Im not going to lie this was some of the best wheel feel Ive ever had. The cars feel so good. Sure theres not really any content but man this is such a promising future.
Absolutely, the cars feel amazing. I’ve seen so much moaning online, people hyped it up like it was the full release. You’re seeing a game that’s at least a year away from version 1.0, of course it’s rough around the edges.
@@DreamyNightz I wish that I could say the same. As many people I’ve tried everything to set my FFB up, to be on a decent stage. But for me it’s absolutely not working - in AC or ACC there weren’t this issues. And for me that’s a dealbreaker. If you’re not allowed to enjoy the feeling of this beautiful cars in a racing sim, then this is just a shame.
@@MrJojoringothat happened because the developers left the option to openly mod it by design. Otherwise we would had more limited modding or nothing at all.
@@MrJojoringoNo. AC took years. It wasn't till around v.1.14(5) that it stopped being 32bit only and one core processor. I use about 5 different sim programs and they all have 100s/1000s of mods.
The base game has nothing special about it at all. Certainly nothing other sims also do. It's the inclusion of Content manager that turns it into the sim racing worlds biggest fidget spinner, allowing you to curate the game to be exactly what you want it to be. Not having to deal with a dumb as F**k UI that all sims think you want, but having a reasonably complex one that allows you to tweak a thousand and one options and sits on your desktop without you having to have the game loaded and constantly Alt Tabbing back to your desktop is a bonus. And the ability to simply drag and drop cars/tracks onto CM to install/uninstall them is something the other sims lack (RF2 allows curation but it's a bit janky). There is something almost Pokemon like about AC/CM. Or if your older, a bit like collecting baseball/trading cards. The fact EVO doesn't let you curate the game, install mods or have anything other than a dumb af UI shows that Kunos don't really understand what made AC the number one sim (ACC showed a similar lack of understanding). And frankly, any game that makes you have to jump through hoops to earn cash/points in order to unlock cars is a definate no (GRID, Forza, Gran Turismo). Thats just not a sim. Sorry. Looks like i wont be buying this one (there is not a single car in this, so far, that i want to drive).
56 minutes. It took 56 minutes past the 3pm launch time for it to launch, and everyone acted like it was the end of the world. Less than an hour. The amount of tantrums i saw on the discord and elsewhere in that time was ridiculous. And you still have utter idiots complaining that it doesnt have all the content or free roam, because apparently they dont know what early access is. Its version 0.1.1. Its the first brick in the house.
Preach it, bro. It was crazy seeing all the hate for an early access game. Then everyone wonders why we can’t have nice things. The game has potential; just pray and hope they capitalize on it. But in the meantime, we get it for cheap, only have to pay once. Let’s enjoy what we have and learn the game so when the bigger stuff comes out, we will be one step ahead of the best. Cheers and hope to see you at the tracks!!!!
Fr tho, like they had only just begun pouring the concrete down on the ground to set up the foundation, and instead everyone acted like they were putting the roof on it. The amount of people that don't seem to understand that it's literally version 0.1 of an EARLY ACCESS BUILD is actually mad
I’m convinced that when the game has been fully released with DLC as well it will go down as one of the best racing games of all time. So much potential
@@TechOMan that’s not going anywhere unless you want og AC models. Gran Turismo 5 had the premium full interior models and padding the rest out with PS2 cars.
I think the physics and FFB is fantastic. Like really truly the most true to life I’ve felt. If only the servers worked and all the other issues. Like the black screen load ins with certain cars on certain tracks.
Honestly I think early access was a HUGE mistake. People don't understand what EA is, they pay the money and expect a full game, so they whine about it and will say Evo is crap.
@@bennyb.1742 honestly I agree too, they could've launched it as a 2 day beta or something, but even then it's a bad move, yes I'm excited and yes I wanna play now, the difference it's that I understand it's Early Access, hopefully the game doesn't turn bad because of the whining
I wouldn‘t bother too much. Most of those guys will tell us that all other sims are bad when kunos fixed most of the issues and when free roam is released.
i think they were just expecting what was promised in the early access which was not fulfilled due to server issue and most modes being locked behind online stuff for some odd reason
Confusing early acces with alpha is crazy. Some devs (including Kunos) think releasing an alpha build is the way to go. Other devs who get the idea give the players a good working slice and add to that over time
@@Bambeakz to quote Wikipedia: “Early access, also known as alpha access, alpha founding, paid alpha, or game preview, is a funding model in the video game industry by which consumers can purchase and play a game in the various pre-release development cycles, such as pre-alpha, alpha, and/or beta, while the developer is able to use those funds to continue further development on the game…”
@ I really don't care about Wikipedia even if it would say I am right. I have seen many good early acces games in my life and this is not what I want from an early acces game so I will always call an alpha build in early acces a bad experience
Not impressed by AC Evo right now, however, that nighttime and rain driving has piqued my interest. Looks super cool when it's just you and your lights. I can tell night touge will be cool.
