Myself, I run an old "bulletproof" M57 diesel. Ironically, it can also make more power than an s65, with relative reliability if you upgrade the cooling.
@@kevinkeelan354 the S63 as used in the current X5M and M5/M8 is actually very reliable. Evolve is running a built version of it with 1000 bhp
@@Anders_HeymSR30 check Chris Harris’s old tweets. No modern bmw v8 is reliable. Least of all the s63.
The only problem I have with the term SUV is that there is nothing sporty about an SUV.
Apart from the new x5m having 625bhp
Its sportiness comes from the immense straight-line speed. These are far more SUV than anything Hyundai or Lexus make in the market, for example.
The seven seat option was never offered on the (proper) M models as it’d upset the weight distribution.
Also... why do you refer to the door mirrors as the winged variety? You’re showing your age there mate!
Keep up the brilliant work though!!!
Ha ha ha, "community pharmacy", excellent. Whenever I see one and can communicate with the driver, I always ask them how much a gram is, I get some funny looks. I get some angry ones and I once had £10 a point as an answer, but back in my drinking in the pub days, this was the community pharmacist car of choice. I've not heard that name before, it's brilliant and I will plagiarise it, sorry.
I wonder what the owner of this car did with the stuff with a street value that had been left?
@@MrGwaldo binned it, if it was of good quality I would have experimented with it, however the thought of many bum sweats being on there......I didn’t want to try the extra flavouring 🤣
@@H22Freak Uuurrrggghhhh. Probably wise.
Probably not many for sale as they have all been impounded.
My cat, Nosey, was intrigued by the sound of this.
Is Nosey a name or a description
@@JayEmmOnCars Both. That is his name. He is a grey tabby with a white mark on his nose. He is also inquisitive.
I wonder how much an exhaust that sounds that bad costs?
Genuine eBay Akrapovic exhaust.... tips.
I miss bmw build quality- iv got a rr sport 2010 v6hse D - im convinced it was built by gremlins that had been fed after midnight!😬
LMAO community pharmacist 😂😂😂
LOOOOOOOOOL
Community pharmacist 😁😁😁
Hmmm, ebay stickers special. Great
M Performance stickers and Wish.com Akrapovic exhaust tips 😳
You need to drive a E53 x5 4.6is. That is the original M suv. If you know, you know. #alpina
The original M SUV is E53 4.6is 😉
A crap ovitch? I thought it was acra po vitch?
Don't think they are James favourite brand of exhaust.
Who would want to be seen in one of these?? 🙈🙈🙈
All I remember is it was the first/only commercial available triple turbo diesel which was crazy
Also BMW swore never to make a V8 for some reason
I thought this was the M50D. Bummer
the tint is a nice touch, adds a nice bit of flex towards the peasants
I love this car but the m performance stickers are tragic
I wonder what car the community pharmacist upgraded to after getting rid of this one?
Prefer the ML63AMG
Support your local community pharmacist!
I want
The engine sound is quite unfortunate.
Footballers car.
The illegal and dangerous front window tints speaks volumes about the owner. It will invalidate his insurance as an undeclared modification
More about the previous owner, who fitted them I think. They are being removed
If it was for sale, I wouldn’t buy it purely because of the M Performance. Real men do not apply those. 😂
E53 did not have an e46 interior, all bmws all that time has similar elements, duh
"Performance SUVs" are the most pathetic things on the road.
I agree except the urus, like the current range rover go 150mph that's perfect really
I had a Macan Turbo for a few days a couple years ago, and I still insist it is one of the most fun, yet well-rounded vehicles I have ever driven. Granted, it is a lot smaller than this X5.
@@georgepom328 the urus is the worst of all. It’s comical.
G65 AMG are very impressive and capable cars.
why? they sound good, handle well and have the practicality that allows it to be driven daily when your other car is at home whilst still giving you a bit of excitement when you put your foot down.
20k for that? I'm shocked it's still that much. No ta...
Community pharmacist 🤣🤣😂😂
I think the main problem Mk1 X5M had was that it was introduced fairly late in its life cycle if I remember right.
That and don’t remember many journalists praising it.
I do have fond memories of my mums old Le Mans Blue X5 4.8is (the orginal X5 generation) that used to sound like what I imagined a muscle car would.
Worst car my father in law owned was a Honda S2000.
The rust underside was shock for a 6 year old car, and having to rev the nuts off it to get anywhere became tiring.
Awful car, looked ok but everything else was flawed.
All day breakfast sandwich: dirty.
My dad bought one brand new it was nothing but trouble, I've never know a car to have so many problems. The engine eventually grenaded at 80k even after all regular servicing and it was scrapped at 7 years old which was a joke.
Only BMw can say what cars are M or not. Its a real M car, its got emblems all over it.
community pharmacist, items with a street value haha
This shows how BMW tried (and failed) to commercialise their M cars.
Failed how they have just released the new x5m which is the forth x5m to be produced
BMW have succeeded in hugely devaluing the M brand through cars like this.
BMW m cars sell more than AMG and RS cars so something must be right
