I can imagine how Luke must have felt talking to his great-grandmother. My friend put some of my family photos through a programme to animate them. He surprised me with them. I started crying when I saw my late mum's. It was as if she had come to life.

I was skeptical of the use of AI at first, but the volume of letters makes this very believable. It really brings her alive. You have a gem here that will truly help support Mapperton and will not be something that others would be able to copy😢 easily. The volume of her letters makes this possible and others may not have a volume of information that is as representative as what you have. Very cool!

That AI is a 21st century American accent. Listen to old American movies to get an idea of what upper class American women in the early to mid 20th century sounded like.
The mid-Atlantic accent was invented as an affectation by many in the Northeast US and used widely in the entertainment industry. It’s a fascinating story.
P.S. do you think that the voice sounds like Christine McConnell whose RUclips channel is “From the Mind of Christine McConnell”?
I thought so as well. I would have expected a transatlantic accent more like Eleanor Roosevelt or Katherine Hepburn, even though Alberta was from Chicago. But the project is very well done. Congratulations!

Amazing.... I have spent a good portion of my life (I am now 41) passionately researching a few historical figures and this type of technology never occurred to me. Kudos to Luke for putting it together and refining the technology! If there are any others reading this comment who "love" history, you almost can't help but get a little emotional seeing Alberta interact in such an authentic way! Very inspiring to all of us who love history! I would love to see the exhibit in person! [I live in NC, USA] We'll see.... one day.... LOL