VR has been a complete mess for me, on a high end system. Also For me no FFB on my Moza R9, even though it’s perfectly fine in titles like AC, LMU, iracing ect ect
ACE will never run well in VR is my prophecy. It's a DX12 game like Forza, why it looks like Forza and runs as poor as Forza. Also the physics feel like Forza to me, but when Forza launched, it was IMO more fun to drive and had lots of cars and a career mode. ACE doesn't have anything promised yet and 5 tracks with a bunch of cars just isn't enough in 2025, especially with this bad AI.
@@Sassannid VR performance will never run well. The engine isn't optimised for it and VR (and decent graphics performance )clearly hasn't been a priority for them during development. Shame
Simhub released and update to support EVO. That was impressive. VR is shockingly unoptomized. So I haven't even really done a single lap. I will wait for patches.
This is basically a "gift" for us, other developers keep everything internal until they have more "content" and they focus on content at first and then they fix the gameplay or physics, but the key thing that fans need to experience as soon as possible is the physics and gameplay, is the foundation, see last Test Drive. Enjoy the opportunity of playing it and being part of that test time for a game that it's going to be with us for years to come. Content it's going to come little by little and the game it's going to feel fresh all of the time. Obviously in a perfect world the game would be 100% from day 1, but that's not the norm this days, and kunos has a good record delivering quality content, so im positive about it.
@@toyotaman182 great idea 👍 … I only recently got LMU and run VR and very impressed. Looking at some older videos there is a lot of whinging about performance especially VR. So it’s worth $AU40 for the development experience imo and isn’t that half the fun 😊
This was wild to watch unfold live on a couple of other live streams! Edit: The "wipers on crack" and the S2k in the rain with the top down were the weirdest for me, all in good fun though!
4090 card and RS mega+ motion rig with Simhub. Simagic Alpha wheel and P2000 brakes. Game feels amazing once dialed in with Simhub and force feedback. Had to turn off most of the ffb settings in the game. Feels amazing now. Can run with max graphics on 4k flat without issue. For VR... Need to run graphics at low-medium and even then. Looks pretty good though..but nothing like ACC in VR on my Quest Pro. I'll stick to flat screen till they update the VR some. Motion and force feedback feels sooo good in this game. Mont Panorama is a blast in the Porsche.
@@dannygaron how did you get simhub to work? And how about motion? Cause i have a nlr motion platform and buttkicker, but none of both have presets yet. Realy missing the motion here.
I think it is realy cool that you preduced such a informative video that fast I enjoyed watching it pretty much and I am thankfull that I know were the game is in the production right now.
I use a Quest 3 and Vr was pretty bad. Everytime I moved my head left or right, it would cause massive artifacting/pixelating and was starting to give me a headache. I found that by running through Steam and then using Quest Link, it would appear as desktop in VR with a huge curved screen at least there was no glitching. Hopefully this is sorted soon as I don't want to have to keep moving my monitor to my rig or my rig to my monitor everytime I want to play in pancake mode. I do however really enjoy EVO and think that Kunos have done a great job with it so far given it's early access. It gives us a great opportunity to find the bugs so that they can iron them out and turn it into possibly one of the best sim racers out there.
Had some good fun day one, the Merc is a beast. Love the ability to adjust everything on track. Can't wait to get into the licenses and money, the progression is what makes a game for me. The AI are terrible, kind of expected it but I'm sure it will improve. 7/10 good start Kunos!
I think a bit too much damping is creating that ‘safe’ feeling I’m getting. I’ve also heard some complain about the FFB so it’s always going to be down to opinions!
I turned all the ingame damping settings to zero. Helped a bit. In Fanalabs I set [SPR] and [DPR] to zero. Helped a lot. Now feels somewhere between AC & ACC.
