those strides... (chef's kiss) that's a horse that was enjoying itself. You can see the excited hop of the hind end after every jump and the easy, smooth relaxation of every movement. No frustration, exhaustion, or contempt. Just smooth riding.
I noticed when he was checking him it didn't bother the horse either. Most of the time, when they check them, they throw their heads or gag their mouth open, this horse was in tune with the rider beautifully.

wow that horse has an amazing rhythm and striding!i love the way it’s legs move all in the same direction instead of a really wild gallop/ hand gallop! Kudos to the rider as well, he really worked with the horse. love it!! ❤
Those were some very tight turns, and a couple of "shortcuts" at an angle over the jumps - clearly a very solid team, communicating and trusting each other all the way.
I'm going back almost 60 years. This was my favorite event. My instructor showed my horse on the professional level and I the local level as I was a kid. Sam was a brilliant horse. He was so natural, intuitive and enthusiastic. All I really had to do was hold on and look good. He did the rest.
What an amazing horse, ride, partnership and round! You could see the competitors face full of jealousy as he realized his position fell apart and the round progressed. Fantastic all around!
This is the 1st time I've seen someone who could perform a jump-off equal to that of Alan Smith (aka "The Speed King"). Performing at high level in the 70's and 80's, Alan would thrill and amaze audiences by riding at a breath-taking pace to high verticals and wide oxers. His speed compared to the competition was quite impressive.
It's looks like the rider is just there for a bit of guidance. That horse wanted to jump, he wanted to win!! No pressure just pure joy and willingness to perform it's absolute best!!
We see some large Grand Prix horses. The assumption being "bigger is better", that the big horses can jump higher. This horse ❤ proves that it's not about height but about heart! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Rider throws his/her heart over the jump and their horse flies over after it. Synergy!❤❤
Bro that was so good!! Also can we take a second to appreciate the fact that the left hair where the spurs were hitting the horse. It shows that they really do care about it’s well being.

Hi
I noticed when he was checking him it didn't bother the horse either. Most of the time, when they check them, they throw their heads or gag their mouth open, this horse was in tune with the rider beautifully.
Omg but that was so clean-
❤❤❤
@Melly_Eventing_official Hiiii!!!!
Merveilleux beautiful voilà un homme qui connait et respecte le cheval, quel beauté ce couple, tout en beauté tout en douceur ❤❤😊😊
Wanna know what PERFECT striding looks like? Well, folks....
It’s deffo not my striding..😭😂
@@melshorselife.snlebe lol me neither 😂 the only strides I can see are for grids
real
I only can have semi good strides when I’m told how many strides 😭
@@addie.and.clover fr! Ponies are the worst for striding too lol
The horse when doing the flying changes be like: WELLLL I FEEL GOOD TODAYYY 🚀
Yes!!!
That horse was having fun!Everything is way better when you’re having fun!❤
That was so clean. And he was hardly on the horses mouth too. Only when he needed to adjust the striding. It’s great.
It really stood out to me how much he got the horse to jump underneath him in the canter. It's crucial when jumping this height
Two wonderful athletes complimenting each other!
I don’t think non-equestrians understand how satisfying that is to equestrians especially jumpers.
That round was CLEAN 😮💨
Was it clean as i seen spurs etc.

wow that horse has an amazing rhythm and striding!i love the way it’s legs move all in the same direction instead of a really wild gallop/ hand gallop! Kudos to the rider as well, he really worked with the horse. love it!! ❤
Gorgeous teamwork between horse and rider. Looked light and effortless.
Those were some very tight turns, and a couple of "shortcuts" at an angle over the jumps - clearly a very solid team, communicating and trusting each other all the way.
That was - beautiful and he hardly pulled the reins except for turning or adjusting lines. 👏🏼
Every distance NAILED. Big flying changes, happy ears, knees to the sky and gentle mount... Beautiful. 🖤
That horse’s stride is absolutely stunning🤩
Ikr
I'm shocked, that stride, the legs moving that way is FLAWLESS
What a beautiful rider! The horse is wonderful!! He rides so light and I love horse's long strides and athleticism. ❤❤❤
Wow! Magnificent horse, fantastic jockey, and superb round.
We say rider not jockey ☺️
That's not a jockey...
@@Bridgette_equestrian Haha! Lighten up, Bridgette. In Ireland we sometimes call a rider a jockey. It's not only for race horses.
@@laser170323 we do? I always saw rider for this in my opinion ☺️
Damn, they are literally flying 😍😍
Yes!!!
That was insane!!! Speed & turns were just so slick!!! & The lead changes too
