This isn't what totality actually looks like in person.
Nobody can capture the beauty of the shimmering corona on film. It shines like an actual piece of silver mirror while vivid colors are pulsating around the black hole in the sky ⚫ during a surrounding sunset.
The beauty is overwhelming to the senses ✨

One of these days there will be a VR simulation that accurately depicts a total solar eclipse; at least from a visual standpoint. But as it stands now you must see it with your own eyes to experience it. Pictures and video don't cut it.

Rare. Nobody else is talking about this. Love it. I had the telescope out last night. Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks is not bright enough to see naked-eye. It is a fuzzy ball in a 10:00 pm sky using 8-inch telescope. The brighter planets and stars will be visible, so take off the eclipse glasses. As always, use extreme care with telescope and binoculars in the sunshine, and never look directly at the sun for more than a glimpse.
