* Reverse engineering. Eldad Eliam wrote an excellent book, called "Reversing: Secrets of Reverse Engineers." I highly recommend it. * Binary exploitation. John Erickson's "Hacking: The Art of Exploitation" is an awesome book. Read it. Get familiar with the C and assembly languages, and learn how the processor and operating system works. (Essential Linux Device Drivers by Sreekrishnan Venkateswaran is good for systems). Then, you'll be good.
I'm a beginner programmer, with a really low skill set in java programming. This competition looks really cool though, what are some things I should look at if I ever wanted to try this? ty
