You are incredibly skilled. I never liked the ending theme of Metroid 2 until you touched it. It's because you don't just re-do the music, you actually add to it. It's a shame you have so few views, more people need to see this.
@rndowen01 Thanks man, Sonar for the composition, the realism was the difficult part which required weeks of trial and error mostly. Runs were all done manually, used a few libraries like EWQLSO (there's more about all the stuff I use on my website)
That little motif at 3:43 to 3:52, with that mixolydian dip, has always been one of my favorite lankmarks on the Metroid series soundscape. The Metroid II ending theme in general always struck me as truer to Samus' hallmarks of stoic heroism and perseverance than the theme in Super Metroid specifically named for her. This version of the Metroid II ending theme is the best orchestration of that piece I've ever heard, and one of the few arrangements that isn't simply a diluted or overpowered remix of the original. The whole medley is soooo good.
People always say that video game music is just the same 5 notes played over and over. This album, my fellow Metroid fans, is a triumphant collection of proof that video game music is art. This music should be used in a game at one point or another. This is Death Recon of the MDb forums, if you wanted to know. Play on
Did people ever really say that video game music is just 5 notes over and over again? Im Millenial/Gen Z so maybe I just wasnt born long enough ago to hear that. I have always known that videogame/movie music is art. I guess I just always assumed everyone else knew that too.
Downloaded the full album and this track was my favorite. Just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for your dedication, I hope to hear more of your Metroid work.
This is simply AMAZING. o_O I mean, WOW! I get overwhelmed with tears of joy when I hear this. It's epic. It's beautiful. It's sweeping. It's definitely fitting of the Metroid series. If we ever get an epic Metroid movie, THIS is the kind of theme I imagine being used for it. We can only hope the film would be as incredible as this musical suite.
@neutralbobomb Nah that ain't me, I'm too lazy for aliases, so my stuff's always under my own name hehe. Orchestral Sonic remixes? Sweet, might have to check that out sometime.
Fantastic, fantastic piece. Not sure if you feel inspired by, or were going for this feel, but I got a pretty strong sense of John Williams from the piece. To be sure, "large orchestral arrangement" does not John Williams make, but I could hear Jurassic Park in there :-). Either way, big kudos to you!
This song would be good at the beginning of a metroid movie, as they went over clips of past events to bring viewers up to speed. It'd be awesome... then again I don't want them making a metroid movie because I'm scared they'll ruin it
I think that the next metroid game should be either a sequel to fusion or a fps remake of the original, but no matter what, I wan't to hear orchestral music for the sound tracks. (and if they try to do a story driven game again, make it more like MP3, that narrative was good.)
Composing is when you structure something, the melody and such is already akwonledged, but the re-structure such as sound and melody has to be recreated in a different manner. Remixing is when you grab something that was already there but modify it, this is tribute made by scratch (technically) since the only thing that's taken from the othe main referred soundtrack is just it's melody
This is why music is an art form
now we need this updated with dreads credits in it
Thanks for the comments guys! :D

Ahhhh chillsssss
Metroid II has a beautiful ending
There's a reason there is not a dislike on this video to date. Stunning, this will leave you in flabbergasted awe.

Seriously, if they ever make a Metroid movie (and it doesn't end up being terrible), then this needs to be the ending and credits theme!
You fixed the Samus Returns ending theme! Awesome work thank you!
Insane that this came out twelve years ago. This is gorgeous.
Can't believe it's been that long O_o and thanks!
This NEEDS more views, stat.

absolutely stunning VERY VERY good job!!
Fun fact this guy did such a good job that actual composers couldn't tell this was a MIDI file.
wow, that takes real skill as far as I know
Can I get a link to your source on this?
So much memories, so many feelings - man this is AWESOME BEAUTIFUL work!!!

I have not favorited a video in at least half a year, probably more. Thank you for ending my drought. You have such a musical gift!
Amazing work. There is nothing more need to be said.
Magnific...
The last Metroid is in captivity the galaxy is at peace
awesome!

Looooove this song!
Just .. goosebumps.

100% awesome ;)
I'll be using this one for that same video (So Cold Metroid IV).

so nice

Well, your wish was granted :)
wow if they ever remade the original metroid or made a new metroid game that was really epic they should use your music!
I just realized I'm the same age as Samus.
All 36 of them.
Wow, ten years later and only 3 dislikes, epic.
what are dislikes?
Composed by Yamamoto Kenji?
Composed by SamDillard, it's below the title from the beginning to the last moment of the video, you should be able to read that
Man, you're dense. My post was about the fact that the composer of the track is not even cited. Remixing =/= composing.

It sounds (literally) a lot more like the latter to me.
keffypoo My opinion nor your are valid since it's something that's just a piece of art, music for the soul
This song I wait in of the ending credits of Samus Returns Nintendo 3DS.
Ending credits This song.
Nintendo pride no more.
I'm disappointed metroid one is wasted on the first movement.
