The fact that he was so careful not to say that his parents didn’t like her because she was black but instead it was because she was a foreigner shows how much he really loves his wife.
Most of the time it is because the person is a foreigner, but the way he explained it is perfect....Asian is first choice, white is second choice but still not preferred, then sadly those of color (Middle Easterners, Indians, ect..). Color usually has nothing to do with it....most Asian parents want to see their child marry only into their ethnic background.
@@becky_1919 koreans are not exactly tops on anyone's list. The men are not attractive nor are most the women
@@becky_1919 yes . True
The answer may be because it is not white or black, but foreigners.
Even when my parents got married, even though they were Korean, my grandmother was very opposed to it because it was a time when political regional sentiment was too severe.
I think many parents in Asia or Korea want their children to live as normal as others.
It isnt so much as a black person, it's that everything was different about her
@@TheNingda aka her being black…😐
Everything from how he planned out their phone conversations to crying at the airport to practising the wedding song after work - his efforts are impressive! His genuine respect, appreciation, and love for his wife is so touching. Dianna is a catch for sure, but good men like him are hard to find. I'm so happy for their happiness.

What a beautiful love story. We will all die, and we will all turn to DUST, white, black, yellow, brown, and we all have the same number of bones and the same colour of blood. But it is nice that in the end, LOVE and acceptance win.❤Kyungho is the hero in this story, because he fought for this LOVE.
You forgot to put GOD-JESUS into it!!! The body turns into dust, The Real You (your soul) goes to either Heaven with God or HELL with Satan [depending on WHOM (JESUS) you obeyed or whom (Satan) you obeyed].
I wish that those who are having the racist syndrome can get this into their heads.
Really? Go to check France. With blacks, they are excluding the white. They are nice to you, because they want to conquer your country!
And I really love Korean men, too bad
@@bettyscookpot6912they’re the same like every men out there. Wake up from your fantasy, reality is different.
Very brave. Interracial marriages are not a walk in the park. Kudos to you both.
Especially for Asians and Africans.

@@badhabit714 She is from America.
Tell me about it it's a hell but I will win the fight
Even different culture marriages are hard enough. We shared the same race but culture were different like in my country we don't do small talking, no shoes indoors, food is different from british food my ex spouse had gotten use to, my language was too hard to learn, history, everything was hard work and at the end became too much. My mother-in-law also didn't like me, I think that was one of the biggest issues.
How did I miss this? Dianne was so vulnerable and nice in describing her experience. She gave her inlaws so much grace eventhough you can tell she is still hurt and affected from the rejection. I can tell they love each ofher, but maybe counseling would help Dianne through the hurt and help build her confidemxe back up?
She always seems to have low self esteem. She mumbles and always looks like she doesn’t have any confidence. I can tell his family still doesn’t like her. And he STILL has yet to say he is attracted to her.
She is soooooo brave! It takes guts to go through this. I am so happy that he loves for her for who she is. I wish them the best.
Both are brave.
Yes I would have ran away
Wow this man is pure gold! Singing to his wife in front of everyone, how brave! And knowing some people didn't like her. That is A REAL MAN!
I hope they last. I saw other Korean and black couples break up within 5 years. Most don't make it very long. Even lack and white. It's very rare for them to last.
I hope they last they are cute.
Better five years if joy than a same race marriage where you get disrespected and abused.
Chinese men and Korean men in movies are the best. I don't know what they do in real life.
@Marilyn yoh I would love to see them work too!! But I will have correct you on Certain points that you brought up that are not true... I live in Charleston West Virginia, I have a huge family & friends that lives all over The United States that are in relationships of different race, that last a whole lot longer then 5 years. My sister Married a white man and they were married for 19 yrs. Infidelity on his part is the reason why they're not together, they had 2 handsome boys together. his 2nd marriage is to a black female too... We have more in our family that are Asian, white & Latino. I have a lot of friends who are of mixed race too! So my point is to you it does not matter about your race. to say that they're only married for 5 years or less. you're completely wrong! SMH 🙄 There's people who marry within their race, and they still get divorce in 5 or less years. Educate yourself before you speak!! 💯 Have a bless day. 😊
Bless them, you can see they love each other, let no man come between them. Amen.
@@marilynyoh7951when the wife is black, interracial couples tend to last longer
@@marilynyoh7951 A movie is just a movie, it's dumb for people to watch it and think all the people in that country are like that. I also agree, it's better to marry your own race to avoid the struggles but if two people love each other unconditionally then it will work whatever the race/ethnicity. I think that because they didn't fetishise each other and they feel in love by chance is why it worked. They weren't specifically seeking out someone from a certain country or race and then get disapointed when the reality is different to their ideals.
Wow I’m so touched by your husband’s description of when he saw you in your wedding dress.
There is no stopping real love, and they taught the parents more about real love too.God bless this beautiful family.
Okay Dianna-you are too cute with your natural hair out. I was smiling the whole story. Sooo pretty.