@@bodinski100 compared to what? Previous games? Trailer demos? A game will always look better in the trailers and demos because they will fine tune the settings accordingly to Their systems. If you don't have a beefy pc, expect things to not be smooth
@@bodinski100 thought it looked pretty good. performance could and should definitely be better, but visually i felt it looked great even at low settings.
@@leodjondo3489 Why can't people provide legitimate criticism for a game without somebody like you getting triggered? It's a game, not your boyfriend. You don't have to defend the honor of the game.
If you’re going to comment on pc performance, could you please give us your pc specs? It’s hard to judge where our framerate would be if we don’t know how much more or less powerful your pc is which makes giving framerate numbers not very useful.
I'm playing it with a 4070 super. With the preset of ultra I get a solid 60fps, but the GPU is only running at 70-80% with 20 cars on track. Dropping the settings to medium gains you barely any frames at all but will reduce the GPU load to 50%
I have a 3080 OC with 5700X3D. I played on high settings and FPS was well above 60. (Sorry I don't ga exact numbers) But when I did quick race with 14 other cars my FPS I'd say was around 45-75. My resolution is 1440P (Ultrawide)
@@benjo2946have exactly same specs - managed with tweaking to get it around 90-110fps in practice and 70-100 in race sessions (20 cars) so ok but still getting big (30fps) drops and stutters unless I reboot… some work to do
Thanks for the details, I got worried when I heard “beefy pc” and 60 fps lol. A lot of the time when RUclipsrs say they have a beefy pc it means they have a 4090 or something, but if he does I think he must be playing in 4k. I got the game, haven’t played much, but with the default number of other cars on mount panorama I’m getting 90-110 fps. Im playing at 1440p, fsr3 on the highest quality below native, with mostly medium/high settings. I have a 5800x and a 6900xt. I think this game is pretty cpu heavy because of the other cars and physics, so if dropping settings doesn’t help you, you may as well just run higher settings and hope they do some cpu optimisations. I’m getting a big freeze about every race which isn’t great though, not sure what’s causing that because otherwise the game is running pretty well.
@Bllksem I'm playing at 4k, I use a 55" monitor so sub that most games look washed. CPU never goes over 60% load, my GPU never goes over 80% load. I haven't had any stuttering or major frame drops as yet. Also I'm not using any frame generation, just native. It's early access so I wasn't expecting flawless performance. It runs ok but I think the car interior is quite flat, different materials are not really different from each other with lighting.
I tried it for about 30 minutes, it needs work, now im running it on a laptop and only was getting at max 38 fps(60 on the main menu), also the ui menus were pretty laggy and on any scroll menus the moment I started scrolling down id lose all frames
Totally....ive got slightly better than 'recomended' spec pc...and was getting 15-30 fps....on.very low 1080.....i get 120fps on maximum with pure and csp on AC... I'LL LEAVE IT FOR A FEW MONTHS AND give it another go....
@@bodinski100 Oh my god… i honestly felt really sad and i thought only my pc got some issue… :/ So ye I will wait too as on lower cards the performance is actually poor
Yeah... I solely drive in vr, and it basically has the same issues as acc, which is horrendous. Good thing AC is still fantastic and beautiful, ill stick with that for the moment. Hoping it gets better, it definitely has potential!
Yes, ACC is unplayable in VR but you really find that AC has decent VR? Never could get it to work anywhere near the level of AMS2. Which is why AC has been sitting in the Steam library without being used in months. Curious if you tried VR in AMS2 and can compare the two? Maybe I'm missing someting.

Sim racers are weak. Welcome to the world of Call of duty, Black ops, battlefield and all the other AAA first-person shooters. It's Early Access kiddos
I think the main problem is that they were basically promising licences academy and such Day 1 but they are not there, and that makes an absolutely positive early access feel like a tech demo
I played ACC from early access to the latest version. The amount of love and work put into it is incredible. Gamers nowadays are just kids that donate money to Kai Cenat and pay 90 bucks for a Fortnite skin but attack a 0.1 release instead of reporting bugs and providing constructive criticism.
6:08 In my opinion, I still find it a bit too grippy. It should be more slippery-in reality, during heavy rain, grip is 3-4 times weaker. If I turn off traction control, I should immediately start sliding when I apply full throttle, especially with rear-wheel drive.
Thanks for really nice summary. But one thing I consider to be very important and maybe "this is all about it" is missing: comparison between driving physics of ACC and EVO. What changed and how?
