To me the horse looks pretty tired... Struggling more and more with each fence... I hope they're both ok though especially after rolling over on one of the poles... 😢
agree, I don't know the horse on any other performance. However, he didn't seem to be having his best day at work. seemed a bit off through the whole course, could be a rider issue.
You guys know nothing about horses probably. Like if the horse doesn’t want to do the activity it will show signs of it and if the rider is nice then it will know straight away not to push them
The problem was that she did not approach the jump correctly and the horse started jumping from a further distance that needed. The solution would have been to make sure the horse made a small stride before jumping.
Yes! The horse's head kept dipping down when landing. I expected a tumble at every jump. Horse and rider did not seem in sync at all. Definitely not the grasses fault. 100% the rider.
I hate how she didnt stop earlier. The horse was clearly uncomfortable and she just immediately put the bridle back on when the horse nearly broke its neck
It always gets me how the riders will struggle to handle the horses when they are on the ground, but the minute the grooms show up, the horses will calm down. Makes me wonder what kind of bond do the riders have with the horses.
They usually don't have any bond... Especially Olympic horses, where in showjumping, they compete after meeting the horse like a day or so prior. It's terrible, the riders should have their own horses. The grooms are probably the only ones the horses recognise as good people.
@@horse_addictforlife_ECuestrianJust to clarify …. That is pentathlon, not the official showjumping of the Olympics, and that is NOT regulated by the FEI, which is why the scandalous treatment of a horse happened last time. And after Paris this year, the riding portion will be replaced by cycling. In showjumping at the Olympics, everything is regulated by the FEI, and riders who go are HIGHLY trained riders who own their own steeds. I’m a nationally published equine photographer and equine welfare advocate, and I have seen a lot, including refusing service to abusers, and I must say that while abuse is rampant, reforms need to be done to the sport as well. The problem with a lot of elite showjumpers is they are merely a vehicle for ego, overworked, not given time off … and tired out. This horse in the video is clearly showing body language signifying he is in pain and tired. On the positive side, I’ve also seen showjumpers who are treated very well by their owners, given chiro and massage, fed organic feed, given two days on and two days off of jumping. And seriously, nobody jumps beyond 3 feet fences at an ethical barn. Also, many breeds of horses are bred to work and love to do so as long as they are treated ethically, get bored and destructive if they don’t have a job. In fact, many breeds of horses are in danger of going extinct since there is no more work for them; some examples include the Shire, American Cream Draft, Timor Pony, Hackney Horse, Suffolk Punch, and Cleveland Bay. In a nutshell, there are good and bad in the sport. Many elite riders DO need to spend more time mucking out stalls, bonding with the horses, learning to read their body language and knowing what the horses’ needs are. And then truly a bond can form. As to pentathlon, I was scandalized to watch videos of how people in Tokyo and previous Olympics were riding: Poor seat, constantly falling off the horses, horses crashing through fences. This would NEVER happen in an accredited horse show and you would NOT be allowed to jump before you can canter securely under the tutelage of an experienced trainer. I found out that the pentathlon athletes BARELY have riding training (they often only go once a month for riding lessons, for example), and they should NOT be jumping with the terrible riding skills they have … or being put on high end show horses that are too advanced for their skill level. I have been taking riding lessons for six months, and honestly, I can ride better than any of those people. I am glad that what happened at the pentathlon last Olympics exposed the abuse and terrible riding standards that horse welfare advocates like myself have been noticing and calling out for a long time, and I am so glad that cycling is taking the place of showjumping for this situation … because it jeopardizes actual Olympic showjumpers, who OWN their own horse, train for years, fly them there. As I say as an equine welfare advocate, don’t ban the horse shows … ban the crazies. Hope you enjoyed a little insight! :)
The rider is just showing zero horse sense on the ground, just continuously fucking with his head to try and cram the bridle back on him while there's still reins flopping in his eyes and he's clearly backing away asking for space. The poor horse😢
This is why I ride western and don’t force my horse to do stuff when its tired I feel like some English riders abuse there horses so do western I don’t but I feel like jumping can be abuse sometimes
Guys it might be “sweet” but if you saw the way she was holding the rains so tight the horse was trying to get away because it hurt 😞 look at the video the horse is trying to run away from her
That was way to much for a horse have to jump !!
@@Bebeandbanjo thanks for that great information!!
@@Bebeandbanjo ??
@@Bebeandbanjo ok I just learned something!! lol
Are they both ok?
This poor horse looked petrified the whole time. I would feel awful if this happens to an animal when I was on it. It wasn’t her fault but this sport is cruel because clearly they don’t want to do this.
Part where the horse fell if you want: 1:22
My anxiety watching this video:📈📈📈📈📈📈
its disgusting how far and high they make horses jump, this could of ended with a dead horse in this instance
I dont wanna be that person but they, flipped, rolled and got up in the same time in the first fall!
Name music?
The way it fell on its face it very nasty
Guys dw the horse is okay he went back up and started running to her son/daughter
Dont worry guys i watched the video and the girl and horse are perfectly fine no injuries the horse got up straight away.
It survived
Good luck❤
Pov: you’re Swedish 🇸🇪
Did the horse survive??
I am soo glad the hours is okay
1:25 those who want to see just the fall here u go!
Die können überhaupt nicht mit den Pferden umgehen. Die Pferde tun mir so leid,müssen über so hohe Hindernise springen. Das ist in meinen Augen Tierquälerei.😢
Everyone don't worry they both were ok and got right back on their feet
I legit only jump mine over 90cm fences up to 1m no higher
1:42 was I the only one to notice the hat rolling ??
lol
They were doing so good! I hope they're okay. I wonder what caused this tho, did she go on 2point too early?
it was just a simple mistake they misjudged the jumped causing the horse to knock the pole and just lost footing on the landing. luckily both horse in rider had no injuries
OK so the horse got backed up I just watched the video but it’s the horse did not get up and they assume that he broke his leg and they would have to put him down. That’s why he put the sad music in front of it.
Does anyone know if this horse is OK?
Abolish show jumping. It is cruel and only for the glory of the rider
poor thing... that was definetly a broken front leg
As a horse owner I can tell you that this horse is okay; he/she is not limping in any way, so there's no danger of a broken leg. It could easily have happened, but thank God it was nothing like that. I've seen horses with broken legs before and it's horrible to see. But I'm glad this guy was okay! 😊 I'm sure a vet checked up on him/her too, just to make sure.
Three fences in a roll is one to many the horse or rider didn’t see the 3 rd fence.
Did the horse die? Because in the vid the horse got up
The horse is ok
❤
Horse is alive !
Don’t worry the horse was oki at the end just a high jump 😢 I don’t think they should have those..
poor thing!! omg
