- Hi Friends, This video was a challenge to say the least lol. Today I will be walking you through the process of how I did my own tape in hair extensions at home for the first time ever. It was a lot harder than I expected but it was also easier than I expected. I created undetectable tape in extensions on natural hair 4c hair and this is how it turned out......

This video confirms everything I discovered about doing my tape-in extensions. My first time wearing them was July 2021. I leave them in for 2 to 3 months, take them out to deep condition (make it rain by TPH), use my scalp (sweet & salty by TPH) and shampoo (moisturizing) milk shampoo by Muzani. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE wearing my hair like this. It’s like wearing a wig without the wig. If you know what I mean. THANKS FOR SHARING 🥰

@@TheRealTiffanyLacole ABSOLUTELY!!! My hair is not only longer but thicker. I’m able to wear it curly, curled or straight. And keep my scalp moisturized too. I trim my end when I take the tape-ins out (2 to 3 months; depending on growth). I use less hair too. I only wear the extensions in the back and 2 sets around my ears. My beautician was amazed at how well my hair is doing too.
A year ago when I started wearing them my hair was super thin. It was so thin that I just wore my hair in its natural curly state.
@@ameliaokiyi6629 no ma’am. The damage only comes based on how I take care of my hair (or the lack there of) and how rough I am taking out the tape-ins. I use C-22 Solvent to remove them. It works fast and is gentle on my hair. It’s super oily (which helps remove the tape fast). However, I will say when I comb out my hair to make sure I’ve gotten all the tape out, I have to be extra gentle because it’s possible to damage the hair. I hope this helps. Because I’ve been wearing tape-ins for a year this month. And my hair has thickened and lengthened so much that I wear my hair straight, curled and naturally curly.

If the tapings come off so easy and she can pull them off how do they last when you can comb your hair and it'll probably pull right off in a comb.

You did a beautiful job! I recently had microlinks installed, but the install wasn’t as thick as I wanted since I have a VERY small head. I ended up installing some tape ins on the sides and in the back. It’s definitely doable at home, but you absolutely have to take your time and pack your patience!

See this is what i.needed to.see...i.tried.doing my own a.few months ago and while they looked great down the ponytail just wasn't working out and I caused tension sores from my parts not being clean enough...definitely plan to.try again

I've had tape in installed less than 1 week ago. They're already slipping and several have come out. Although the style looks cute, I'm a bit frustrated because it costs alot. I was expecting to have this installed for at least 4 weeks. I don't think they'll last that long.
What products did you or your stylist use on your natural hair before applying the tape in extensions?
So how do you oil your scalp (to prevent dryness) if you have a tape in? My hair is dry and gets flaky a few days after washing even if I oiled it.

Check out my channel, I’ve already done my wash day update with tapeins…. I’m not sure how many grams but I purchased 6 bundles of tape ins and it came with 20 tapes per bundles and I used 5…. About 90 tapes
I have dandruff and I need a wash on a weekly basis and deep conditioning of my scalp, but I want tape in extensions too. I’m just skeptical of the maintenance of my scalp and tape ins
You can wash your hair once a week if you need to! I’d recommend using a hydrating shampoo on your scalp like I did.
how do u blow dry this out for a silk press? like if i wash my hair and its curly, how do you get close enough to the roots to blow dry straight if the tape is in the way?

Why did you decide to use the deep curly vs the yaki straight? Does curly hair match better?
My husband does mine he do a better job then a professional stylist they charge way to much for something so easy done . But you did a good job

Okay looks great but what about as soon as it gets wet and shrinks back to really short?
How long do they last I have to wash my hair every 5 and these roots do I have to remove and reapply everytime?
I kept mine in for 9 weeks! They can last between 6-12 weeks. You wash them while they are in your head you don’t have to take them out to wash! I have an entire video on my channel all about washing my tape ins… check it out… don’t forget to subscribe 🥰

Heyy, I already have keratin tip extensions and I’m trying to convert them into tape ins using the tapes on Amazon. Is that even possible? I’m tired of installing the keratin tips one by one 😩 thankksss
Hey, honestly I’ve never tried it but it sounds like you’ll just put the tip extensions onto some tape right? I think it can be done but i don’t think it’ll be worth it. You’ll probably experience lots of shedding and slippage. To avoid the hassle your best bet is to just purchase some actual tape in extensions from Amazon

No I don’t think this is an alternative for protective style because you are putting heat on your hair and your hair is out. A protective style is made to put your hair away this style does the opposite. ❤️ make sure you subscribe 🥰

I have a question would heat protectant be bad for the stickiness and effectiveness of the tape if I need to straighten my hair to do these?
As long as the heat protectant is an oil based I don’t see the problem I would just recommend not putting the heat protectant on the scalp or close to the root of the hair other than that you should be fine. make sure you subscribe 🥰

I'd love to do this myself but I'm scared my natural hair will revert back to its curly texture and I don't want to overuse heat. When you do a silk press, how long does it normally last you? Also on the website, how many bundles come with an order and how many bundles total did you use?
I only only silk press when I wash my hair. I do not put heat in my hair at all other than the initial press. I wash my every every 2-3 weeks because my scalp gets really itchy so depending on your scalp and your hair you can wash it more or less than I do. Total I used about 90 tapes (you have to use 2 tapes per section) Also I bought 6 bundles and 20 tapes comes with 1 bundle.
What about removal? Whats that process like?
