Omg! Omg! Omg! 😱😱😱I’ve been wishing for the extrait version and never even knew that it was on the works. Thanks for always giving us fair and detailed comparisons, always mentioning “your preference” or “your opinion”, as we are all different in both. I will definitely get it, as from my experience getting the extrait version of Pas Ces Soir and Gris Charnel, BDK does not stray away from the original dna. 💜💜💜
I'd like to smell it. I have the OG and I really like it. I want Pas ce soir extrait. If it's strong like that, then they did a good job with rogue smoking. I love beast mode. I would only purchase the rouge smoking extrait if it is beast mode. 😊
Finally, i knew you would be one of the first to review it, and i love that because i really appreciate your opinion! I was very excited for that launch, as many i was hoping to get a more amped up, slightly deeper version of the OG, but your description also sounds intriguing to me. I heard someone say it reminds of a deeper, cherry forward Velvet Tonka, do you agree with that? I‘m looking forward to try it next week while visiting London, because here in Germany it isn‘t available yet for trying. PS: i also love your top, i guess you bought it in Japan?
Just back from Selfridges - I still prefer the OG, it's just mesmerising and so unique... the new one the added bits kind of spoilt it for me especially the Peru balsam ..wish they just made it stronger 😅
I'm so curious to try the Extrait version! I have the original one, and also Gris Charnel and Pas Ce Soir and I love them all. Rouge Smoking is so sexy! I usually have longevity issues and have heard they don't last very long, but fortunately I didn't have that problem. Thanks for the review!
They are almost completely different in my opinion ☺️ I definitely prefer original … and I think not all perfumes have to have gooooood longevity. Some beauties are beautiful as how they are 😂
I agree, not every perfume has to be a beast mode fragrance. Although I feel like my skin usually "drinks up" perfumes, with the exception of "known" beast mode fragrances such as Hibisbus Mahajad for example, but I never had performance issues with that one or with other BDK perfumes I tried. That said, I usually don't judge longevity based on freshly opening a bottle.
@@selinsahin4520 My skin does tend to be more dry, although not very dry. I always use a body lotion or body oil after I shower and that helps some. I also think the best indicator is so ask other people if they can smell us, because sometimes we get nose blind and mistakengly think the performance isn't good.
An extrait should have at LEAST good longevity, especially for the price. When the perfume is gone in 2 hours, that's a quality issue. I was really interested in this, but hearing everyone be disappointed by the longevity and projection has really put me off. I'd rather they came out with a 30ml Gris Charnel!
Actually watching on my mobile (which I never do) as I'm so intrigued about this comparison! I avoided the original for ages as didn't think I'd like it, then eventually smelt it and loved it. Bought it a few weeks ago as even though I thought I *should* wait for the extrait. I saw the notes for the extrait and it sounded like it was going to be much more leathery/heavy/patchouli so intrigued to hear your thoughts!
I personally find them quite different, the patchouli is quite heavy which is similar to Pas ce Soir Extrait. I am actually happy that this extrait isn't redundant and that it has noticeable differences. I would wear them for different occasions for sure.
It’s up to everyone’s discretion what they chose to do with their money but I urge everyone considering to purchase a BDK perfume to look into the man behind this company, what his values and rhetoric are like in relation to current crisis in the Middle East and what he actually stands for. I’m not a fan of boycotts for essential goods but at £175 per bottle I think how you chose to spend your money matters
The man behind the company supports the only democracy in the ME and has gotten death threats for it. Where people aren't persecuted to death for their skin color, religious belief or sexual orientation. (I'm guessing you didn't know there's a neighborhood called Abeed, meaning "slave" in Gaza, where the black Gazan live. Not to mention their sex slave trade). He's against terrorists invading that country along with "innocent civilians" and UNRWA workers, and proceeding to r@pe, torture, maim, kidnap, burn and murder every baby, child, man, woman they could find, plus their dogs and cats. And announcing they'll do it again and again until there are no Jews left. And then they want to globalize it. Learn some Arabic before you virtue signal on social media, the only solution they want is to kill Jews and establish a world caliphate. They oppress their own people with their Sharia and treat women like second class citizens. Publicly hanging people from electricity polls and lynching them while recording it on their phones. It's funny how so called progressive liberal lot support terrorists (who are not that different to ISIS, just with better PR and funds from the Islamic Republic, Russia and donations from useful idiots), because you've been brainwashed to believe their made up history and to think they're "oppressed" for starting war after war and losing. BTW, Most if not all the people who were massacred or kidnapped were people who wanted peace with their neighbors, volunteered to take sick Gazan children to get treatments in Israeli hospitals that are far more advanced, because Israel doesn't invest all its money in terror.
I think a few might feel the same. I am kind of glad it is not the same to be honest. Have you tried layering Velvet Tonka with Rouge Smoking? It will enhance the longevity
Would you recommend this for a man? I have Gris Charnel, which i love and i'm very intriqued by this release. I do personal prefer unisex fragrances compared to what some would describe as "manly"
Extrait is more oil, you are right there. The notes are different for this fragrance though so it is more complex than that. Don’t think of Extrait as simply turning up the volume, it’s rather more nuanced than that. An extrait will stay on your skin for far longer than an EDP, but it may not project as much as a general rule.
The only thing I will say is that Duchessa doesn't have the ambery, oud and patchouli base. I would say Rouge Smoking Extrait is a little less sweet overall and a little more mysterious. They offer a similar vibe overall though.
The longevity of Rouge smoking was appalling. 1 hour max. Brands take customers for a ride unfortunately as most people buy at stores based on the top notes

