not forget Dadager Joe. He did NOT want them to marry in the first place.

not that 7 years is a huge age gap but when youre 18 and the guy is 25 and you marry at 22 and hes 29 then yeah it makes a difference because of where you are in life; a 30 year old and 37 year old - fine.
Remember they couldn’t even live together beforehand because she was saving herself, plus her age, plus she was working all those years and didnt know one single thing about keeping house. Had they lived together before marriage it could have prepared her. I definitely think the producers wanted drama and amped up the differences between them too. She was so young and green, seems like a totally different person now.

Her mom was also a manager for her and her husband was an EP on the show. They purposely shot and aired the names of the shops she was in these particular days. The discount was probably prearranged and mom was making sure it was applied. This sort of thing happens all the time, in business.
When I was 22 I didn't know how to do anything either.... I do now though. Sometimes it just takes people a lil longer. My mom stayed home and always wanted to do everything for me. And now I'm a mom. Lol

I was only 18 years old when I married my husband he was 25 it took a lot of patience and love from him towards me to know that I was still a kid taking on a huge roll. 8 Year’s later I’ve learned ALOT and still is...nick was just mean towards Jessica I feel bad for her. In a perfect world, he would have complemented her innocence with his experience. He could have SHOWED her how to use the washer. He could have SHOWED her how to cook certain things. He KNEW she was coming straight out of her daddy's home. How did he expect her to automatically know everything?? She spent the last few years making her singing career a reality - that didn't leave a lot of time for a home ec lesson! I didn't know how to use a washing machine when I first moved in with my now-husband, and how, I do all the laundry and the cooking (which I actually enjoy!). Things can be learned.