I think she soften after she meet her grandchildren , but this is not excuse of course to mistreat someone just cuz you dont like them
@@sakurakou2009 Exactly! Watching this as I black woman, I am offended.
@@SS-km4pp to be honest no one forced her to endure the disrespect she choose to endure it , if this was me no matter how much like the guy , I will never endure this kind disrespect toward me , call me selfish but my pride is just so high to accept anything less then same respect I give you to be returned to me.
@@sakurakou2009 i wouldn't say mistreat but certainly must have been uncomfortable. They were probably more shocked, and unsure how to interact culturally ?
Honestly, I'm not even offended. Coming from a country that dealt with racial issues in the past (Apartheid) and then moved to UAE and dealt with far worse discrimination than in South Africa as a black African, I learned to accept the unacceptable and that if I allowed people's ignorance to get under my skin, I would lead a very unhappy life. We cannot change people's reactions but our own, we definitely can.
Unfortunately it's not nice to accept and realise that as a black person, you won't be received well because of a demon called racism and ignorance but, there's always a bright side to things, when they get to know you, they get shocked and feel bad for ever assuming the worst of you because of racial stereotypes.
imagine being looked down upon because you're black African compared to your white European counterpart, here things are on another level, however, some places are more welcoming of black Africans and African Americans (which are widely accepted here because they come from America) apart from that, life really just goes on, you find and meet people who resonate with you and so on. ☺️
shes sooo beautiful inside n out, i love how calm n kind she is, her husband lucked out
Heartfelt story! As a parent of adult children, I understand how Kyungho's parent may have had questions. Bonding takes time. Beautiful wedding ceremony. Many more blessings for your families in the future. Keep sharing your journey.

I can't get enough of this 'How we met' series. To me it is the most interesting videos in your vlog. I even got emotional at the end when Jun & Minji joined to wave bye bye to us what a beautiful story. The fact that you figured out that this series will be very interesting is a credit to you. its so cute he sang for her on their wedding day
By viewing your videos, I see that your husband's parents have fully embraced you and the children. It's good to focus on the current state of good relations with your husband's family as well as improving the relationship you and your children have with their American grandparents.
They do focus on it, but this needs to talked about! Regardless if u like it or not. God bless
This brought back tears. I have been watching since the wedding video and the feels are still the same - 감사합니다

