Soooooo glad I found these videos. You could teach a 2 year old. Your lectures are WAY better than my professor. I don't even listen to him in class I jut put my headphones on and watch this. I wish you could teach me everything.

I am so happy that I clicked on your video. My professor rambles about throughout her videos making it very difficult to stay engaged. You're straight forward and informative and this has given me so much understanding of the Microbial World. THANK YOU!!!

I just watch these videos because they are fascinating!
I was very sick from breast implants, and through my research, naturopaths and support groups, I found a lot of info that enabled me to understand the various illnesses and infections that attacked my body throughout every system. This is awesome to watch, even though it sickens me.
It took a long time, eliminating sugar and gluten, among other things. A capsule firms around the implants to protect the body, and when they were removed, the tissue had formed a hard enclosure that looked like overdone bacon.

Hi Dr. Kerschen! Thank you for taking the time to post your lectures for others to watch. I've enjoyed listening to your lectures and watching your mini videos. My professor is a wonderful person and does a great job, but she's not always able to explain in simpler terms and concepts like you are. I've learned a lot from your lectures already and look forward to learning even more. :) P.S. I've sent many of my fellow students to you as well.

Hey Dr Jim. Thanks for the AWESOME content. I need a text book. Im already a qualified TCM and Natruopath. However I had to leave my libary in Australia when I moved to the Pacific North West. Anyway, love your style of lecture, where do you teach? any online labs? I have a microscope that I got to study my soil as an avid permaculturist... and fell down the rabbit hole of the human, now being able to see it.... I may have gone a little crazy 😜 So any recomendations?

Question: Would it be possible to put a plasmid into a human cell (or into the genome, don't know what would have more sense)? If so, what would be the effects?
Question: The only difference between subspecies and strain is the criterium (serotype, phagotype, pathotype vs. structure/ metabolism)?
It is also a matter of hierarchy, meaning that I can have Species--> Subspecies --> Strain but never Species--> Strain--> Subspecies?
I enjoy your explanations; hopefully you made some videos for neuroanatomy or histology, too.

I've been searching everywhere. I'm trying to start a business and it requires lab testing. Do you think you would be willing to help me? They didn't give me a pass or fail and told me it's up to me. They didn't even formulate it into a whole number to a certain power. I have one lab that had a massive Total plate count (1,300,000) but every other bacteria salmonella, E coli, coliforms were just fine, then I got another test where the plate counts and everything was fine but the coliforms were 13,000. I'm having trouble understanding. I have asked so many people any won't anyone help me.

I have to disagree somewhere, you said that prokaryotes are simple, but even though they look simple they actually have complexed processes that happens on gene regulation level ad everything is also very strictly managed. Think about it
