I think it's more that Delta doesn't a care, when she makes her discovery, she knows he's just playing and is really happy to see him again. Delta is Shadow's dog.
Delta only cares about Cid's strength. It's his strength that she respects and admires, since her clans policy is "might makes right" essentially (only the strong survive and deserve respect). Because of that, Delta doesn't care about his personality or other extraneous aspects of him outside of his strength. The other girls see Cid for his other aspects, which require him to keep up a persona around them and maintain his image as Shadow. As a result of these circumstances, Delta is the only one he can be himself around, with no persona needed.
I think Nux partly misunderstands. The reason Cid wants to take down Mitsugoshi isn't because it is cool but because he wants to be rich and he thinks that Mitsugoshi has stolen his ideas to get super rich so he is jealous of their success, not realizing that all their money actually belongs to him.

I think you've been so sucked in to Cid's own delusions of badassery that you're forgetting something very important about his character: when it comes to relationships with people, Cid is an idiot. You keep mentioning about how *he* controls the market through Mitsugoshi - and in a sense he does, as he could order Gamma to give him any amount of the profits, or to take the corporation in any direction, and she would do so happily and without question. But importantly, Cid *doesn't realize* that. He sees Gamma and the other Shadows enriching themselves with knowledge that he gave them not as friends, allies, or extensions of his will, but as competition stealing his birthright as an isekai protagonist
That's not why Cid doesn't take the money. Cid knows that he could take the corporation. But his principles behind Shadow won't let him. He can't accept money or help from anyone, even Shadow Garden. He can only benefit from something he created. He refuses to take what someone else built. Even though he knows he could, he refuses to do so to maintain the image of Shadow.

I recommend checking out the manga. In terms of this arc alone at least, I prefer how the manga handled it. They're surprisingly different despite coming from the same source.
One of my favorite parts of the show is that the plot is constantly bending over for Cid, like the Cult of Diabolos and Rescuing his sister from some labyrinth.
I love how Nux doesn't get that Cid is after Mitsugoshi's money as much as the cool-ness. After all, "he will reclaim what is his" ;) As far as he thinks, all of that money isn't his; that's why he kept stealing coins from Mitsugoshi back in season 1. And after only getting a little bit of cash from the Lawless City, this is his chance to get enough money "to be set for life".
and yet, as we see later on, the money he "stole" from them was located and reclaimed by the girls. mitsugoshi weathered the economic collapse, the market was reset to an even playing field, and cid hilariously paid for his "mistakes".

exactly. it takes a lot to set up such a storyline without it being boring. its important for the real world, but such a boring concept for fiction. it takes great writing skills to make it appealing. it helps that we care about what happens to Cid's girls and there is the fact that they could be done in by a merchant alliance rising up against them. where once they monopolized the economy, now they had fallen into a situation where they could collapse at any time. plus, another thing that made it interesting is how Shadow would serve as both hero and villain of the arc, pushing the economic collapse forward and ultimately saving his company from collapse while simultaneously humbling them about the reality of the economic market: no company is ever too big to fail.

Am I the only one who thinks Delta's English voice is a little off? The Japanese voice sounds perfect for her character. The English voice actor sounds like someone with an unfitting voice doing an impression of Delta to me.
When she is all murderous the ENG dub isn't bad but the scenes with Delta portrayed as that cute, energetic puppy is definitely awful. It definitely pales in comparison to the JP dub. That said, I think it would be pretty damn difficult to find an ENG VA to play Delta close to how the JP VA did it so they probably just went with getting a VA that can at least portray one side of her decently.
