As a conservative who does not consume TYT much, this version of Cenk when he's not screaming and raging his way thru a debate with people he ideologically disagrees with is by far the best Cenk. This was a very solid and mature exchange of differing ideas. Both Charlie and Cenk behaved politely and didn't talk over each other

Agreed! I'm a regular listener, and I know that he can be very fair minded like this (and will give credit to Republicans when they do or say things he agrees with), but I think he and his listeners can see him as the voice to our outrage. I'm sure both sides can understand the cathartic value of that, but the screaming gets tiresome, and in interviews in particular, I want more of this Cenk.

I have watched TYT for years and his screaming annoys me as well. He can often sound whiny.
Totally not a TYT fan, but this show just gave me goosebumps! No vitriol, no chess games, but seeking common ground and true interest in each other's perspectives. A true mature discussion with mutual reverence. Hats off TYT!

They got a new sub from me. Never thought it would be possible. I have always said that I actually like Ana and Cenk is, at the very least, entertaining.
I’m a trump supporter and this conversation was civil and handled like adults.
It was really nice to see that. They had well-established disagreements, but they hunted down the common ground and I think the less adversarial dynamic allowed for a lot more common ground and even making concessions to points that I don't think would have happened in a more adversarial setting. I think we all could benefit from trying to be like this with each other more often.

It's great Cenk that you are reaching out to right wingers and having civil conversations. We all need to do better and listen to each other.
Unfortunately our politics is so toxic in this country that I have to disagree with you here. It's the equivalent of having a civil conversation with a rapist about treating women with respect. The rapist is all acting all nice and respectful and smiling and making a lot of great points but it's all BS
Charlie Kirk is one of the top propagandists in this country. One of his great skills is the duality of his personality. Right now you're seeing his good guy character. He's very smart sounds reasonable and makes great points. He appears the way things should be. We disagree ideologically but that's okay right? However if you want to see the real Charlie Kirk just listen to him on his live podcast. Then you'll see how unhinged and soulless this guy actually is.
Our country is pretty much being overtaken by propaganda. Left-wing right wing now we have this enlightened centrist wing. It is absolutely crucial that we the voters be very well informed about all the tricks that these people play otherwise you're going to end up being deceived. Why do you think so many people like Donald Trump? Not all of them are bad people. Some of them get caught up in his spell because you'll say things that sound good and appeal to their emotions. Charlie Kirk is a much more smooth version of that so at least now you know how some Trump supporters feel. Exactly the way you do right now. To them he's making great points They don't agree with everything he says but at least he seems to care about the country and blah blah blah...

We even had a civil war that claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans. Aaron Burr shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel while he was the sitting VP. Might want to brush up on your American history a bit.
That being said, I always appreciate a respectful discussion, even if Kirk is nothing more than a radical Christian fundamentalist with no original ideas and an obsolete vision of America.
If the media conducted interviews like this instead of focusing on gotcha moments, the country would be more productive and peaceful.

I don’t see a problem with this, people need to get over the division. No fan of Kirk, but TYT is at the RNC they are doing news and commentary. If they can have a cordial debate with someone from the other political spectrum, And have discussions about common ground both sides can agree. That’s a good thing.

It used to be that way. It was common place to invite and debate the issues but now it's an assault or name calling and the only thing it accomplished is to drive the divide further apart to what we see now. Pure rage and hate for the other side no matter what the issue is.

Cenk do more interviews like this. FAR more common ground than most people realize. This was such a great discussion. I'm an independent voting for Trump, and I've been watching Cenk and Ana a lot over the past 6 months or so and never realized how much I agree with a lot of what they say.
One of the first times I've watched a full TYT opposing discussion without Cenk losing his cool and frothing at the mouth. Good to see

Im shocked that Cenk isnt in his feelings and screaming. I like that they are having a light hearted conversation and being able to joke with each other without being offended.
Charlie Kirk is the definition of “a soft answer turns away wrath” . If you answer calmly it’s hard to respond with anger. This was a refreshing discussion to not have that yelling
Cenk wears many hats and does many jobs. One of those jobs is being entertaining as a social media influencer/tv political analyst/commentator. For the medium, short video interviews/debates on political talk/news shows….playing a character like a pro wrestler is a most, you have to get a short simple repeatable catchy message across being very animated. You got a short amount of time.
Cenk is not really like in real life and does not act the way when he doesn’t need to. This was one such situation. Cenk has a JD, was a lawyer, good business man, and used to a very conservative republican. He understands the views that he does not agree with and knows the real logical factual reason hold them.
Cenk is much more centrist on a ton of issues even to the right. He toned it down but he used to completely dismantle leftist uneducated and non reality based opinions on business/finance/economics.
We need more of these types of conversations and discussions. It’s so refreshing to hear politically opposite figures in media have respectful dialogue without insults, shouting and emotions overshadowing it. More of this!
As someone that’s always hated the Young Turks I can truly say I enjoyed this. Cenk and Anna are slowly becoming people I can stand to watch

This is pretty much the blueprint for how all political conversations should be conducted. Both sides exchanged ideas while remaining respectful and also being intellectually honest enough to admit when the other side presented a valid point.
This is the exact kind of discussions we need more of.
Cenk, Ana, & Charlie, that was magnificent! Beautiful model of discourse. They treated one another like friends without sacrificing their opinion.

I remember talking like this with friends in my 20s which was 30 years ago. We still went to the lake, hung out at parties, visited each other's homes, and hell...dated each other. I am a conservative and would prefer this, rather than what it has been like for the past 10 years now. Common ground is good. Props to TYT for hanging out with Charlie.

Usually try to avoid TYT stuff because I've seen plenty of Cenk acting in an unsavory way, but with Ana having 2 great civil discussions with Ben Shapiro and Cenk's words after Trump's assassination attempt, I decided to give this video a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. I understand that arguments sells, but I will always tune in for stuff like this. More good-faith civil discourse like this, please.

Dayuuuum this conversation was soooo refreshing. Agree with one or the other side, debate, disagree, find some common ground. And all that with respect and not calling the other side weird nicknames or a threat to democracy. There is hope.

This was good. It's refreshing to see media personalities from different ends of the political spectrum having a debate without shouting and trying to score "gotchas".
Conversations like this are super refreshing and why I don’t watch mainstream political commentary. Intelligence, well spoken, and cordial. And it’s was fascinating to see how similar political opinions can be.
