1 ips officer frm Andhra Pradesh married a fellow girl in aryasamaj while he was preparing for it and they both started living together in a room. she got a railway job n helping him in upsc preparation fr 2 yrs after clearing the exam he packed his lauggage n left to d home by saying I'll come n talk to the parents ... but he fixed the marriage with another upper class girl and took dowry 3 crore and 5 acres of land Wife went to police but they refused to do justice... her husband warned her n her family, I have support frm entire police department so don't make issues It was big news fr few days later everyone said Aryasamaj mrg is not valid..he kicked her out of his life , who supported him in hard time

Proud to be from Uttarakhand, I cant say about some cities in Uttarakhand but, In hilly areas there almost no dowry asking, whether rich or poor , parents from bride side can give furniture as per their chice if they want, 20+ yrs, still seen no one to demand for dowry neither asked, but In Haryana ,RJ & Bihar, and rich class, Dowey is so high
These days marriages are become so scary..I can relate to most of the points from video..I'm in a govt job under the Rajasthan Govt..my parents are also searching groom for me but the mindset of people are so shoking specially If I talk about our Marwari community where people still want the homely girl..if educated then also good..but they are not favour in the job things.People asked my parents if I can leave my job or if I want to work I can join their family business.I belong to a middle class family not only this job is my dream come true but also it was essential for me. Talking about the criteria it's actually a problem..We are searching a groom within the Rajasthan due to my job..also from the same cast..so it's become so challenging..my only wish is to be working..I really don't mind if the guy is unemployed or less educated all I want with whom I can live my life peacefully but seriously I think this is too much that I ask..my friends who are CA's and got married they are also facing issues.. the double responsibilities..TBH that's why be it a girl or boy we are really not interested to get marry..sabko ek hi life mili hai or usme bhi bas dusro ki sunte raho or apne Mann ko marte raho aise kyon or kab tak..?
It's very common in this country to look for a bride or groom within the same caste or community...but if you can convince your parents to look for someone from other states whether eastern or north eastern states not giving too much importance to their caste .. there's a possibility that you might find someone much better..

my friend's sister got married recently, they are quite rich as a family also the girl earns well too, but his sister insisted on giving dowry just for her own Pride, so the reality is rich girl families are more willing to give dowry even if the boy families say no. They think it is a matter of Pride to give a lot of money with their daughter. So the reality is quite different

My father himself gave dowry of 20 lakh in my sister's wedding. I begged him to marry my sister to someone who's status is similar to us. But he paid no attention to my advice, he thinks it is important to show off in the society. Sick mentality and ego. Now's we are in debt of 5 lakh.
Yeah and in India families , they will put this debt usually on their son & he will start paying the debt and will end up making his life a torcher for him 😢 while his sister lives a great life, she won't even take care of their parents! Poor sons..

New UCC should cover dowry, marriage expenses..not just on marriage day, should cover all days on which grooms family with more than 10 guests..100 days before marriage and 100 days after marriage. Limit on gold and jewels given on mkt value basis as this will also reduce our import of gold.

I am not supporter of dowry , but if taking dowry from girl is wrong then keeping unrealistic expectations from boys is also equally wrong. Unrealistic expectations like a boy should have higher package,house,large farms,cars,rich boy with no parents,etc and never ending list. I request you sir to please show other side as well.
Everyone is right 😅. No one can change this system This is nothing worse is some states panchayat or villagers conduct varginity test for women. Marriage has become a problem nowadays for men also because the Judiciary favours women.

To stop dowry system we need to work on divorcé alimony as well….bcoz may be a well earning person refuse for dowry, but no family of girl side will refuse for alimony if possible….. secondly we can work on education of next generation and making their behaviour more toward self dependency than to just building and collecting more assets
The most fundamental thing to be done is to define what dowry is?? We might be giving it "to our daughters" as a gift but might not be realising it. Its of utmost importance therefore about what is dowry and its components??

Dowry can't uniformly situated to a particular class. As its prevalent in among all the classes, castes and communities. We say it's curse and it should be stopped immediately. just look deeper into it, it's a kind of continuous process...take any example of family...like if u gave for your sister, you will definitely grab the amount from the next one. Same in cases of boys, if u took in your time, you will obviously give at the time of your sister's wedding, as the society won't accept a 'dowry-free wedding',

Firstly, sthri dhan should be registered along with marriage certificate, with signatures of both parties officially. If at the time of talks, boys side ask for some amount of money, and if girls side is ok to give, then I think, there is no problem in that. Because, if girls parents can not give that amount, then can look for some other boy with in their budget. I think, we should not call such scenario as dowry or social evil etc. But after the marriage, if boys side start harassing girl to bring in more money from parents, that is evil and should be punishable.

Yepp, Acc to NFHS data 2022 There are 1020 girls for every 1000 men.. But many people feel that it's incorrect cz in 2011 census it was 952:1000 and then in 12 years how can it change so drastically 😐 So we have to wait, till the next census for the correct data

I'm from Nandigram, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal.there is not being system of dowry and I'm very happy. But being a boy i strongly against on dowry . My opinion that having compulsion of dowry in society India still developing instead of devloped country.

less number of successful men and more no of women wanting to marry them simple case of supply and demand , women choose the best option for them in terms of financial security same goes for men the more a women offers in financial gain more likely she will get a lifetime of luxury , note -this argument does not justifies dowry , this is simple case of both parties choosing the best for themself's

Firstly, sthri dhan should be registered along with marriage certificate, with signatures of both parties officially. If at the time of talks, boys side ask for some amount of money, and if girls side is ok to give, then I think, there is no problem in that. Because, if girls parents can not give that amount, then can look for some other boy with in their budget. I think, we should not call such scenario as dowry or social evil etc. But after the marriage, if boys side start harassing girl to bring in more money from parents, that is evil and should be punishable.

In US before marriage both declare their savings, in case if separation on date of separation it is again taken.Any gain( current minus closing bal at time of mariage) in both accounts may be debt or income.Shared equally between two. Inheritence rights ends for inherited value.If inherited property from groom side is sold let s say x, already spent y, then (x-y)/2 is the alimony to be paid by other half during separation. Any kids, based on current type of school..and income group,half the price for remaining education should be paid by other half who does not take care of kids.
Marriage is a legal agreement, commitment anything entered during couples are together are bound by two equally.
If husband meets accident and one leg is lost during couple are together.Because of that for remaining expected life span he will undergo extra expenses, that also should be shared equally by two..since he lost his legs when they were together!!
Make it mandatory during marriage certificate registration declaration of assets and liabilities closing balance, jewels they bring in as gift at time of marriage.Dowry paid..even though illegal as gift to groom, amount spent on marriage by bride family can be a part of this statement.
