  • @gorockets404
    @gorockets404 7 лет назад +2

    I went to this race. The grid walk before the race and being able to drive a couple laps on the track with the ford corral was pretty cool. Yeah, it was hot and they needed to open up more concession stands for food and water, but other than that I had a great time. was able to see the new Camaro gt4 and the mustang gt4 up close which was nice. The corvette was loud as f@k. Being able to see the Ferrari, lambo, Porsche, bmw, mclaren, Mercedes, ford gt etc in the paddocks was fun. The Cadillac kicked everyone in the weathertech race on sat.

    It's a shame there is Acura, Mercedes, BMW, Lamborghini in IMSA and not in WEC... Imagine the 24 hours of Le Mans with 8 GT constructors, what a battle it will be !

      The M6 is not a real GTE car and not homolgated which is why they were unable to participate in the past couple of years, so I doubt it will be with an M6. At the very least it won't be that M6.

      Only IMSA GTLM cars qualify for GTE Pro and GTE Am classes in WEC not GTD (GT3 Spec). GT3 spec cars are not eligible.

    • @Ewane
      @Ewane 5 лет назад +1

      Cesare Stern most of those have GT3 cars, which aren't eligible at Le Mans, but don't have GTE cars.

  • @henrychapman4298
    @henrychapman4298 7 лет назад +4

    Imsa is so much better than WEC. My favourite thing is the variety of race lengths. In the first 4 races we've had 4 different race lengths and in completely diverse tracks. With WEC it's the 6 hours of this F1 track and one 24 hour race. And every race offer Le Mans it's kind of like the ACO don't care about them

    sure would have been nice to watch this LIVE.......in the USA.......where the series actually RACES. honestly - so frustrating, you guys are probably losing fans by doing it this way. but once again, the fans dont matter, as long as IMSA signs a big 'ol broadcast contract with FOX sports.

    • @larquefausse3623
      @larquefausse3623 7 лет назад +10

      I was upset about this, too. As a motorsport fan, I'm used to watching taped delays on TV, but why was the FSGo app also on delay? Not to mention that the app has trouble sometimes making it even more frustrating.
      I just gave up trying to watch this race until this YT upload. i already knew the results of the race a good 48 hours before watching the race itself.
      I get that IMSA sold off their TV rights in the US, but they really should renegotiate their contract if their clients can't broadcast live for some reason and allow their US fans to stream the races live on ISMAtv.

    I'm continuing to be amazed on how IMSA is going...while I still miss the DP cars from the past, I feel better about the DPi cars especially the Caddy's (just give the championship trophy to the #10 and WTR)...they've got the power and durability. Always been a fan of Chevy and Chevy-affiliated cars especially Corvette Racing; but, the Corvettes are getting some lucky wins (how long is it going to last though). Can't wait for Detroit and Belle Isle...

    I personally went to the event in Austin. The races are good but the event is so badly organized. There was one concession stand at the grand plaza. Took 1 hour to get water in the Texas heat. I say this because if you see the stand they are almost empty and it is because the experiences at these races are not great unless it is formula 1. I want these races to last a long time in Texas and the organization should get better in order to make the experience better for families to attend. Open Paddocks is great, but the rest needs a lot of work. More sponsors should be invited to make the even mote lively. Unless you are VIP, you dont have the greatest experience. I hope you to take this opinion, IMSA, as a way to improve the fan's experience. Thanks.

    • @charliekiger
      @charliekiger 7 лет назад

      I had the same experience at VIR last year in Virginia. No organization at all. Even the event staff had no idea where anything was. Like, put some signs up or something. I was so excited to get to go, but that killed it for me.

      The stands need more shade. Spectating at turns 12-15 is a death sentence for a midday race. There were better amenities when IMSA and WEC were paired together.

    great coverage, IMSA crew is the best. I'm so tired of the crappy ford drivers diving into corners and spinning people out, they need to penalize them like they did Robert Alon. Take out half the class and nothing?

    @8:15 I noticed that BMW #25 braked hard coming up the hill into Turn 1 when #24 cuts across his path into the apex.
    It looks to me like the #66 Ford was evading hitting the rear of the #25 BMW when he sideswipes the #67 Ford right before the apex. This is what caused the #67 Ford to plow into the left rear of the #62 Ferrari. #62 spins, clips the #66 right taillight, and then gets T-boned by the #4 Corvette, which itself spins and is T-boned by #912 Porsche. Finally #912 is rear-ended by #16 Lamborghini.
    ...Long story short, I blame the #25 BMW for thinking he could slip to the inside of his teammate and pass on the very first turn of the race.

  • @nwigchert10
    @nwigchert10 7 лет назад +9

    How is ford NOT banned? Love how he just pulled over and got out. #67 did its job for the day...least damage car from incident yet only one to not even attempt to make it to pits....DIRTY JUST DIRTY. BOTH OF THOSE FORDS MADE NO ATTEMPT AT THE APEX! SHAMEFUL! I think FORD forgot they ONLY had 2 cars for this race. xD (Watching the PIT work on the 912 was BEAUTIFUL BTW!)

    • @bowelrupture
      @bowelrupture 7 лет назад

      For Ford there is only one race at the calender that is important. The race for which the GT is purposely build. Le Mans. Ford doesn't give that much about Spa, Long Beach, Silverstone, Monterey, Petit Le Mans, Lime Rock.... Le Mans. That is why they have the numbers #66 till #69. That is why they are fast on straights, have a great fuel mileage and excellent aero efficiency.

    • @alexclark1695
      @alexclark1695 7 лет назад

      Erwin good fuel mileage is good for any car, less pitstops to do more time saved. Everyone needs to be fast on the straight it's called a race for a reason. And they may care more about le mans but every car manufacture does that races their, but they still want to win as many races as possible.

    • @MarcMonson

      Ever since Westbrook won at Leguna Seca using just one pit, they decided to downsize their tanks. They actually have among the best fuel mileage, but BoP still have jurisdiction over size of fuel tanks too.

    • @brosk1s883
      @brosk1s883 7 лет назад +3

      joshuacaleb gascon GTLM (FIA GTE)and GTD (downgraded FIA GT3) aren't racing the prototypes, they're racing for a respective win in their classes, which is GTLM and GTD. The DPi and LMP2 cars are the only ones racing for the overall win, and that's the way it should be

    • @Ewane
      @Ewane 5 лет назад +1

      joshuacaleb gascon I don't understand quite what you are saying, maybe rewrite it. But this is multi-class racing, the Prototypes are in seperate classes to the GT cars.

    • @csonkaperdido
      @csonkaperdido 3 года назад

      If what you wrote was even remotely understandable, I would have a decent reply.
      I think you're complaining that the GT cars are slower than the Prototype cars?
      You do realize that's exactly what is supposed to happen, right?
      This isn't Nascar, the cars aren't identical for a reason.
      There's different classes of cars racing at the same time.
      4 races going on at the same time.
      Top class - DPi... Which are basically lmp2 chassis with different bodywork and more power than lmp2. Not quite as fast as the lmp1 cars from Le Mans and WEC. They're SUPPOSED to win the race lol
      2nd fastest = Lmp2
      3rd fastest = GTLM
      4th fastest (aka slowest) = GTD

    • @csonkaperdido
      @csonkaperdido 3 года назад

      By the way, your stupid Bugatti would get absolutely spanked by even the slowest car on the track lol
      There's no such thing as a racing version of a Veyron or Koenigsegg. Those are not race cars. Those are road cars.
      Just stick to playing Forza there kid. Or read a book about multi class sports car racing and you may learn something.
      You must either be extremely stupid or like 8 years old.
