0:00 Intro
0:04 Customer Stated "my brakes don't work"... as you can see the caliper was practically paper thin
0:14 No way the owner of this vehicle can switch lanes safely
0:28 Apparently the carb was maxed out so definitely needs some tuning
0:46 Drove into the shop in this state, definitely not missing anything important right?
0:59 This trucks window switch seems to be having a disagreement with the battery
1:07 Customer bought this new radiator that blew up on them only a week later with this odd gunk coming out of it
1:21 Classic mistreated fleet vehicle
2:40 Customers states "It certainly could have overheated as she has done nothing for maintenance on this car in over a year. No oil changes, fluid checks, anything."
2:53 Customer's horn likely got some water in it making it sound like this
3:04 Holden rodeo 4JB1Ts radiator hose collapsed hopefully just needs a new radiator cap
3:14 This has to be one of the worst I've seen and heard
3:39 Nissan 350z's throw-out bearing ain't too happy
3:48 Customer states rattle in rear over bumps one of their leaf springs snapped in half
3:55 Although it's a fuel for some things vehicles its definitely not compatible for your normal cars
4:05 The gas prices are even scaring the cars
4:13 Just rolled in for an oil pan gasket and a rear main seal
4:40 This was A parts store a return from 2022 so unfortunately I'm not sure how it happened
4:49 This Acura was having a bit of a hard time starting and the battery really wasn't happy at the end
5:22 Customer States "Clutch won't fully disengage"
5:38 1996 Chevy Silverado 2500. Mechanic had this happen when they went to shift after checking something. The little plastic bushing that's supposed to be in the clip thingy was gone

The number of broken in two brake rotors amazes me. I've never come across one in 35 years of wrenching. I've seen some worn ridiculously thin, but never broken.
Everybody puts too much worry into the brakes, If three go out there is still one, right? And if that one goes out you can still drive on the freeway.
Same here. 20ish years working on 1985 to 2020 Hondas. I did have a crankshaft pulley break into 2 on an 07 TL-S (in 2018). It came apart in much the same way, the outer ring with the belt grooves separated as a full ring from the inner crank pulley. The dealership advisor I ordered from said he hadn't seen that since 1995 (in an 87 accord). I've not seen it before or after
I've seen it once in 20yrs in the UK. Took me a few moments to figure out , and accept , what I was looking at. I think it was on the rear of an Audi.
Amazing that we are on the same roads as these idiots we never have their brakes fixed until they fall off.
Every complaint I read is the same, mechanics are so expensive. That would be a false statement at best. Most Mechanics are hard working people keeping customers safe. Maybe the people who own certain shops are wealthy but not the guys and gals I know.
Thanks to all the real mechanics out there. 👍👍👍👍👍
Mechanics aren't expensive, automotive failures are. Imagine how expensive those failures would be if there were no mechanics.
@@flagmichael 👍👍👍👍👍
This is what happens when you live in a state that decides it doesn't need a safety inspection for you to renew your registration.
The engine run on when shutting it off was common on older GM vehicles. It was determined the alternator was still producing current after the ignition was turned off, back feeding power to the coil, keeping the engine running. Installing a diode at the right location in the wiring, prevented the back flow of current.
its also dieseling, because carbon buildup. seems like a mix of both
That was pure dieseling witch is caused by timing issues and will only happen to carbureted vehicles as you can hear it's only a couple of cylinders that are firing randomly. The mix of high cylinder temperature and air pulling fuel from the carburetor and self igniting like a diesel. Carbon build up will cause the similar issue of spark knock while driving but isn't likely to cause it during shutdown as the carbon cools pretty quickly compared to the metal. Dieseling can quickly be stopped by letting the engine idle a few minutes to help cool it down properly setting ignition timing so cylinder temps stay within normal range or by pumping the gas a time or 2 adding enough fuel to quench the cylinders and shutting off the engine. Hasn't been a problem since fuel injection took over due to the need for the computer to fire the injectors to add fuel unlike a carburetor witch will continue to have fuel until the engine stops spinning as most have a mechanical pump
@@claytoncoolidge992 I had an old car with an automatic transmission which did this but very badly. If left in gear, it shut-off like it should.
@@jamesplotkin4674 lol ya cause it pulled the engine down and it wasn't making enough power on 1 or 2 cylinders firing randomly to keep going
It can also just diesel Yes gas can do that if it is hot enough in the combustion chamber
Oil pan differential was a sight to see first time I saw one. As soon as I saw it, was like, "nope, ain't working on that"
Come on, try working on old Auto union vehicles, where to change the V belt you have to remove engine and gearbox, because the belt is between them. Pretty every owner was an early adopter of the Gates repairable belt, simply because you spliced it together to make up the length, and you did not need to spend a day taking the thing apart and back together.
Someone has too that’s the disappointing thing here
Every all wheel dive bmw has been like that since the early 2010s
I've seen first hand the Envoy oil pan situation. Family member hit a rock, knocked a chunk out of the pan. My boys helped fix it and I will say I'll NEVER own a vehicle that convoluted in design!