I had a pretty decent experience today but I will say your spot on about the AI being too slow and I had some weird blinking issues where the AI would just disappear especially when they were behind me
Car handling and force feedback is superb. And the paddle-shifter and the h-shifter works according to the car model (Ferrari: paddle shifter, Mazda: h-shifter for example). Graphics is glitchy and I also have a high-end machine (AMD RTX 7900 XT with 20GB VRAM). You can tell it is early access, but the most important part - driving - is great.
I couldn't have a race over 60fps, but in practice, I was able to get stable 80+ fps, and ffb on my logi wheel feels decent. Hopefully, it will not take them too long to fix these fps issues.
Great video. Seems like triple screens will be a terrible experience due to the current performance. I know it will be improved over time but almost seems like they jumped the gun on EA. AMS2 seems to be a in a good position considering the very very beta version of this.
Looks a promising early access start, barring the very poor AI. I was hoping that Evo would have improved some of the basic flaws in their AI, for example, them moving directly to the racing line at race start. Seems that issue has just been carried over into Evo. I'll give this at least a year before buying.
The hype that ace gets is just hilarious. 😂 No visual damage. Bad AI. Bad performance. Triple screen and vr sucks extremely. Forced online for a lot of things. The menu is one of the worst I've ever seen. The information within the roadmap are simply saying: it could be everything. But it could also be nothing. For me personally: The Early Access is even worse than ACC. I really don't know how they could improve this mess within 2025. 😅
@ yes. It's Early Access. But in it's current state: It's Pre Alpha. Nothing works. Performance is worse than in ACCs bad UE4 engine EA. The menu is one of the worst ones I've ever seen. Everything is more than complicated. If two men would have worked on their first game: Yes. That would be an Early Access. This one is just... bad.
@@ScholliUlz sounds like a you problem, the whole game works perfectly for me, 60b to 70 fps on 1444p, ffb feels amazing graphics and cars are outstandingbut I guess I'm just one of those people that didn't complain about a early access game that cost 25 quid but you do you mate
Something weird is going on with the physics in the middle of some corners... hard to explain but you start to slide a bit mid corner (feels normal) and then all of sudden it grips up so need to quickly correct for this with the wheel (feels not normal). I've never driven a race car at the limit so maybe it is realistic but doesn't feel right. Day 1 of early access...
This is called snap oversteer. When you're correcting your slide, you're likely letting off the gas which results in weight being transferred to the front tires giving them extra grip while simultaneously reducing rear grip. Playing AC EVO in VR on a Thrustmaster TX feels so unbelievably natural I hopped in and lapped the S2000 (admittedly spinning a few times till I got used to the car's handling nature) and then lapped flawlessly in Suzuka
Graphics and stuff i think will be fleshed out later, Sounds also felt very much like Placeholders, M4 CSL sounds a lot like the M4 from AC1 for example. so i expect that to be part of an update in the future
i9, 32GB DDR5, Zotac 4070 and it ran like crap. Triple screen set up was a “close your eyes and cross your fingers” affair - got mostly black screens or everything off to one side. For spits and giggles I cranked up some of the more hefty graphics options and although I got what I expected as far as frame rate I could see there was potential for some really impressive visuals. Still, I am getting a strong Forza Horizon vibe here - and that’s a game I loathed playing.
I disagree. Playing in VR on my index, cars sound so natural and good. They have to tune the sound being slightly muted at high speeds but it sounds really good to me. Maybe having to do with audio driver bitrate as I keep mine on high-res quality
For me there is a massive improvement in comparison to the original one. It feels like assetto corsa,it drives like asseto corsa. They put all their effort to the realism as they should. Yes it doesn't have the best graphics, not as stunning visually as Grid Legends but its a different game. Something weird is i play at 4K maxed out settings and the fps goes until 72 and stops there... Although i did disable v-sync and add the slider to 240. Who knows. Maybe a glitch.
Only played briefly for about 1 hour last night, tbh I'm relatively impressed, the handling and ffb felt good from the go. Granted I've only done hot lapping, but considering this is early access I'm relatively happy. Think some people don't understand what early access means, if you go into it with an open mind, you should be OK.
Id love the driving... if my game would run smoothly. im running medium settings on an rx 6600 and a ryzen 5 5500, and im getting about 40 - 60 fps while in a solo practice, and 20 - 30 with 8 ai racers. Would definitely love the UI to run smooth too, its a whole mess. Hoping the next patch will give us some optimizations. (also i tried vr, absolutely unplayable lmao i got a max of 10 fps)
Frame rate ok! At best 60 fps is that ok? and that’s with an empty circuit put other vehicles into the mix and it tanks to 20-35fps with stutters. This is early release so hopefully this will improve if anyone remember the frame rate of ACC at launch.
