Just got this as a gift and same. I think sadly the temp is too low. Have learned with other ones that I need about 200-210 degrees celsius, whereas this only goes up to 185 for "protection" :/

Whoever has this GHD platinum straightener/Flat Iron.Can you tell me if it gets heated past 200 degrees...my hair is hard to curl .. my curling iron temp reads like at least 280 to 350 just under 400 degree
range .if it won't heat up past 200./300 My.Hair won't stay curled for a few hours...

For everyone saying this is fake, it is not. You have to practice a lot or maybe have your hair stylist show you and let you try in the salon. I curl people’s hair with a GHD flat iron all the time. It has taken me a while to get the technique down and I still mess up sometimes.

Mine too! Does someone know if it's because of the straightener. Because I know I'm doing the right movement but it doesn't slide smoothly.
Mines never slide is something wrong with my flatiron.. could it be product buildup? Is there a way that I can get that off so that it can slide down easy like that lines never slide it it gets stuck.
