I have a a pair of Event Studio Precision 8 And JBL 308 6.5 My Events are of need of repair sad to say. I put the 308's up and the bass is to Smeary. Is the Kali tighter ? because my events are just that...... hard to tell from your room....................thanks
nice explanation, I already ordered 308p but i liked sound kali , they are more bass side.In other videos i found jbl 308 is more near to flat so i choose them . love from india ,,,,
That's what I saw here, and in my mixes I always felt I couldn't get the mid range to really shine. Hopefully the Kali's help with that! Thanks for watching!
seems like the jbl have no mids and the kali have boosted mids, not sure if i like either. not sure. I have the jbl 305p but I dont get great results in the bass. maybe its my room. im thinking about the yamaha hs8 now.
Sitting in the room I know fairly well, I didn't notice a huge bump in the mids when going to the Kali's but the clarity really made a big difference. I had the 305s before the 308s and I liked the mids better on them than the larger speakers, so you might be on to something. It sounds like you may need a sub or a larger speaker, but room acoustics are the most important factor! Thanks for watching!
@@redtonestudio2982 Also, if you squint, the IN-8s look like two-ways. And if you squint harder, the JBLs don't look like carp. Same same ;) I got the Kali's for a project studio. Have APS Klassiks at home, but the IN-8 v2s do punch above their weight. The build could feel sturdier, but for the price I'm fine with simple build, if they are reliable and the sound is great. Glad they reduced the Class D noise and removed the standby problem the originals have (the reasons I didn't buy the OGs). Kali are clever here, because there isn't to my mind a competitor for the Kalis anywhere near the price. Things like Focal Evo 65 are 2-way AND a bit compromised in the treble. Dynaudio Lyd 5 is much weaker. ADAM 3-ways are nowhere near this price. The JBL 305s, 306 and Adam T5V, T7V are still great value propositions though and do sit well enough in the ballpark of the Kali LP6s. Adam build quality feels a bit sturdier than Kali & JBL, if you don't hate the AMT tweeter (I kinda like it).
I really loved the subs from this JBL... but the highs were piercing lol.... I am into the IN-8 for a long time now.... maybe with the bass eq in dip switch will get my lows the way I like on the NI-8s
@@redtonestudio2982 Thats great to know! IN-5 is also an option, cause of lack of space, but having an 8-woofer is delicious, my HS8 sounds amazing on the subs. However, my LP6 have tighter bass (40-100hz) in my home studio. As I am selling everything and moving abroad, I'm really considering to get IN-5 or IN-8
@@redtonestudio2982 If you ever think of moving up a notch or two later in price, and don't mind two-ways, rather than three ways, I definitely recommend considering the APS Klassik 2020s, from Poland, at around 1200 a pair. I love my Kali IN-8 v2, but the APS Klassik 2020s do beat them slightly in some ways. They have tighter bass / while somehow deeper, they're louder, better built, and the soundstage and midrate is more open. HEDD Type 07s are a step up above that again too, at around 1800 a pair. Even so, I don't think the IN-8 v2 is significantly lacking compared to those, considering they cost 1/2 to 1/3 the price of those. They are more than 80% of the way there.

I would say the lows are a bit tighter but not significantly. I mostly noticed how much clearer the mid range was.
@@redtonestudio2982 Thanks 👍

Thanks for watching, I'm sure you'll be very happy with the 308s, they've done a good job for me!
I am curious how these stack against the LSR 4328
I would be curious as well, but I have no experience with them. If I am ever offered a set I'd love to shoot them out as well. Thanks for watching!
JBL LSR have always had recessed mids even in the nearfield.

It's not fair for JBL 308 (2-way) to compare with a 3-way Kali IN-8..😅😅
That may be true, but they are similar enough in price where some might consider one or the other. I know my pick. Thanks for watching!

I'm getting more than enough lows without a sub with these! Thanks for watching!

Kali - the best🎉
The best here anyway, I'm sure I could spend more and get better ones, but for now I'm happy. Thanks for watching!
