I love how terrifying King is after landing a heat engager. Being so close to this man while he has so much frame advantage is one of the scariest things in the game imo lol
Ive been King main since Tekken 1 and Ive never had more fun in a Tekken game! When I hear that sound after getting counter throw on a power crush, its like music to my ears! 😂 Ive landed all link throws from RCD, Kings Bridge, Burning Hammer into Screwdriver in Ranked! I mix up my throws and my strikes pretty good just to keep opponents on there toes. Great Heat Engager Video It was my only mix up I was lacking!
Why didnt I think of using f1+4 after a heat engager. Perfect safe option imo with plus frames OB leading to a mixup. Gonna add that to my bag, cheers!
Instead of heat smash, i usually like doing f2,1 again as the mid option and doing heat dash to turn it into a safe mid launcher that has crazy wall carry!
I like to use f3, 1+2 as a mid mixup option for a bit scarier mixup than justic nipples. Also when it comes to fussying, if someone is doing it, it means they are staying still = you can mixup your timing. You can delay the throw input after doing crouch dash to make them get back up before it hits.
@@beigemaster But they have to be careful to not hit in your db1+2 armor. Even if jab might interrupt the startup, it's a high, so there's another mindgame there. Personally I like the layers :)
Played King in Tekken 7 but not seriously (I am a casual to fighting games) but I wanna try to get serious with Tekken 8 and this video is really nice. You deserve my sub! Thank you.
Sorry I have a question about heat engagers. When you do the heat engager and you are in the middle of the run, what is the input to get a ff or fff command? Like I remember getting a shining wizard from it but I couldn't do it consistently Because you mention doing justice nipples but when do you do the input for ff 1+2? During it or just as it ends? Thank you:)
You can buffer the run I think about halfway through the dash, so that’s how you get the WR3 or shining wizard- if you just press F at the very end of the dash you get the normal non running input. Probably best to just practice in practice mode to experiment with the timing.
When playing King online, especially in ranked, he has that intimidation factor. I mean as soon as the fight begins, I get jumped on pretty quick. And I'm like "damn, just learning the character and I'm already getting cooked" 😂😂😂😂 Anyway, thanks for the videos. I'm looking forward to more, hopefully, Leo is in the cards.
I know it seems hard to imagine, but as you progress then you’ll notice more advanced players will be less and less mashey and won’t rely on just spamming every move in the book. The downside is they’ll know how to counter you and work around your own attacks. At this point, Tekken turns more into a game of Chess whereas lower ranks its more like ‘Hungry Hungry Hippos!’
Many of the better tournament King players in my region prefer to use f3:1+2 out of CD instead of WS 1+2. Apart from being safe, it's also i15, which makes it quite difficult to fuzzy. The only downside is that f3:1+2's oki was nerfed into the ground in T8 and you don't get f21 on back getup anymore. Technically, you can f2+3 to backroll catch on wakeup, but it's a frame perfect input with no buffering.
What I do is muscle buster if it lands I’m gonna keep doing it. If they duck the next time I will do another Forward 2,1. With more mind games of either muscle buster or something else

I'm not kidding when I say that you are literally better off just hopkicking (and I'm not saying that's a good option either) than using f21 against competent players. If they decide to remain standing after the heat engager, they will 100% duck the second hit of the f21 and launch you. Using f21 to catch duckers is a really bad habit that many Kings have.
heya beige! your videos on t7 helped me understand king a lot. so im hoping I might be able to give a little bit back. i think i found a heat combo but it's a little tough for me to pull off consistently for right now. it hinges entirely off uf3+4 while heat is active. so i reckon most combos that use uf3+4 could benefit from it! anyway, here it is: [heat active] wcdf2 - ff1 - df4,3 - 2 - uf3+4, 2 - 1 - fff2+4 it's pretty easy to get aerial jag bomb after uf3+4, 2. so much so that you can sub in a 1jab right before uf3+4. also, its pretty easy to use heat smash as an ender instead of fff2+4 but i think its kind of a waste because most of the damage gets lost. unless you're either almost out of heat or on the floor blast stage. then you might as well!
My guy wr3 is a forced block after heat engager dash. They cant ss, interrupt, armor, rage art or parry. Maybe yoshi can falsh in nss but someone like lily? Nothing she can do but block it and eat the chip and -3

F3 is a good shout, only problem is if they block it then you lose your turn rather than keeping the momentum going

DB2 is a good shout for the safe mid launcher, can’t remember the exact frames but pretty sure you lose your turn if it’s blocked.

Using f21 to catch duckers is a really bad habit that many Kings have.