I think in after a few updates the game will begin to shine. Yes there are issues, but I believe in the devs. I bought it. I played it, and as an early access game, it's doing well.
I honestly don't think Sim racers even understand what an early access launch is. They're just trying to get their server stabilized, working on the net code, they're not even loading in all the textures yet in the game and you guys are yapping about the graphics quality and I can't access my profile and I can't do this and I can't do that. Get over it grow up and let the game develop. You paid for Early Access now shut up and go play and be happy you have something new to play
@@atticushexcel9567 I don’t know how much experience you have with Gaming, but when an early access or beta test was really bad in certain aspecs, the final game was NEVER good in these. And the Performance is a big issue. You can’t claim a 1070 or 1080 when a 4090 has a hard time getting 60 FPS on medium Settings in the rain.
@@Timlaut ok so just out of curiosity, what do you think "early access" means if you are not even prone to give trust to the company making the game? Wait 6 months, support it and then you can start complaining. Complaining on day one of an early access is literally useless
Ya need to place your incomplete of almost all EA features advertised by Kunos shovelware on your sim rig seat so it can meet the real you and burn like a hemorrhoid. lol
I want the game to play like automobilista - I just want access to all cars and tracks, start quick races and that’s it. I hope its optional to run career and earn cars & not be forced to rent
I despair sometimes. Some of the comments I'm seeing complaining about every single detail is crazy. It's not perfect but the driving feels great and at this stage, that's all that really matters to me.
I think that graphics look just realistic, most real races don't look spectacular because of looks, but because of action. However, level of detail when it comes to car interiors is amazing.
I actually had the same problem at Brands Hatch in a morning practice with the GR86, but once I avoided the fast lane it worked well. General menus are clunky, unlike when inside the session, and the AI has this scared cat behavior of backing off totally when passed, but that is some engaging feeling in the wheel, as it really invites to test more the limits of the cars. As much as I was hooked by the MX-5 Cup, I would say my favorite car is a surprise - the Alpine A290_ß.
It's definitely an early access game, its really rare that you get a pefet launch. Now I do belive that the Kunos dev is not a company that would launch a half cooked game and run with the money. Check all of their games so far, their games progress over time, they are updated and fixing them. So it does need a bit of time but I belive that within a year this will be a go to racing sim!
When it comes to kerbs, I've heard a professional driver talk about them. He said that kerbs in ACC are nothing like they are in real life. Apparently you hardly feel anything when you drive over them on a real track and the ones we have in the game feel too bumpy. This could be the reason for the change.
I bought it tonight but for now I'm refunding. Car feel is amazing, but I think I'll hold off for a few months. I'll argue the ffb is on par if not better than Iracing in the Porsche, I just don't think it's current state justifies the price. Picking it up again in a few months for sure.
The fact that the graphics are a bit more on the "mellow" side other than the typical all-settings-on-10 forza style graphics is a good sign. Forza is a perfect example of a game series that is visually striking and beautiful at first, but get very tiring for the eyes after a while. This softer graphics on ace is what i was hoping they would do
The graphics are beautiful I’m getting 80-90 FPS with no DLSS on a 4070ti super. Car sounds are on point and I’m not disappointed with the start of asetto corsa evo. My monitor is a Alienware 3225QF.
That’s because the first 6 were what was intended to be available until you earned credits to rent/buy more of the 20. Since the servers were overloaded, they enabled all 20 temporarily to give us something to do until it can be used online only as intended.
After the TDUSC debacle I'm gonna be very conservative with my expectations of this game, right now. Sure, it has potential but let's be real they have a long way to go in order to get this even close to what they promised it would be. I'm hoping they can deliver.