I thought only BMW did that!
4:06 sounds like typing “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa” in an old text-to-speech program
3:40 so... we don't talk about that guy just being in socks... in his car... in his garage?
That motor running is just Deiseling, carbon buildups in the chambers will have glowing hot spots that ignite impurities. The carb running way rich explains that. The fix is to run the motor at 3000rpm and slowly feed a bottle of water through the engine, it'll break up the carbon and it'll all blow out.
Lol dude with the envoy being surprised about the shaft through the oil pan is going to be floored to find out how many different vehicles are being built like that now lol a lot of them are that way and isn't a new deal as seen in that old vehicle. Wait till he has to do an engine swap on it and finds out that you have to pull the body to do it😅
I have a Chev Trailblazer with a 4.3 inline 6 where the drive for the front wheels goes through the oil pan.
So many great ones. 😂
Idk, I think the Ford truck with the window motor button fluctuating the volt meter might be normal. Had a '91 F150 that did the same thing. Was fun to time it and see how big of a swing you could get the volt meter going, ha
thats called dieseling, its when there is excessive carbon buildup
Can also be a timing issue as well.
3:30 Those are just Nissan's Bluetooth bushings. They prolly just need to be re-paired.
3:45 Throwout Bearing most likely.
Yeah, my mom had an '02 Jeep, and the throw-out bearing went out suddenly after I almost money shifted it. It sounded just like that except WAY louder. Managed to limp it home without it completely dying, but them my step-dad decided to rive it despite the horrid noise, and got stranded 5 mins later when the clutch finally jammed.
0:24 so how do you think we manage to drive our vans with no rear window for 45k miles a year without issue?
its a mix of dumbassery and no mirror usage
Or how bus drivers could exist on the roads? Inside mirror is not an obligattory.
As long as there are two INTACT side mirrors, the rear view mirror is optional
4:50 Please explain what we are seeing here? No idea what they are trying to show me with the instrument panel.
That they don't know how to diagnose a battery issue.
Battery is just about flat dead, just enough for the instrument cluster to come on but not enough to engage the computer, causing havoc.
Replace the battery and it'll be fine.
@@amzarnacht6710 thank you.
2:05 - my buddy's durango had that happen to him a few days ago.
2:45 Dropped valve seat. 2.0 SPI is known for it.
5:38 was not excepting to see my clip because of how little effort I was able to put into it. Those trucks are cramped underneath when you don't have a lift
radiators don't just sludge up. owner probably didn't flush system when they installed new radiator due to old issue
Guy never seen a parking brake explode like that? Happens all the time. Happened to my 08 Nissan Titan.
Yeah that whole thing of running while the engine is off is called dieseling and it can happen with gas engines that are carbureted I had a GM truck that did the same thing
1:30 Semi-floater with 8 lugs? What's that on?
One can always ascertain Chinese car parts .
4:06 makes for a sick beat
0:15 What do you think all the people in pick-up trucks with toppers do?? 🤷🏻🤦🏻
4:06 Ever had your car laugh at you?
I had my parking brake explode. I dont think I had used it for years and my wife engaged it and released it, well it was all rusted up and one side didn't disengage and she kept driving and told me the rear tire was making some weird noise. Took the tire off and had pieces falling out (no more parking brake).
4:50 So what? Charge your battery up.. 🙄
Parking brake was probably simply left engaged. Check to see the warning light works.
Warning light works, probably had the phone in front of it watching a movie.
Had a parking brake fall apart on me while driving it seized up the wheel had to do some road side work to get it home. The cause of mine was 15 years of rust caught up on me still have truck but no parking brakes.
@@SeanBZA Some Ford trucks I've seen end up having issues with the light being on and it's not engaged. Could've been like that and then the one time it was left on without knowing it
4:15 this guy must have never seen a BMW X-Drive lol
BMW has been running half shafts thru the oil pan forever
Can't see a damn thing.
Edit! Reject vertical submissions. Tell them to turn the damn phones or get real cameras.
Yes because mechanics will just have full DSLRs available - it's not a Snap On part no. yet?
@@the_kombinator You don't need a DSLR, JUST turn the dam phone sideways!
You people really need something to worry about.
2:52 If you think it's a good idea to make a vertical video, I'm not surprised that you also think it's a good idea to replace the steering wheel airbag with a whoopee cushion.
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
If thats a dodge inline 6 that’s sputtering and keeps running. I found mine to have worn down crank bearings. Put new ones in …. Stopped it ….You can do them easily. Didn’t have to hack up the truck at all
Looked like a Chevy. You can see the pushrod covers.
3:40 that truck has Hydroboost. It's probably just the belt slipping over the power steering pulley and making noise when depressing the brake pedal.
The car at 4 minutes must belong to an aborigine in Australia. 🇦🇺
Second clip is stupid. You dont need your rearview mirror to judge distance and not cut people off.
Calling a brake drum a rotor. Really? Obviously not much of a mechanic.
Anyone know what is happening on westerexodus... my car sounds like that but so much quieter