Thank you guys, very touching and much love. The twins are so beautiful.
I just discovered you guys’ channel last night. What a beautiful love story. And he sang to you @ your wedding. How sweet. Your twins are the absolute cutest. I love their outfits, chopsticks, etc.
That was beautiful. It was interesting to see how you both had to stay strong because you were both committed to each other. I still how strong your love is in all your videos. Maybe one day I will also meet my Prince Charming.
What a love story,I wish ur beautiful family a life full of love and happiness
Dianna has such an elegant laugh. So Elegant. Kyungho and Dianna your love story is so beautiful
You guys just melt my heart. When I was just feeling pessimistic about true love, kyungho changed my mind when he talked about you seeing you in your white wedding gown. It is a little awkward meeting the family of a significant other when they have a different culture and or race even more so when you don’t share the language. However that is a hurdle one must take when you are in a committed relationship. I feel that people can sense a good person despite barriers and differences. You are blessed to be with the one you love. There’s no turning back and your in laws want the best for their son so they support him more now especially that there are grandchildren involved . You two are such nice people and your parents are as well from all the videos I’ve seen.
Dianna put up with a lot of bs from Kyungho then his family. Not sure what kept you motivated exactly but you won in the end. You are a strong woman with a big heart.
These videos from the past makes it even more awesome 😍
Really glad when you share your story with us Diana and Kyungho. You both worked together on this journey for the family you wanted to have together and I’m glad you share this with us because relationships are enjoy not always sweet but that bitter and hard parts build us to be stronger and you both grew closer through this experience.
Just saw this story for the first time and it brought tears to my eyes, especially when he was singing at the wedding. What a lovely couple. I've always hesitated at an interracial marriage, because of the problems I've seen them bring to some, but in this case with Diana and her husband, they persevered in spite of the parents' initial disapproval and I'm so glad it worked out for them. And they had a fantastic attendance at the wedding too!
I married within my nationality, but was still not “cultured “ enough for my in-laws (too modern and not schooled in the ways of my people, beyond just surface knowledge. Also had a different religion/denomination.
I admire your husband for his resilience. Mine buckled under the pressure and began to see me as the problem rather than close ranks like your husband did and protect us. That caused many problems and led to us splitting eventually, after 8 years of marriage. We knew each other more than 20 years before we married. My mom in law loved me but she died before our wedding took place.
So, these things happen everywhere, even though inter-race can of course be even more isolating.
Your in-laws came around eventually, mine didn’t.
I agree!
두분을보면서 우리아들도 국제결혼한다하면 기쁘게 축복해줄 마음이 생겼어요~
두분 축복합니다~ 눈물날정도로 감동적이에요~^^
Breaking cultural barriers for love! ❤️ How beautiful your husband was always beside you the whole time and explained why his parents were very hesitant in accepting you at the beginning.
I want ro like this a 100 times...especially when he started to sing off key but its like the best thing I've ever heard. You're just both so beautiful together.
In away it’s very sad but look where you guys are and it’s BEAUTIFUL may God keep blessing you and your w❤️
Yes....it is sad. Why can't people just marry who ever they want.
OMG, His song to you was EVERYTHING! Love.
You both had a Beautiful Wedding ❤️and you are a wonderful couple. Beautiful Blessing ✝️ Kids 🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing your story. It's a lot to be said when a man loves you and goes against tradition and family to stand by the woman he loves. I admire that. You are so blessed.
If it were me i could already have given up
I have very low esteem am trying very hard to stay positive but if i feel rejected i can't handle
What i would say is the girl was soo brave getting that far, that was alot of confidence and courage
Guy stay blessed 💞🙏🙏
While I understand why you stayed with Henry, personally the disrespect from the parents of ignoring me and not speaking while I'm in their house would have been the last day of the relationship for me. I personally couldn't do it and wouldn't even want to try to work through that. But I know everyone's boundaries are different.
And we can see that those negative barriers can be worked out. Love prevailed.
I feel the the same way. That just feels inhumane to me, to ignore a person your son introduced for the first time . His parents could have been gracious even if they didn't like her, its not like she can change her color or ethnicity. I wonder if they would ignore her if she was white
I’m so glad that love prevailed and now they are a beautiful family with two beautiful children and grandparents on both sides that loves them that is what love does.
Bless your heart Dianna you really loved him because I couldn’t do that….try to make people accept me.