Thanks for the great video review of EVO. I hope this will be another great Racing game over time. I will not get this game until Winter of 2025 when the full game is in place and majority of the bugs are fixed. Looking forward to watching many video reviews and progress of this game. Also looking forward to trying this game with VR. Concerns: I want to see what they do with addons for the game. Will we have to pay for allot of DLC mods over what the initial cost of EVO game. I hope they improve the AI more as time goes on and make them more competitive with each other and not get so spread out so soon. Most drivers I saw today said the AI are not fast enough - too easy/erratic. Most of my Racing time now is just doing AI racing. I was hoping that EVO would provide Rolling Race starts/Formation laps Option which Assetto Corsa 1 did not have. Disappointed right now, I do not see Rolling Starts in the EVO menus. Would like to see similar like ACC has. I want to see what the entire track list will be and how many US tracks there will be when completed at the end of 2025. I prefer racing US tracks which I have many in AC1 and RFactor2. Will there be any Oval tracks. These games lately all seem to have the same tracks over and over. Want to see how they implement the Modding for the game. Will there be limitations to what 3rd party developers can do? We are very spoiled with AC 1 mods. How many different types of vehicles will there be in final end of the year build. And how many US vehicles will there be. Right now most or all of them are international vehicles. When the full game gets implemented, will we have access to all cars, or do we have to earn points, etc, to drive more advanced vehicles. I hope we get all cars on day 1 of game. So far the game looks very good. Again, Thanks for your awesome video review.
they did say the ai "learns" as you go. not sure if thats a career mode only thing or in general. but yeah they do need to be faster. fighting they did pretty well against each other and myself so far.
Lower end GPU here in a 3060 Ti at 1440p but have to agree that the graphics options weren't making as big a difference as I hoped aside from a handful like the multi mirror settings. Heavy rain with multiple cars on track was a complete no go, couldn't even hit 30 which considering I'm pretty much at recommended settings is concerning, but I could get solid 60 at low/off and DLSS performance in practice mode and clear conditions (50 in clear with 9 cars). CPU and VRAM usage was all really good so I'm hoping there's just some glaring bottlenecks they can fix in the render pipeline for some big gains - otherwise I struggle to see how the open world is going to playable, nor any sort of career with varying weather conditions - I certainly don't dare set weather to dynamic right now as it'll just tank my frame rate when the rain arrives. At least the driving feels great - same thoughts on the tyres, ragging the Ferrari GTB around Laguna and TC off has been my highlight of the launch so far.
I realize this is only day 1 but was expecting a lot more based on all the hype from the developers including those shiny trailers and their promises of this being the greatest racing game ever. Glad I didn't fork out the Can$43 for this as it is a bit steeper than I expected. Watching your review tells me it was the right decision. Hopefully a lot more will be added before the end of the month for me to justify paying $43 for this underwhelming day 1 release. For me not having half decent VR is a major turn off, even if it is bound to improve in the future. Or is it? Just look at ACC and how VR doesn't work on it to this day. As for the AI ramming you from the back, I get enough of that in RR3.
Once I got everything (that's available) set up and working the way I liked, at Bathurst, a track I'm very familiar with, in the M2 it felt 90% as good as in any other sim. I didn't try different FFB setting as all either. I just set my Alpha Mini to the default AC settings. That's good enough for me on the first day of launch.
I'm hoping they aren't going for deliberately slow AI to give the career mode a Gran Turismo feel where you're basically time trialling through a rolling roadblock. Just as GT7 is expanding Sophi AI to get better would be unfortunate. We have months ahead though and honestly there is already more in there than I'd expect from a day 1 - wasn't expecting VR even if it is broken.
damage does affect driving. I was driving with my wheel basically upside down after slamming into a wall. I think same damage could also be areo specific in cases. Also, could hear dragging metal
Nice roundup... I've purchased and installed but have not had a chance to try it yet. Good to hear the physics are where they should be. Kunos will get on top of the teething issues, no doubt. Patience. It's early access, and unlike some others (yes LMU), there are no paid DLC content throughout early access.
Did anyone else run into major stuttering as soon as the game booted up? My whole computer slowed to a snails pace and I could barely navigate the menu
My take: V 0.1 symptoms - graphics is a bit temporary - settings menu for sure is temporary - VR will get rework (it works partially) - online features were failing Good? - super readable driving, clear or wet. - had immediately cruising fun - even tho temporary, grafics is super clean So, as base engine and ffb thing this is super promising.l Looking for V0.3, maybe more for V1:)

Would you say its close to AC or ACC?
@@rohitandley i think it feels like both. the race cars with slicks remind me a lot of ACC but generally it is also a lot like AC
what wheel and what settings?? mine feels numb and overly dampened
Assetto Corsa encountered the same problems when it was first launched. But it turned into a gem.
The mods made it into a gem
@@MrJojoringothat happened because the developers left the option to openly mod it by design.
Otherwise we would had more limited modding or nothing at all.
