Amazing what goats will do to help out, and they are happy doing it!
Do you separate the buck, or just let him breed when the does are ready?
Have a wonderful week, and thanks for sharing your journey.😅

Whether or not we separate the buck really depends on the year and our set up. At our previous farm, we tended to separate him with doe for company, that he could breed whenever, until we were ready to breed the others. Here, however, we just aren’t set up with permanent pens for that yet. So, nature gets to run her way until we are further along. Thankfully, it’s a bit warmer here, so the breeding season doesn’t seem to start until around September/October.

Who is Cedar? Every time I come back there are new dogs - Rosa is the only constant. I think I want to teach Cedar how to swim. Now I have another purpose for coming back. I don't think I have ever taught a dog to swim, but back in the 80's I used to make $15 /hr to teach children. If I get Cedar to swim, will you give me $30/hr - I could probably do it in 3 to 4 hours. See you soon. Keep my offer in mind.

Not only will I not pay you to teach Cedar to swim, I will CHARGE you a fencing fee if you do! Then, I can’t use water as natural barrier, and will have to go to additional expense and inconvenience to confine him! 🤣🤣🤣
