    Great video, man. Thanks for the love!
    To provide a bit more insight, the reason that the predators don’t face actual charges when we catch them has nothing to do with the evidence not being gathered correctly or the operation not being done formally and professionally, as some claim (we’ve been told by detectives that we do everything to protocol for the most part), but is usually because the DA just doesn’t want to pursue the cases for whatever reason. Could be because we’re just civilians and they don’t take it seriously. I’ve also been told that in some cases there’s no way to prove that the individual sent the messages in the chatlog which I don’t really understand. Also in some states, it’s literally not a crime if they weren’t talking to an actual young person or a law enforcement official. It’s a combination of those things.
    We do get individuals charged in some cases though, it’s just rare.
    At this point, I never expect the cops to actually do anything. It’s hit or miss. I just call them so RUclips doesn’t take the video down and give me a strike.
    All I can really do is expose them and hope that they never try it again.

    A really great predator catcher on here is Mike Fox. He actually makes sure to get a legal team involved and looks into if law enforcement are already doing an investigation on a person if he makes contact, and keeps them in the loop with all his proof, only releasing the stories and the rundowns of what he did to catch this person when the conviction has gone through and courts say he's allowed to release the video.

      Gotta appreciate when someone goes through the extra effort to make sure they go behind bars. I know that might not be on the table for everyone, especially if they have a local police department that doesn't want to help "vigilantes". I agree with this on so many levels. Cause honestly these things on youtube is this the way they get their pedo's or predators is simple but also backfires. See believe it not lawyers can use the fact that they were enticed and entrapped in the home and thus since they can also add onto the fact there was no child. Those predators can get away. To make it worse if i am memorizing stuff right 12 out of all the predators hansen caught used that with their lawyers to get out of jail time.

    The small town I live in here in Pa we had a "predator hunter"run a sting at the local Walmart. They pretended to be a 14 year old girl and had the guy meet them inside WalMart. They got video following the guy around and then they confronted inside the store. They got the guy arrested and they almost went to jail with him. The cops were furious that he put the public in danger by confronting this guy in inside a busy WalMart. The police made a valid point to the local paper when they said that these guys had no ideal whether this predator guy had brought a weapon with him when he came to the store.

    Even if they don’t go to jail, at the very least there are people who will be keeping a close eye on them. And not only does it deter them from continuing and maybe they seek psychiatric help, but also it deters other predators from acting, simply out of fear. Saying “you’ll go to jail if you do this” hits a lot harder in a video that gets a lot of attention and being skeeted in 4k.

    • @Chaoitcme
      @Chaoitcme Год назад +1

      Friends, family members, and employers will see these videos. Even if they don't get criminally charged their lives are still going to be directly impacted as friends, loved ones, and co-workers/employers cut ties with them after seeing a video of them online being confronted for soliciting children.

    • @EventhorizonShadows
      @EventhorizonShadows 6 месяцев назад

      This may work for some, but overall it's not enough. Some of these ppl have already harmed children. All this does is teach them to be smarter. There is no fixing a predators brain.
      Somewhere along the line as a child it got messed up, when their brain stops growing at 25 years old, the neurons solidify. Which makes change much harder.
      Compare to any miserable 30 year old compared to a 7 year old who today wants to be Batman & tomorrow wants to be a nascar driver and believes it wholeheartedly.
      Thats the difference in brain development. I'm not saying it's impossible, but pedophiles are just broken people who don't want help.

      Most of them don't follow legal standards and tank their cases before ever getting law enforcement involved. Skeeter is one of those even if he doesn't realize it. By harassing, intimidating and trying to humiliate instead of actually interviewing and getting the predator to admit to what they're trying to do, the case is based on at best a forced confession. Instead of having concrete proof, they have chat logs, which can be explained away, are easy to fake and will be automatically rejected by the court without further evidence to actually tie the individual to the crime. Whereas if you do what Chris Hansen and Alex Rosen do, actual interviews without attempts at intimidation or harassment and get a confession, the prosecutor isn't going to have to strut through a minefield to get somewhere. There isn't much of a defense to be had if a guy admits he's the one in the logs and he was there to do what he said just because he was politely asked. Skeeter as an example surrounds the place with security, makes fun of, intimidates and talks down to the people he catches because it gets him views. What it doesn't get them is a place on the registry, prison time or felon status that will mark their name and prevent them from getting anywhere in life instead of having a group of dedicated stalkers follow them around.

    Honestly i feel like even though youtubers ruin the investigation theyre still doing something positive. Most predators barely get a slap on the wrist and everyone forgets who they are. When a big youtuber calls them out, yeah they won't go to jail, but thousands or even millions of people will have seen their face and what they've done. The constant harassment, never being able to keep a job etc is a bigger punishment imo

      Predator Poachers has arrests in 46 states and convictions in 29 states (those numbers seem small but you have to remember they have double digit catch numbers in many of those states). I agree with what you're saying for a lot of them, 19 year old Alex Rosen was kind of that way but at 23 he's so professional and really has a solid system. And a work ethic that I didn't know a fat boy could have. And you're totally right, ruining the life is often worse. Alex confronted a pred at work and called his boss, and turned over the evidence to law enforcement. That night, the boss seized the computer and phone from the employee and gave it to the police. Said employee did a Kurt Cobain impression later that night. We all know he didn't paint his brains on the wall because he was innocent.

I am glad someone is getting their names and faces out there. Being informed is the best way for us to protect our children. Especially if the police have their hands tied without a complaining witness.

But even the cops show up and say "yeah our bosses aren't sure what we do with these cases" and just don't DO anything. Even when they reach out to PD beforehand, half the time they go "sorry hands are tied".

    I wouldn’t say chris Hansen was ineffective at all. Because despite the fact that police refused to work with him, he didn’t even just put the internet on predators, he really shifted how at least American parents were aware of the actions.
    My dad’s dad never believed him when he said something was happening or talked about the warning signs we have now after that show brought it into the public eye. A lot of parents genuinely were helpless about protection before the show at least from what I hear

      Blame the RUclipsrs. They aren’t doing this because it’s right, they are doing it for clout, clicks, and money.
      In my state, law enforcement will take out charges, however, the person who was talking to the predator has to show up for court as a witness and the electronic device that they were communicating on has to be seized as it’s evidence. You know how many of those guys would be willing to do those 2 things? Not many. They are just in it for videos, not convictions, not to put bad people away, and certainly not because it’s the right thing to do.

      Moist Critikal said bad things about the Alex and the EDP situation, so Alex must be malicious and terrible in every way. Ignore all of his successful arrests. These RUclips “To Catch a Predator” clones are better than nothing, but I don’t think they are a suitable alternative to punishing people like this. Sure, in the moment they are humiliated and in the short term their lives can be ruined, becoming a social pariah, but with time people will pretty much forget about them. Meanwhile they remain free to do whatever they want, potentially hurting even more people. At least through the legal system, they will have a record that will follow them throughout the rest of their lives.
