Good review… I was one of those people that saw this trap on Amazon and said, “that silly thing will never work!” But I had a noisy little furry offender banging around in the walls and the kitchen every night. Messy glue strips and dangerous poison pellets didn’t work, so I tried this. Unbelievable! It worked in less than an hour. Really nice gadget to have! Clean, humane and simple. I’d recommend it to anyone. :)
Definitely gonna get one, although I can't guarantee I'll get up every couple of hours to check it ... but maybe ... I like the idea of it giving the mouse a QUICK death. And that's also a unique idea on how to get rid of the corpses!
Either the register box isn’t attached to the floor correctly or you have a pipe issue maybe a rust hole or a joint off the pipes should be airtight all the way to the furnace
Hello Shawn. It's a year later, I've had excellent success with the two traps that I purchased. I found an open space under the stairs to my laundry (hose on piers with crawlspace). Closed the open space and no more mice in the house. Thanks for what you do and post.

Shawn, you really need to find where the mice are getting into your ductwork and fix it. All that mouse pee and poop getting blown all through your house is awful.
Electrocution is actually more humane (and convenient) than live-catch traps where you drive the live mouse far from your house (and its nest and familiar territory) and leave it to be eaten by predators. I would recommend wearing disposable gloves to empty the traps.
This thing truly works! I was having pest problems and decided to buy one. It worked so well, I bought another for a friend. I'm just glad I'm not the one running into that trap.
We have one of these - works like a charm on our annual mouse visits in the garage (late summer to winter). If there's one mouse there's usually a few more. Put just the smallest peanut in there, and ZAP! Usually put fresh batteries in it as well, to ensure it would have most zapping.
What a great video. This has to be one of the best mousetraps I've seen, because there is no mess like from a spring-loaded trap, it's easy to empty, and has a notification light. Just a great job in sharing this!
I understand your concern about the health hazard those mice pose. I recommend cleaning and sealing your ducts. There's no good reason for there to be any gap in the system. Aside from your furnace blowing whatever mouse excrement is in the ducts into the rest of your house, your heating system can't be operating properly with such leaks.There are companies dedicated to such things.

I hope you find out where in your ventilation system they are getting in. Assuming it's not just the floor vent. That seems like a big problem, with urine and feces getting blown throughout your house causing raspatory illness. You'll definitely want to get that resolved ASAP. If possible make a quick video of you finding it and fixing it.
Along with mice getting in, you're losing heated air at the entry point. Time to make the heating ducts air and mouse proof, and have them cleaned out.

I have a different brand of electric mousetrap for my apartment. I caught a mouse about 2 hours after placing it. I was just on my computer and heard BZZZZZZZ!! from the kitchen. Also, a little more dangerous but considering how they are coming through the floor grate, and running freely back and forth over it, could just electrify the grate.
He has demoed more than 1000 traps by this point, but since they have chosen to invade the house, there was no choice but to summon the beast. Especially since deer mice are the ones most often carrying hantavirus and fleas.
I got one based on this video since my mice aren’t triggering the snap traps. It’s totally effective! It shocks them for a lot longer than I thought it would-a full minute. So it’s super unpleasant to be around when it goes off but it does the job.
A simple question, Shawn, if I may. You stated at the beginning that the mice seem to have access to the duct-work below the house, and thus appear in the living area through the floor heater grill. Wouldn't it be easier to find the entry point below the house and seal it? I'm thinking this zapping of native mice could go on for a VERY long time, especially if native deer mice are coming to the home from surrounding fields and woodland. Very effective trap, though. Glad I subscribed to watch your many experiments and product testing. !
That could also just end up being a wild goose chase. It's possible there's no way to access the route they use without tearing everything up, even if it is possible to figure out where it is.
I do love these electric traps. Haven't tried this brand, but other rat and mice ones. Big flaw is electronics on top get peed on and trap becomes junk quickly.
Which do you like better this one or the Vector electric mouse trap. 2 bad I didn't see this one. The compartment looks bigger. So the mouse may be easier to empty. My recent catch was stuck. I curious if I got another tonight since I work nights. The house is empty for 11 to 13 hours on work nights.

we've caught 6 in a week with this trap. The mice had gotten too smart with all the other types of traps we've used
never had problems with catching mice on a simple glue trap , caught 3 on 1 glue trap once , they looked like they would play twister.

I got one based on this video since my mice aren’t triggering the snap traps. It’s totally effective! It shocks them for a lot longer than I thought it would-a full minute. So it’s super unpleasant to be around when it goes off but it does the job.

A simple question, Shawn, if I may.
You stated at the beginning that the mice seem to have access to the duct-work below the house, and thus appear in the living area through the floor heater grill.
Wouldn't it be easier to find the entry point below the house and seal it?
I'm thinking this zapping of native mice could go on for a VERY long time, especially if native deer mice are coming to the home from surrounding fields and woodland.

It's possible there's no way to access the route they use without tearing everything up, even if it is possible to figure out where it is.
best will be to let snakes live under house (non venomous of course).

I do love these electric traps. Haven't tried this brand, but other rat and mice ones. Big flaw is electronics on top get peed on and trap becomes junk quickly.

Which do you like better this one or the Vector electric mouse trap. 2 bad I didn't see this one. The compartment looks bigger. So the mouse may be easier to empty. My recent catch was stuck. I curious if I got another tonight since I work nights. The house is empty for 11 to 13 hours on work nights.
I put 6 Vector traps in my garage and was able to catch a lot of mice.
