Gin's death was one of the saddest moments in bleach I think, but it was really well done. He is easily one of the best characters in Bleach in my opinion. He was a interesting character for sure, but maybe he will be in the Hell arc in Hell. Also I wonder how powerful Rangiku would have been if she had never gotten the Soul King's Nail removed from her by Aizen. It probably weakened her alot.

I think it's a fascinating "What If?" scenario! Having whatever additional boost in power having the "King's Nail" gave her might have made a big difference in her life, and removing its theft from the story eliminates Gin's revenge motive so his life would have been significantly changed as well, and by extension Aizen's plans would have to adjust accordingly.

Gin and matsumoto's relationship is the ONLY thing that keeps bringing me back to Bleach.
This is because Gin should have succeeded. And I have proof!
    1) Gin pierces Aizens enhanced skin even though Aizen was strong enough to completely negate Soi fon's Shikai ability.
In the SS arc when ichigo fought Zaraki, there is a moment when ichigo fails to even cut zaraki with a clean shot. This is explained as saying: ichigos Sp was not strong enough or sharp enough to cut Zaraki's base defense.
The same thing happened again when Aizen stopped Ichigos Bankai with his finger. (We know ichigo was not under hypnosis, so this was pure Aizen).
So that means Gin was able to not only penetrate Aizens Sp defense, but he did it immediately and with only one strike. Also with his back to Aizen.
This is such a massive feat of power that no other character except Dangai Ichigo comes close to having.
    2) Aizen knew Gin was planning something and underestimated Gin.
This is a huge reason Aizen should have lost control of the H
Not only did Aizen miscalculate his closest ally, but he failed to see it coming which led to Aizen's biggest L ever in the series. (Dangai Ichigo was way stronger than Aizen, so it wasn't a surprise that he lost that fight).
    3) Gin wanted the H more than Aizen did.
To Aizen, the H was just a tool to help him defeat the soul king and become king, but it was not his end goal. For Gin, the H, WAS the goal. He wanted it to give it to Matsumoto and that is all he wanted. All of his strength and skill is credited to him trying to acquire the H. Therefore the H should have sensed this and his ability to defeat Aizen and it should have immediately began fusing with his body.
    4) H infused Aizen defeats most of the the Gotei captains easily, but he mostly uses his illusions, meaning his Strength is roughly base Aizen. However, once Aizen starts transforming, only extremely exceptional people are shown to be able to even damage him and Gin is in his base form.
The Gin that impaled Aizen is the same Gin that fought Ichigo in SS arc. He didn't discover a new ability or relieve new power ups. Meaning Gin was ALWAYS as strong as ENHANCED Aizen.
This is a massive feat of strength and for Gin.
    5) Gin beat Aizen before Ichigo did.
The only reason Aizen recovers is PLOT ARMOR, Aizen needed to be defeated by the stories MC therefore Gin was destined to lose due to his universal truth, that he is not the main character of bleach.
    6) Aizen does not have regeneration abilities until AFTER Gin turns him into a holy man (man with a hole).
Further proof that kubo had to invent a way for Aizen to survive this encounter.
That is 6 reasons and now to anyone who says
" Gin killing Aizen ends the story too early and Dangei Ichigo has nothing to do for the last battle."
    I say this:
Gin has defeated Aizen and retreats with the H. He is looking at it as he does and decides to give it to Matsumoto, however before he can Aizen dies and the H immediately starts embedding itself into Gins hand like a Parasite.
Gin struggles to try and remove the H but it is infusing with his body faster than with Aizen. Because the H accepts Gin due to his true purpose being the H.
So rangiku finds Gin screaming in the street clutching his hand as the H starts to spread up his arm and into his body. Rangiku tries to cut off Gin's arm, but the H has hardened his skin so her blade chips against his skin. She is desperate as Gin is in agony so she starts violently slashing at Gins arm trying to cut it off, but instead her Sword shatters.
Rangiku falls to her knees and The H begins to infect Gin like a Parasite, the power taking over as he rises to his feet and lashes out at rangiku.
Isshin, yoruichi and kiskake show up to fight Gin (instead of aizen)
And when they lose ichigo shows up just intimate to save Rangiku and defeat Monster Gin.
After his defeat Gin retreats to heucho Mondo to hid from Rangiku because he is permanently infused with the H meaning her can never give her what Aizen stole making him now a thief just like Aizen.
Gin hides in heucho Mondo and ichigo saves the day and the arc ends the same except Gin lives and Aizen dies as he should have.
