I remember carrying around a portable CD player in high school. It didn't have a lot of these freatures, pretty bare bones except it did play the music I wanted. I might pick this unit up.
In the days of streaming, it feels nostalgic to load up a CD into this player! But the old players used to run through batteries like crazy. This one has saved me some money with the rechargable battery. Thanks for the comment.
@@ThriftyAV ---- I had a Blue Rio Volt SP150 back in 2005. Great little CD Player... I wonder if they'll ever make a CD Player that can read Micro SD cards.
Thanks I purchased it for my Land Rover. Send via TX mode and I am good to go. Simple and it delivers, awesome price, awesome quality audio 20 hours on full charge. sweet
@@NintendoDude888 I know. But, it's better than going through the trouble of a separate transmitter like what had to be done in the earlier years. What a night mare that was on occasion.
I just ordered this unit from Amazon. Would not read 3 different discs. Sent it back for a new one. I hope I have better luck this time. Enjoyed your review .
I'm sorry to hear about the problem you are having with your unit. I'm glad you caught the problem early while it was eligible for return. Thank you for letting folks know that your unit was faulty here in the comments section. I hope you follow up when your new player arrives. I will be reviewing a different portable CD player sometime over the next few weeks.
Hey, I just got one, and aside from the delay between tracks on "program", I love it . the eq is good, too . Now, if I could just keep my cats from knocking it off the shelf .
These bring me back to my high-school days I always used rechargeable batteries for cd players 2650 mah AA's theyed last a week per charge on the cheap cd players with anti skip activated
Whats sucks about newer models is although they got cool features that older models don't have, it doesn't give you the option to shut off the shock protection because while it does continue to play even though you take a jog, hit a bump or even tap it, it doesn’t really give you the best cd quality sound since it is stored in a compressed audio. That's why I prefer older models that play directly from a CD. But if you want to listen to it wherever you go, this is the one.
Nice.. I found at a thrift store a very unique portable DVD/CD player that resembles a "discman" type. It brand is ez Gear PL100. It supports Super Audio CD, HDCD, MP4, DTS, Dolby Digital.. Not much information on it online besides an older listing on Amazon as one review mentioned it's price at $189.19 at the time in 2009.. It was suppose to be used with a goggle glasses to simulate a 50 foot screen illusion. It works great after I charged the gummy type rechargeable battery or powers on 12V 1000ma..
I have a Pioneer DVD player with Super Audio CD playback, but that feature is quite rare on portables! Great list of features, although the google glass thing ended up being a no-go! Super cool thrift find! You should post a vid!
@@ThriftyAV I'll do one soon. I need to find my video cable 3.5mm to rca. Curious how it would play on my TV. It does read a DVD disk and starts playing automatically. When it reads an audio CD it goes to track 1 and plays as you push the play button. There is a listing on eBay for the ez Goggles used but the seller is asking a small fortune $119.00.. I did read the goggle eye wear was a not so good concept.
I just love the sound of this thing . I'm on my 2nd one now . The first one I had to destroy because it refused to "read " the disc . I blamed it on my cats and the hard floor . But the new one is acting funny - I may have to introduce it to the pavement .
I have an older one now that uses 2 AA batteries... and I use rechargeable batteries.. a question... can you use this while it's charging??? and what happens when the lithium battery starts to go..? they have a shelf life, most people don't know ..
what do you think of this in comparison to Amtok? I'm looking for a good portable cd player (speaking of sound quality and volume) to enjoy my collection with my headphone (marshall major IV) and I would appreciate any help or advice with it.
Awesome review! I'm considering buying one of this but I have two questions: Can you tell me how it held up after a few months? Can the ASP feature be turned off? Thanks!
Been using in my car over 12 months . No problems connect via TX mode, sometimes I come across a state where the channel selected is in use. No problem, switch to another. Aux and cable is ready...
Look for a vintage Sony Discman. There are forums where they discuss the best models. The very best, are pretty old and pretty expensive on eBay, but you can get a model that will likely sound much better than these no-name cheepos for $30-100.

Just curious if you or anyone here know of a discman that can connect to Bluetooth heaphones ? It's extremely hard to find and don't know what keywords to use to search ,nice video tho From ,Simba
@@ThriftyAV i recieved mine yesterday and tried it thru the radio and it is AMAZing. im giving it as a gift and they r gonna be so pleased! thanks so much for your video!
The ones that cost about $30 all use 'AA' batteries, and burn through them quickly, so that is a cost to consider. Also this Hernido has some features not found on the bare bones units.
I hear that even the higher end modern releases have substandard DACs compared to even a budget cdman from back in the day. I'm definitely wary of modern players.
My new car does not have CD player this does a great cheap way to listen to cds in car easy to set up and works perfectly through car speakers .superb
That would be really cool if the CD had like a rotoscoped animation on the label.
I haven't used a portable CD player in 25 plus years. It does look like a nice unit.

Looks good to me. I need one of these. Like the program aspect ; it does the work that my old cassettes did - skip the tunes you don't like !

Hello , what do you think about limited too portable cd player it's good one or only for kids ?
Im getting one of these for my home Theater system sense mine does not have a cd player itll be a cheap alternative that and for my car
Can I run the headphone out into rca inputs (with proper cables ) ?
It should have removable batteries.
I can buy rechargable AAs.
Is this C D player available in Delhi India ?
Is it difficult to throw like a frisbie ? I have a problem with stray cats.
Is this better than the HOTT one you reviewed before?
I have not reviewed the HOTT portable CD player on ThriftyAV.

I do not own and have not tried the Amtok Portable CD player, so I cannot provide a comparison.
Rechargeable batteries really cut the longevity of this. AA batteries still have an advantage in my books.
i choose Monodeal Brand CD PLAYER, it is supert anti-skip
Good to know.

Instead of batteries does it come with adapter?
1:10 USB to barrel style power cable
does the memory ever fill up?
Yes. The disc starts and stops spinning periodically during CD playback as the cache fills up.

A Sony discman CD Player pouch will fit it. Or wear cargo pants.
