The wood slice cushions would be super cute with the reading tent. Love your farmers market. I do empathize with the open pod concept, been there done that and I teach high school. You can imagine how distracted teenagers get. Hope you have a great school year
@@meganmyers7586 I taught 4th grade last year. I’m teaching 5th grade this year, which was the grade I originally wanted 🥰 Also, fellow Texan here! Lol. I’ve heard of open concept classrooms & that gives me the ick. Is it dreadful? & thank you! I’m going to be able to paint my room, so I decided on an accent wall. Hope I’m not overloading myself, lol.
Love your math kits! I’m going to make those up for my kids this year in the cases. I have been using ziploc bags… I would love to see how you do centers
Hey girl! I’m a 3rd year teacher I’m TX too!! 😊It will be my first year in Kinder!! I haven’t had a chance to get in my room yet but I’m planning to record my process also!

I’m loving your videos. I’m not a teacher, but I enjoy them just the same. Do you mind saying what those high waisted workout shorts you were wearing in the beginning were? I need them! 🥰
Thank you so much! The shorts are my FAV! They are from Venture19, but if you do not see them on the website you can dm @venture19fbg on instagram and if they have your size they will ship them to you! You can mention my name for a discount as well! :) venture-19.com/
I’ve seen a few open concept classrooms with no doors in a few videos, can I ask what’s the reasoning/benefits of it? I couldn’t imagine the amount of distractions for not only the kids but teachers as well. Just curious.
I honestly don't know the real reason either lol. I think back in the day, it was a popular concept for early childhood/day care classrooms. It is very distracting for them but we have our own hallway so that helps!
It was a trend decades ago with the idea that a student could go where they needed and have more of a free-flow school set up, but in reality it is not great!!
My son was in one of these open concepts group teaching thing years ago in Fairfax County. It was horrible for him. He had attention issues, and this was the worst possible situation for him - so many distractions! When I objected to him being put in that class, I was dismissed! It was two grades put together, and I think there were two or three teachers, taking on different subjects. At the first parent/teacher meeting in November, the teacher I met with says that she didn’t have him for math, but let’s check what the math teacher left for him. Oh, guess what, she did have him! I lost all faith in that system at that moment!
Love your videos! I’m currently a Junior in college majoring in Elementary Education. Do you have any tips on how to save for my future classroom or how you went about buying essentials for your classroom during your first year? Thank you!!
Aw thank you so much! I would say just set aside any amount starting now ($10 a month if possible) that way when you graduate you'll have a nice amount to spend on your classroom! But also, start buying books now! I started my sophomore year of college and went to thrift stores/garage sales and found so many books for cheap that were on my classroom wishlist! Facebook marketplace is also a good place to search for items too :) hope that helps!!
I do! I keep a table basket and they put their folders, and pencils in them! But everything else stays in their supply buckets just to help keep the tables clear
July twelth??? You’re a teacher ? TwelFth. There is an F. It is not silent. Twelfth. Not twelth. 🙄. The classroom looks like a middle school classroom- where are all the fun, bright colors for kindergarteners???

Hold up, no doors for ANY classrooms!? Is that safe!? 😭
We have locked hallways, but yeah it is not the safest in today's world. They are working on building them. :)

Regarding the open concept classrooms... how can that be considered safe in today's world? How could you lock down in the event it was needed?

Where did you get the number paths?
As a parent, it would concern me highly that there are no doors in those classrooms since we live in an era of horrible school shootings.
I read the comments, nd found out that there on it! They are going zu build them. :)
They got locked hall ways but yeah I agree they’re adding doors tho-
