But it’s not all lost, I mean they still got a few years left, and we don’t know if they will or won’t renew their contacts. 2. People need to stop the romanticizing the struggle that K-pop idols face. Those stories are probably traumatic for those idols. Like who wants to be reminded of the fact that they had to work in subpar conditions, some idols couldn’t eat, working with injuries, and so much more. 3. The P1Harmony situation is sadly the reality of just Kpop and of that society. Overworking is just so normalize that the only way someone will take a break is if they get injured. (One of the members of P1 is sitting out of the America tour because of an injury). Bad management, the competitive nature of the K-pop industry, and sadly greed all intertwined to create a complex issue. 4. Seeing Idols under the age of like 17/18 just shock me. Like what do mean you’re 13? Being a Kpop idol is really labor intensive, not only mentally but physically. Even though, minors debuting has been around since gen 1, doesn’t make it any better, exploitation still exist. 5. SM needs to stop playing around. It’s getting ridiculous, just tell us. The fan outrage wouldn’t be so bad had they communicated, but they aren’t doing that. People tend to come to their own conclusions when there’s no communication.
2. Yessss, you do not have to struggle to have respect! Good music is good music. You don't have to be poor or come from a poor company to have an authentic vibe.

I hope they can turn it around but they need to pick a sound and stick to it to do that. #4: people always complain about companies debuting minors (as they should since they’re culpable too), but I often see no criticism of the parents. You know they likely are right there signing the contracts alongside their kids - in most countries you’d have to for a minor. So clearly they’re culpable too. And people always say “oh they’re just supporting their kids in their dreams.” I’m sorry, but you’re a parent. Your job is not giving your kid everything they want. Your job is to help them grow into a competent adult in a safe environment, and saying no to them being publicly exploited is one way you can help do that.

This is a personal opinion I have noticed between SM and JYP regarding their groups’ popularity and influence to the kpop industry: 1. SNSD / Twice = debuted with 9 members, breaking records for gg, the leading gg of their own generation, have a successful trio subunit (TTS and Misamo) 2. F(x) / Itzy = debuted with 5 members but have comebacks as 4, have 1 member struggling with extreme anxiety, have cool girl crushed concepts, all members are extremely talented but “failed” due to company’s mismanagement. 3. EXO / Stray Kids = breaking records for boy groups, have huge fandoms!!! 4. Red Velvet / NMixx = all members are well-rounded, have outstanding live vocals that are ridiculously underrated.
