- Want to be up and running under 5 seconds? This video lays out the quickest and safest method for setting up your Light Dome III and Light Dome Mini III. Here, we show you three easy steps to get your modifier fully assembled.
Setting up your Light Dome:
1. Release the small latch to ease tension when pulling back clasp
2. Close the main clasp, pressing on the ground to reduce tension
3. Close the small clasp to complete setup
Disassembling your Light Dome:
1. Release the big latch, pressing on the ground to reduce tension

I appreciate that this costs the same as the Light Dome II. Thank you for not pretending this is some huge leap in technology that costs 30% more to manufacture.
Although the new version doesn’t have an inner baffle or a gel holder, just throwing that out there.
@@Danumalsmost of their lights are either bi-color or RGB capable already, so it’s no longer a thing to worry about but you do have a point to point it out

I just got the v3 and I think I prefer v2 more. I don’t like that I have to use the ground to assemble and disassemble this. I feel like overtime the front of the softbox will wear down and tear from rubbing on the ground depending if you are assembling on a rough surface from time to time. Also the v3 seems to not come with an inner baffle. Also no gel holder.

Can you Guys release a video comparing the Mini iii to the Mini SE ? What's setup time like?
Having got my hands on the Mini SE I can say it’s much faster and lighter than the v2.
- fewer rods to snap into/out of place
- easier snapping mechanism makes it easy to snap two off a time, not very stiff at all, more like a light switch.
- lighter materials and a Velcro tie to hold it together.
I’d say it’s fractionally slower than v3 but like by about literally 1-2 seconds at best.
Please update the Accessory Compatibility PDF to reflect the LD III and LDM III. Thanks. Will these two work with Amaran lights like the Amaran 200d?

Why does Apeture still not have a 120 (47 inch) cm parabolic softbox?
I picked one up. They are much bigger in person than I had realized. Not so easy to assemble. You have to pull the outside of the softbox down or else there is too much tension and you will never be able to close the latch. Additionally, I find that the velcro separates and it is not easy to align. Again, soft light, but it is HUGE.
what different parts do you need to purchase for a light dome set up? I nearly bought a light dome and thought it came with everything lol
Does the Light Dome III also come with the small 'inner' diffusor that is installed just before the lampopening?
Ours did not. We just received it and used it on a shoot. It has two different diffusions and honeycomb you can add to the front of it but it didn't come with the smaller inner diffuser. It does appear to have small loops inside the dome where one could be installed if you had one.
I bought a light dome ii litterally a week before this dropped... Is it possible to exchange?
generally you could return your item to the vendor. Doubt they would do it internally. Most shops offer 30day returns
No one has a video about what stand or grid i guess its called that i should get to set this light dome up. I have the dome, i just need to be able to set it on something.
Are you talking about the light that this modifier attaches to with the bowens mount or the grid that attaches to the front with the Velcro?
How many versions of the same size modifier are you going to make? We need a big boi version.

I always loved the quality of Aputure lights/softboxes but the only reason I a am not getting another lightdome again is that super ugly "lightDome III" lettering on the softbox..it just looks so amateuer and inconsistent from a design standpoint..Everytime I entered my youtube studio with the softbox installed I wanted to slap gaffer tape over it to hide it... it reminds me of how boomers would create a logo in microsoft word so please fire your graphic designer who did that and just add a sleek non-serif font that reflects the quality and professionalism of your products 😛

Every time I close the Dome iii I risk loosing someone’s eye or finger. That this fucking explodes when you pull the lever 😢