My og rough smoking has gotten stronger over time and last about 8 hours now.

Great review! I’ve definitely been looking for a good cherry scent for a while now but haven’t sampled too many. Your top is so cute!! 🍒

@ same for me. I have very dry skin, maybe because of that. But it is ok 👍🏼 Guidance is really monster

Thanks for your review. I almost got a full bottle of Rouge Smoking, but wondered about the Extrait.

I don’t understand the comments on poor longevity, I don’t have that issue at all with the Extrait. I am surprised others do to be honest

Thanks Hayley! I was very excited to hear about this! But, I was just hoping for the OG Rouge Smoking with better performance. 😢

@@hayley.cloughOh wow-I’m trying that just for curiosity! ❤
Finally!! I’ve been searching for a review before purchasing 😅
Would you recommend this for a man? I have Gris Charnel, which i love and i'm very intriqued by this release. I do personal prefer unisex fragrances compared to what some would describe as "manly"
Absolutely! My husband actually wears the original Rouge Smoking and I love it on him but I would say the extrait is even more unisex.
Is it more Nutty? I see they add almonds
I think no. It is wooder and deeper like dark cherry and ambery. But not more nutty.
Isn’t extract just for the longevity…. more oil means less beast mode??

Does the extrait compare to Duchessa by Gritti? ❤
Quite comparable in the dry down, the opening not so much. It has that same dark cherry vibe about it, very sexy
@@hayley.cloughthank you! I have duchessa so not sure both are different enough from the sound of it. The opening sounds lovely though 🍒

@@hayley.clough thanks! It sounds worth a sample then. I like the sound of it. Thanks for your review x
💄💄💄What is your lipstick in this video? 💄💄💄💄
Wonderskin lip stain in Whimsical with MAC Honeylove over the top. I lined my lips with the lip stain too 😁
Enough with the "demure" crap.
It is a simple word to describe something and nothing to do with the trend 🙈
The longevity of Rouge smoking was appalling. 1 hour max. Brands take customers for a ride unfortunately as most people buy at stores based on the top notes
I get more than 1 hour, I guess we all will get different performance but I get at least 5-6 hours with a low projection.
@hayley.clough lucky you
