@@JonIsJustTooLoud decided on the 000jr Streetmaster. Really enjoyed your review on that. Definitely considering these for it. It should help the smaller guitar be loader and brighter?
Hi again Johnathan, I just purchased that same guitar used, a 2017 on reverb. The action seems to high so I'll have to get that lowered. Glad to actually hear you play it and review the bridge pins. Love your arrangements
No way can I justify that kind of money on my HD-28. But if played even half as good as you their is nothing that could stop 🛑 me from getting them! I know what you mean when you say you feel it resonating through your body. I only get that with a couple of chords but it’s a feeling of oneness with the guitar 🎸! There’s nothing like it. ( well maybe love ❤️) thanks 🙏🏻
Just bought some to dress up my Taylor custom GC. The guitar deserves it and should add a unique and great look. I definitely hear a brightness and audible sustain increase. Looking forward to putting them on but I just hope they fit well.
I have a 1995 Martin D42 that I love. I think I’ll try a set. Who wouldn’t want an acoustic guitar with a little more sustain and clarity. Is it worth $150.00? After investing $6,000 in the D42 what is another $150.00. I have an Eastman E20-00-SB that is an incredible acoustic guitar that I may put a set in also. Both guitars have the K&K pickups so it will be interesting to see how they sound plugged in. Great Video!
I purchased K&K from Amazon but you can also get them on Reverb. They are about $100.00 and very easy to install. I have them in my D42, Eastman E20 and Fender mandolin. I have owned a Taylor 810ce/618/and 814 deluxe. I have have had the expression system I and II. I never liked them. I didn't seem to be able to get a true acoustic sound. I do with the K&K. It also helps that I play my acoustics through a Schertler Jam100 acoustic amp. They are expensive but the best acoustic amp I have ever used. There are no controls just the plug in the end pin. The directions for installation are quit good plus there are some RUclips videos that will help. Keep up the wonderful picking.
Hi Jonathan. Always pleasurable to listen to you play! I sit back, close my eyes and so enjoy Sir. Thank you for this video and all of your others. I bought 2 sets of the Red Dot Chrome ones and getting them installed next week as well as pick-ups, set-up and new strings in my D28 and M36 re-imagined I bought new. I can hear it listening to your guitar before and after. I have done research and I went for it. I can't wait to play them both when done. I have an excellent Luthier here in Indianapolis. He works his magic for everyone and will make your instrument play at its best. I play at home, with my Son and with friends. I just need to play more. Lol! My question to you is what strings you like on these two guitars. Your sound is excellent and I appreciate your input on this. I hope all is well and have a blessed day Brother!
I have installed brass bridge pins in almost all my acoustic guitars, including my 1977 Mossman Flint Hills, and I swear they are brighter, more lively. No way I'd pay $150 for these. I got some copper / brass ones from Amazon for $7 the set. The cheap ones sound just as good IMO.
Definitely hear a big difference. The metal was clearer with better sustain. Made the mahogany sound better balanced...not as boxy...Beautiful playing as well.
Superb review. Excellent playing. I purchased a set for a Martin OMCPA4-Rosewood. My reaction is the same as yours: more resonance, more sustain, a bit louder. I really liked the guitar with the standard pins; the liquidmetal pins do make it better. Are they worth $149? I can only say that I will purchase another set. Some seem to be embarrassed to have paid $149 for these pins. How much more would you have had to pay for a guitar that sounds as good as the one that now has the liquidmetal pins (I'll bet more than $149). Thank you!
The review, as always, is magnificent! 👍! I'm sorry, Jonathan, I have a question, off topic. Please advise what guitar to me, from inexpensive to get. Thinking between: Ibanez Gio GSA60-BKN (Indonesia), Epiphone Les Paul Special VE EB (PRC), Epiphon Les Paul Express EB (PRC)? Or look at something else? More expensive, until it turns out. I really hope for your advice!
My brass pins made my guitar sound softer. Doesn't all metal pins reduce volume in all guitars? In terms of loudest and most sustain, which material would you think is best?
Hi jon, just wondering if I should change out the tusq saddle and plastic pins on my hd28e for bone. I love the mids and highs but the lows are a bit too boomy/muddy. I fingerpick mostly and light strumming. Thanks
The one who has a guitar made of mahogany but prefers brighter, more open ( like rosewood or maple) sound - brass pins are way to go. It will surely bright up the sound a little (and sustain too). The other (and probably better, although more dramatic) way is shaving guitar braces.
no it will not, you just think it will :D close your eyes with a what ever and play 2 guitars one with "special price" pins and one with normal pins! there is no change also no change on the computer programm. same wave forms. its just in your mind ;)
Hi Jonathan, it is so great to hear your feedback on the liquid metal bridge pin. I was thinking buying it for my friend who owns a martin and love playing it. Would you recommend as a gift to a guitar player? I personally like the look and texture of it. Thanks!
The change is very subtle. It’s there but it’s not $150 different. You could change the strings and get more of a difference. I think it affects the sustain more than anything else.
did anyone ever tryed to find a jonathan koh on facebook?....iam scrolling for 3 hours now!!! :D how many are there???? oh and to disapoint you....the pins are not made of brass, its a metal mix, the cheapest sh... you can get! oh and its made in "ta ta taaaa" china. and really....ppl hyping that stuff like crazy. dont ppl see how companys sell you all kind of SH... "oh more sustain" "oh better sound" bullsh... the pin has no influence on how the string vibrates! the string rests on the bridge and the bridge is the only thing that could influence the string! the pins are basicly just "screws" that hold them in place...... nut, saddle and the wood + how a guitar is made influences the tone! not the pins, tuners or the full moon to harvest wood that is all BS.... how much nonsens is out there these days. but i like your playing :D

As foolish as it may sound I put these pins in my Martin Djr-10 and it sounds amazing.
Not foolish at all✌️❤️
I'm out here looking for comments to see if it fits my djr10. 😁 Will be buying it!
A beautiful melody brilliantly played. It's a great pleasure to listen to and see how you do it .
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the nice demo. Yah definitely makes the lower frequency to sustain longer and removes the boominess while strumming harder. God bless. 🙏
Yep it works.. stay safe ✌️❤️
Love your smoke. You have a beautiful arrangement and piece their Jon
Thank you kindly✌️❤️
Hmmmmm.... The strings sounded somewhat muted with the old pins.... It seems like a sound investment!
I got them for $100 in chrome instead of gold. I’m excited to try them out
Nice
Beautiful

Yes the guitar’s action was high when I got it.. had the bridge filed to bring it lower.. not too low as it will buzz when you strum hard 😜

I use brass pins. They make the sound better for sure. You can find other brands that are very reasonable. Around 20 us.
I did.. but they were too small 😊
I noticed the ones I use are a little small but I get them to work holding them in while tightening strings. It can be tricky.
