For your library you could do all four book shelf.. Two on one side and two on the other wall. Leave a space in the corner and put a comfy chair and or beanbag in the corner to have a reading space!
“I’ll just turn this way” hahahah sooooo relatable. Love your videos Bailey! I am a first year teacher and am about to set up my classroom! Ahh! So exciting!
YES!!! So excited to watch!!!! I get in my classroom July 25th and have training all next week. I could’ve gone in, but can’t because of floors being cleaned. I found your first year videos and they’ve been SO helpful! This is my first year; 5th grade! ❤️
I love these, I watched the setup last year and it was so fun to go through the adventures with you! I waited for the last day of setup so tonight I’m gonna be binge watching them. :)
I’m teaching for the first time this year… I’m teaching 3 year olds at my church, and even though I’m only teaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays (aiding the other days), I’m excited but nervous. I’ve been working at my church/preschool for 7 years-all through college-but it’s still nerve wracking
I think with the bookshelves if you wanted to pull them out, you could put a fake tree or tall plant or maybe even just have a plant stand with a lamp or something on it in that random space behind them
Some suggestions: bookcases for library straight across the white wall, or if you leave the bookcases in an L shape, you could put a tall lamp in that odd space, just to make the library cozy, instead of word wall a sound wall(board). 🤔 can't wait to see what u do.
While you were talking about your word wall and having the students be a part of that, here were my thoughts: what if students had the word and had to do something with the word to help others remember it? So they could make a visual within the word or a picture next to it to remind them the meaning without explicitly writing the definition! I love the idea of doing it by book for the words to have context!
I’ve been waiting for your classroom set up video! I’m so excited. I think you’re my top teacher content creator! Your vlogs are just relatable and easy going
I love ur aesthetic my dream is to be a teacher when I’m older and I want to be just like u ur energy is amazing and ur classroom is amazing and ur aesthetic is amazing hope ur year goes amazingly 🥰
Yay for classroom set up! Does your teacher desk have to be in the front or back? I would focus on getting everything set up to how and where you will be teaching. The rest will come and will be placed around your learning focus. 😉
I have a suggestion for your paper storage. Instead of putting Astrobright and other paper on shelf space, put it organized by color in the filing cabinet. Use hanging dividers to separate each color. Each drawer can be used for either different types of paper or for other storage. That would clear your cabinets and still have it accessible. You might email the principal about your kidney table and inform her/him you have your own desk. Some other teacher might need a desk. :-)
@@jennyaustin5927 Very smart idea. I saw it on another teachers' video and really liked that idea for those who don't use a filing cabinet for files. Have a great school year!
How soon do you have to go back for PD? I’m anxious to get back in my room to set up, but I don’t want to be the only person that eager before school starts! Lol!
I adore your videos as a new-ish young teacher myself, especially set ups!!! But PLZ girl you do not need to add background music through all the clips of you talking, personally it’s so much harder to focus on what you’re saying! 😅 and I’m sure it’d be less time consuming for you if you skip that step! Can’t wait to see your finished room!! 💕
I teach in the Netherlands and have some questions for you (or anyone who can explain...). *do you have to buy al of your classroom stuff yourself? Like cabinets, decoration etcetera...I remember seeing someone bringing a laminate thing (don't know the name), a printer, teacher chair. *Why don't you teach maths? Thanks so much for answers.
Teachers are provided the basics in their classrooms, but the trend with a lot of teachers in the United States is to make their rooms look more homey, so they buy different chairs, tables, lamps, plants, shelves, etc. They also buy personal printers, Cricut machines, and laminators for their own use at home and school for convenience. She said she wasn't teaching math this year, which means her grade level must be departmentalized, so she will be teaching reading/language arts I guess, and one of the other 3rd grade teachers will be teaching math. Then all the 3rd grade students at that school will have more than one teacher, so they'll change classes for each subject.
So excited for your videos!! What curriculum does your school use? Asking for the word wall idea. We use Into Reading and wondering if I could incorporate that somehow...🤔
I’m going back to college again I’m so excited and I’m learning how to drive get my dream car go back to college get my teaching degree and education I’m teaching English and I’m really excited I’m decorating my classroom pink and purple I’m not changing my classroom 😄
I’m not excited for classroom setup this year :/ i’m a 6th year reading specialist and I’m probably going to be in the hallway unfortunately :( I heard they were giving my tiny room the size of a closet to the gym teachers to store stuff so that puts me and all my things in the hall. Kids steal at my school so much so that I caught a student IN MY PURSE STEALING last year and the student attacked me when I tried to get my freaking wallet back so being in the hall is giving me severe anxiety:/
My classroom last year was similar! Open concept classrooms use to be really popular (at least where I teach in Canada) so a lot of classrooms now just have partial walls! I wonder if it's the same there!
@@halsievlogs The only classroom I’ve ever had that was “open” was my P.E. Class and even that was sectioned off by a floor to ceiling foldable wall. I’m just curious as to how third graders can focus when they can hear the class next door. I personally don’t think I would have been able to lol. I would’ve been looking over there at every chance. 😂
The kids switch to a different teacher halfway through the day so I teach them reading and social studies and then they switch teachers for math and science!
I get in my room Monday. I am currently trying to bribe my 19 year old to help me. I mean I have cooked for him for how many years. He has a supper hard math class he is taking from Purdue and keeps saying he has to much to do..

I put removable wallpaper over a wall color I hated in my classroom... just a suggestion

I have been waiting for classroom setup for so long
Hey Bailey I have been watching your classroom setups from years past and I and so glad that I can see this one this year!

You could put the math products in aesthetic colored bins on top in the cabinets so it’s out of the way but not cluttered
I think with the bookshelves if you wanted to pull them out, you could put a fake tree or tall plant or maybe even just have a plant stand with a lamp or something on it in that random space behind them
I love your decor the colors and the plants! So cute
Your vlogs make me want to speed up time til I am teaching next year, too. So motivating. Excited to see more.

Yes, I agree with the bookcases. Two on each wall. Lamp in the corner.😉
Classroom vibes I can’t wait
I graduate in a year for elementary Ed and you make me so excited and inspired for my own classroom!
For your rainbow photo boxes you can make them reading toolboxes with magnify glasses, highlighters, line readers, etc to make reading fun

When I saw that pile of stuff on the floor …. I wanted to cry for you 😭😭
Good morning Bailey happy Saturday morning and I loved your channel and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
You could put a tall plant in the corner that the bookshelves create.

I love your videos I have a classroom for when I babysit at my house. This year I’m going for the farmhouse theme!
Put a lamp behind the shelf that way you can pull it out and have something g filling that empty space

I would pull the bookshelf forward and have the empty corner and put a floor lamp
you made so much progress in a couple days!
YAYYY!!! Classroom set up is back!!!!!!
Also does your classroom have a door? Just wondering. LYSM!
In the gap by the library, you could put a lamp back there!

You should cover the entire wall in better than paper! :)
You can put a lamp in the corner between those bookshelves.