Nah, man. The mods help with the janky ui and graphics of the base game that's it.
Traxion definitely like the 'wipers on crack' setting.
Its the first brick in the house.
exactly, i was patient and more importantly i enjoyed! i am very positive about the EVO and KUNOS.
Totally agree with you all. I’ve installed it and just wait for the updates to keep coming.
No Early Access game in the history of Steam has launched when that counter ends. That was normal.
I’m convinced that when the game has been fully released with DLC as well it will go down as one of the best racing games of all time. So much potential

Hopefully it will be better than iRacing garbage
I hate when you have to pay for dlc to get cars.
@@TechOMan that’s not going anywhere unless you want og AC models. Gran Turismo 5 had the premium full interior models and padding the rest out with PS2 cars.
@@MrTheErnie Gran Turismo 7 doesn't do that. You have to bring up a game that's over a decade old just to not prove your point?
Very true dude.. ❤
i think they were just expecting what was promised in the early access which was not fulfilled due to server issue and most modes being locked behind online stuff for some odd reason

Making a purchase decision based on day 1 of an Alpha build is crazyyyyy
Fr 😂
Thank you my dude, work 6 days with a young family. Dont need a 3 hour stream, Just need a 10min summary
Not impressed by AC Evo right now, however, that nighttime and rain driving has piqued my interest. Looks super cool when it's just you and your lights. I can tell night touge will be cool.
@@Runelor Still is early access right now but I do have high hopes for full release and future updates
There are other sims doing that for years you know right? Even modded AC
Great summary mate! I'm a hardcore AC player but my sim rig is VR only so I held off on buying the EA just yet until VR is polished
Good call! It’s got potential but a long long way to go, as we expected. Hopefully when VR is ready you can jump into a more polished game!
Shame
@chrisr236 But they were always mentioned that was being prioritized, but I guess it wasn't. I do see in the roadmap that it is getting improved
Simhub released and update to support EVO. That was impressive. VR is shockingly unoptomized. So I haven't even really done a single lap. I will wait for patches.
Brutal. Honestly can't see it getting that much better, just like ACC
Vr looks terrible on main menu for me so definatly not even got on track yet
Can you compare Day 1 of LMU release to ACE Day 1 release since they are both Early Access games.

"I don't think it's terrible" good summary. they should put it on the box.
I think it is realy cool that you preduced such a informative video that fast I enjoyed watching it pretty much and I am thankfull that I know were the game is in the production right now.
Perfect job giving an honest overview of the game day 1. I tried it and must say. This overview is spot on. Thank you for a great review 👍🏼
Regarding the FFB, it feels like there is a lot of damping even if I turn it off both in game and in my wheel base software (Simagic Alpha U).
I see 4 sliders that can be adding damping, I see some are only zeroing the first two. I suspect some of these road cars have some built in damping.
I ran 4 laps at Bathurst in ACE. Then I ran 4 laps in the same car ( Mazda MX 5 cup) in AC. They have some work to do!
Care to elaborate?

If you’re going to comment on pc performance, could you please give us your pc specs? It’s hard to judge where our framerate would be if we don’t know how much more or less powerful your pc is which makes giving framerate numbers not very useful.
I'm playing it with a 4070 super. With the preset of ultra I get a solid 60fps, but the GPU is only running at 70-80% with 20 cars on track. Dropping the settings to medium gains you barely any frames at all but will reduce the GPU load to 50%
I have a 3080 OC with 5700X3D. I played on high settings and FPS was well above 60. (Sorry I don't ga exact numbers)
But when I did quick race with 14 other cars my FPS I'd say was around 45-75.
The one thing that strikes me is how good the sense of speed seems to be. Can’t wait to try this on my CSL DD.
There’s an early access road map showing that these things will be implemented throughout the early release window.
People need to remember.. early access is a great for devs to get feedback.. so many people expect perfection in early access

I think the main problem is that they were basically promising licences academy and such Day 1 but they are not there, and that makes an absolutely positive early access feel like a tech demo
@@TheMiGger I can see that.

I going wait for two years.
Thanks for really nice summary. But one thing I consider to be very important and maybe "this is all about it" is missing: comparison between driving physics of ACC and EVO. What changed and how?

@@TraxionGG True true, sorry.😉
I forgot you reviewed EVO without yesterday's patch.
You know it's going to be the best video when it's 10 minutes and Mr Munro. Absolutely let's go.
