But I think this confirms that it is an issue with the HOTT. It’s not a dealbreaker but I’ve definitely tabled plans to install an amp and better speakers in my Honda. Why go to that expense when there is a baked in SQ issue with the head unit.
@@ThriftyAV Not your fault but I've reported a problem. I can't get it to connect with three known-good Bluetooth headphones. All 3 work fine with my Samsung A71 phone. I also tried to connect after turning off Bluetooth on my phone and nearby laptop. No luck. I' waiting to hear back fron Hott support.

Try to find the AUX port, which is round. If you can't find it then your car might not support it. Also the port is just like those on your phone, you know, the headphone jack thing. You can also try Bluetooth if your car has any.
I'm seriously considering the HOTT player. Like you, I have a huge collection of really hard-to-find music, and I desperately miss my in-car CD player. My question is whether you can connect the CD player via bluetooth at the same time as my iPhone is connected via bluetooth. I didn't notice you showing whether this would work in your video. It may be a feature that changes from car to car because each system has different capacities. Any help would be appreciated.
In my experience, only on Bluetooth transmittal device at a time can connect to a receiver device. I connect the HOTT and my iPhone 13 simultaneously to my late model Honda by connecting the HOTT first (because I always want music but I don’t always need my phone connected). Then if I need nav or to make a call, I do a wired connection of the phone to the car. I have two USB ports and I use the second one to always just leave the HOTT charging.
I was going to get one for my car but the Hott website specifically states "Bluetooth version: V5.0, NOT recommend to use Bluetooth connection in car." I would greatly appreciate it if you could clarify the discrepancy (because I am clueless about this stuff). Cheers
I was successful connecting it with my 2022 Toyota Tacoma. It was recognized as a a "smart phone" by the Tacoma head unit. I cannot guarantee that this unit will work with other auto bluetooth receivers. 5:40
I’d suggest buying the HOTT from Amazon (liberal return policy) and trying for yourself. 2022 Honda owner here and I connect this unit nearly every day. In my experience, these Chinese companies sometimes state product capabilities or issues that just aren’t true. I went through three other players that compatibility charts (on Amazon) said we’re compatible with my car but which were not. I found that there are so many variables-make and model of vehicle being the biggest-that will complicate ability to get a definitive, dispositive answer online to the compat question. I recommend that it’s a better use of your time to just try the unit yourself.
Hi. I tried using the Bluetooth to connect to my earbuds, but instead, I got a prompt that HOTT wanted to Sound Share to my Roku TV, and had the option to Decline Block or Accept. I couldn't use the Roku remote to choose. Any advice?
I ordered this device because you made it look very simple to hook it up to the car Bluetooth. I have a Honda Accord 2019 obviously without a CD player. However, I do have my phone connected via Bluetooth. I don’t know how to bring up a menu other than the phone menu to connect a different device. I’m not so sure I can connect this to my accord. This is sad... I mean, the way that ODD modules are being deprecated in modern car AV infotainment scenario. Only in this Toyota case is such deptecation ridiculous and not necessary, as the display audio head unit is still there in a near-2DIN enclosure, and that previous model years saw the availability of the more deluxe display audio head unit variant with the ODD still intact. So this one shown here can be argued as a result of lame cost-cutting and such......

Has anyone connected to a 2015 Chevy (I have the Camaro). This Infotainment unit is pre-carplay. I tried to pair but the cars info nav asked to enter a number on the device you are trying to pair to confirm. I don't think this is going to work.
I don't see why you would want flac files on a CD. The sound quality wouldn't be any better, I wouldn't think, and you wouldn't be able to fit much more on a CD-R than standard audio files...
Why on earth would you play the burned cd on some speakers & not in your car like you played the 1st cd? 🤦♂️ the whole purpose of me bothering to watch this was for me to find out if any cd is playable in my 2024 camry.how uninsightful smh

If ur after sound quality skip this junk and buy a used sony from the 90s with the option to shutoff anti skip.
I have picked up old Sony and other brands in the thrift store. On older units the motor or the laser mechanism often stops working.
