"President Barack Obama may be convinced he could have bested Donald Trump in a race to the White House, but the president-elect says “no way!”
Trump took to Twitter Monday to shoot down Obama’s claim that he could have beaten the Republican candidate in a head-to-head race had the president not been prohibited by law from running for a third term.
Obama told his former senior advisor, David Axelrod, on his podcast, “The Axe Files,” that he believes his vision of a “tolerant and diverse and open” America could have garnered enough votes for yet another victory.
“I’m confident that if ... I had run again and articulated it, I think I could’ve mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it,” Obama said.
Trump thinks not and claims the president had too much negative baggage for another win. “I say NO WAY,” Trump tweeted, adding: “jobs leaving, ISIS, OCare, etc.”

Obama didn't shade 20 - 30 year olds during the election, Hillary kinda did without knowing. If Obama didn't endorse a candidate, Cenk would have said classic half measure Obama. When Bernie (who I was in favor of) LOST, most people who supported him cried their way to a Trump victory and then pretended as if they are shocked. The Democratic party holds responsibility for the Trump victory, as well as the Bernie or bust or the "too pure"/"I don't trust her" people who stayed home or switched side and now regrets it.

Just a small piece of data (because I don't comment on stuff I don't know about): since we are talking about the youth vote, combined Clinton lost the election in the "swing" states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn by way less than a percent of the total vote and the youth vote was down 5% compared to 2012. If that 5% percent had turned out, what do you think would have happened? However, as I said, Clinton holds much of the responsibility but left-leaning voters are supposed to be the smarter ones and I guess "how I feel" was of greater importance on election day.

I have always been an independent voter, but re-registered as a Democrat, just so I could vote in Democratic primaries.
Bernie got 46%, even with Independents locked out in many states. Even with DNC malfeasance, and a near-total media blackout, he still got 46%! Hypothesis: If independents had not been vote-blocked, Bernie would have been the nominee. Possible solution: About 42% of registered voters are "Independent". If the progressive independents re-register as Democrat, we can easily outnumber the conservative corporate block. They have the money, but we have the numbers. Remember, registered Democrats can always vote Independent, but Independents may not be able to vote as Democrats. Forget the third party. Let's just take over this dinosaur, and run it.