I couldn't have a race over 60fps, but in practice, I was able to get stable 80+ fps, and ffb on my logi wheel feels decent. Hopefully, it will not take them too long to fix these fps issues.
They had six years. ACC was released in Sept 2018
Graphics are lame. I played for an hour on max settings and then jumped back on Competizione, which looks WAAAAAY better
The pricing is very reasonable in India. I expected it to be priced 4x more than what it is currently tagged for.
No visual damage.

Playing AC EVO in VR on a Thrustmaster TX feels so unbelievably natural I hopped in and lapped the S2000 (admittedly spinning a few times till I got used to the car's handling nature) and then lapped flawlessly in Suzuka

i9, 32GB DDR5, Zotac 4070 and it ran like crap.
Im absolutely loving ac evo, i love the car feeling i love everything it currently has, i cant wait for this game to develop
My biggest issue is how terrible the cars sound.
I honestly don’t think the audio has improved from AC 1.
agreed. It doesn't match the updated graphics very well and makes the whole thing feel dated.
I disagree. Playing in VR on my index, cars sound so natural and good. They have to tune the sound being slightly muted at high speeds but it sounds really good to me. Maybe having to do with audio driver bitrate as I keep mine on high-res quality
they literally reused almost all sounds from ac and acc. shaaame. Only improved the redline a bit
The sound just lacks soul to me. Very electronic sounding still. Some free mods for AC have better audio and authentic sound.
It's still early access I'm sure they'll fix it :D
@gomilopez1 I hope so. At least 120 fps . The game looks great. I can only imagine how much they will improve iylt in 2 years
Only played briefly for about 1 hour last night, tbh I'm relatively impressed, the handling and ffb felt good from the go.
Hello and thank you for this video! 🙏 Why isn´t your video titled: Assetto Corsa EVO Early Access? Is this the full version?
That depends on track. Some tracks have very aggressive scalloping on the kerbs. Some are very flat and low.
I had huge problems with FPS drops
give it 5 years for all the issues to get sorted out, then all the modding content to get sorted and then i might be interested.
In 5 years you might be dead. Play now.
@@0-60STYLE i know its eary days, but at the moment im not interested, i'll wait and see how it develops.
I'm sure I saw a car with a wheel bent in. But boy this game is earrrrrrrrly access! 😵💫
Thanks for the vid and feedback. Any suggestions on xbox controller setup?
The Ai reminds me of the regular Ai. Specially at the starts. Strange to see that some steer totally to the left when the light turn green.
I bought it tonight but for now I'm refunding. Car feel is amazing, but I think I'll hold off for a few months. I'll argue the ffb is on par if not better than Iracing in the Porsche, I just don't think it's current state justifies the price. Picking it up again in a few months for sure.
For bigger price in next months. Logical.
I've got a rtx 3080 combined with a reverb g2. It was absolutely unplayable. Fps droppen to 25'ish... really dissapointed atm, i hope they fix it.
Can we just all take a moment and look at that 25k players peak day 1 of early access ?
when i shut down EVO and started again it downloaded the rest of the 15 cars.
Concerns:
I want to see what they do with addons for the game.
@@void_snw Ah - thanks for that information. Enjoy testing the game.
My biggest complain is how unoptimized it is, hopefully they fix it
I realize this is only day 1 but was expecting a lot more based on all the hype from the developers including those shiny trailers and their promises of this being the greatest racing game ever.
How is the weather model compared to the PCARS2/AMS2 system?
For VR users shockingly bad, ACC all over again and that never got that good. ac1 will still look better
Nice roundup... I've purchased and installed but have not had a chance to try it yet. Good to hear the physics are where they should be. Kunos will get on top of the teething issues, no doubt. Patience. It's early access, and unlike some others (yes LMU), there are no paid DLC content throughout early access.
thanks for the positive update I will wait till release or when multiplayer is ready
Did anyone else run into major stuttering as soon as the game booted up? My whole computer slowed to a snails pace and I could barely navigate the menu
My take:
V 0.1 symptoms
- graphics is a bit temporary
- settings menu for sure is temporary
- VR will get rework (it works partially)
- online features were failing
Good?
- super readable driving, clear or wet.
- had immediately cruising fun
- even tho temporary, grafics is super clean
So, as base engine and ffb thing this is super promising.l
Looking for V0.3, maybe more for V1:)
2:45 there is an issue with the “G29” that doesn’t give any force feedback.