I was so touched by his song to her….so very beautiful. I wish them a long and happy life together 💕💕💕💕
I can't stop smiling the whole video , what a beautiful couple and family , I am half light skinned African (Moroccan) half redhead European (Italian) and I live in Montreal Canada , my girlfriend is a black Indian , she's the love of my life , her parents don't want her to marry a foreigner and especially if he is light skinned like me "they think he won't love her or care about her if he hasn't the same skin colour as her ! / she should marry a black or brown guy only / light skinned people are bad and they will hurt her" I asked her the other day "what if a light skinned Indian wants to marry you ! Are they okay with him ?! she said , maybe they wouldn't accept him either" I was really shocked and confused !! Why ?!! But I guess this problem is a world wide thing , we need more education and acceptence
We really love each other , she's studying now in Canada and this year is her last and she will stay with me I want to live the rest of my life with her , she met my mixed parents and everything went well , we will go visit hers next year , I hope everything's going to be alright
God bless you and her
God bless you both, I hope her parents will see diversity of your own parents and understand that you don't have such toxic ideas.
Hugs and kisses from Morocco !🇲🇦

I love you Diana, you absolutely are a trailblazer, Korea is such a homogeneous culture and your love for your husband has helped you get over the hurdles of that cold society. Wish you the best, you are so beautiful inside and out!! I love Kimchi!!!
Both are brave
Dianna, you are a very courageous woman. You went multiple times after that first surprise visit to his family's home. You must have felt hurt and your pride injured. However, you went back again and again. I am so touched by your courage. This also helps me to understand the dynamic with your MIL. I can see that she is trying to build a relationship with you. I hope you will feel confident and practise your Korean without fear. You are a beautiful and strong woman. I see why Kyungho loves you, and couldn't go back to his old girlfriend. I wish you guys lots of love, good health, prosperity and happiness.
I just caught myself smiling and crying at the same time. It's so beautiful to see true 💕
I love both of your sense of humor. Diana you’re looking so good - keep up with the good work.
Beautiful couple 💑😍❤
Diana is a VERY loving patient woman. (I hope the husband REALLY understands and learns to stand up for her.) Almost to where I am concerned about her having any form of self-confidence or self-esteem. You don't have to be a doormat to make a loving wife and mother. Thats not part of the deal. The whole video he seems to be making excuses about his parents being quietly rude to her while she did nothing to warrant that. He keeps going "oh they were uncomfortable" "She a foreigner" I don't know how she found a way to make peace with that or tolerate it or even marry into it, but since she did, I really hope he learns to return the favor and stand up for her.
Beautiful family, love conquers all, so happy for you both you both have a strong bond and solid foundation.
HEnry singing to you Dianna, made me cry happy tears. your love story is so exceptional, beautiful.
I appreciate you both so much for sharing yourselves, your family, the love you have for each other & your perspective of your life story. 💕🤘
This episode was a tear jerker for me 😢 Touching and I love it
Aww Dianna I’m so sorry you had such an awkward first time encounter meeting your in laws. I hope there’s a generational change of acceptance and also understanding! It must have been incredibly nerve racking and awkward entering a house and everyone is pretending to be busy or unattentative. I think it’s also a must that we consider not just the in laws family’s views but also the newcomer to the family!! How hard is it to enter a room and you know everyone doesn’t like you/judging you by your race, language.. it’s a narrow minded approach and it needs to change.
Very beautiful relationship and story, yall were meant for each other and now with a beautiful blessed family. ❤️
I love the genuineness of your love. Your story was uncomfortable in the beginning and still has its moments but it has endured a lot. You guys were able to persevere through it all. I laughed when your husband was being silly and at the other laughable moments. I smiled hard to see how beautiful you were as a couple in the beginning of your story and how even beautiful your family is today. I mainly like that you both are real and not fake!! Dianna continue to rock that natural hair Lady. It looks so good on you!!!

Cherish each other and I am glad the family overcame the differences and instead took it as an opportunity to educate one another and accept the love. I agree you are both beautifully chubby - it comes with age and life after having kids. Time flies but make sure to make time for yourselves and nurture that love. You are both still so young 🥰
It's beautiful to see how persistent love can be. You have a beautiful relationship and a wonderful family. Thank you for sharing.
You both are truly meant for each other despite being born from different parts of the world. I love the way you tackle the daily struggles of life by being biracial married people with such calmness (though Dianna admitted having experienced so much anxiety but handled it very well)!
