Use a little electric hand held inflater/deflator. Sucks out all the air in the mattress, more than what rolling it does :)

Hey Will, if you roll the mattress up to deflate it then put the cap on then unroll it will likely be flat enough to close. Worth a try 🤞

It’s actually a black widow rack that I cut down flat. Good unit! Not sure if you can still buy them
