What an excellent video. Crisp, cogent and very specific. Perfect for understanding Canvas weights etc. Thank you.
Hello what weight would you recommend for quality totebags?
what weight would you recommend for making year round clothing for children? (live on a farm and regular clothing from the store gets holes in it too quickly)
Canvas can be a little stiff especially for children's clothing. Its a great price point though, so you could use between 7-12 oz. If you are looking for something that is a little more comfy, would probably recommend a really high quality linen instead of canvas. This would be my recommendation for children's clothing - www.onlinefabricstore.com/product-group-linen.aspx?product=belgian-linen
What weight would you recommend for tote bags? :)
I would recommend the 10oz fabric. You can find it here - www.onlinefabricstore.net/60-inch-single-fill-10-oz-duck-fabric-.htm
What canvas would you recommend for an overcoat?
Nice and short video 💕
What canvas would you recommend
for grill covers that are always outside?
I just got a few yards of canvas but it wrinkled tremendously when I washed it, I need it to make work pants. What oz should I be using?
Canvas is going to wrinkle a little when you wash it.. I would use #8 cotton duck (which is quite heavy but will make a great work pant if tailored appropriately!) You can find this material here - www.onlinefabricstore.com/no-8-natural-cotton-duck-fabric-.htm
What weight of canvas would you recommend for a grilling apron with pockets?
I would say a 10 or 12 oz canvas would be best for aprons! My personal preference would be 10 oz (www.onlinefabricstore.net/60-inch-single-fill-10-oz-duck-fabric-.htm) but 12 would not be too stiff.
Hi! What would you recommend for photography purpose to get digital prints on it?
You are looking in the right direction! Cotton fabric is the best for digital prints. I would say that you want the 7 or 12 oz. duck. You can find them here - www.onlinefabricstore.net/product-group-canvas.aspx
Thanks

Hey can someone explain the 7oz 10 oz thing?
That is the weight. The 10oz is going to be thicker than the 7
@@onlinefabricstore so is that better or the lighter one?
@@Jeeeeyyy21 It really depends on what you are using the canvas for!
@@onlinefabricstore I’m a medical student, I have no knowledge really. I wanted to paint with oil paint on the canvas that it.
@@Jeeeeyyy21 I would recommend another product! We have primed canvas, so it is ready to be painted on. You can find that here - www.onlinefabricstore.com/product-group-canvas.aspx?product=primed-canvas
I think this can better convince customers to buy your products
There are so many different weights of canvas it can be tricky to know what you need for your project! We want people to be the most informed they can be before purchasing!
Canvas is not cotton.
Canvas is a broad term that can be used for different types of fabric. It is typically made out of 100% cotton fibers but it can also be made out of synthetic fibers or a blend of cotton and synthetic materials.
@@onlinefabricstore The word "canvas" is derived from the 13th century Anglo-French canevaz and the Old French canevas. Both may be derivatives of the Vulgar Latin cannapaceus for "made of hemp", originating from the Greek κάνναβις (cannabis).[2][3]
canvas (plural canvases) (see usage notes)
A type of coarse cloth, woven from hemp, useful for making sails and tents or as a surface for paintings. quotations
@@onlinefabricstore straight from Wikipedia. And from a guy in this case me, that has 2 MSc . I’m sorry to be this guy that destroys all your thoughts and “knowledge” but I also known how usually they are referring to cotton fabrics. But this is not what canvas is . This is what they make a copy of canvas like, because cannabis as a material is restricted if not forbidden in many countries and that makes it pricier than the real thing and harder to find. But you’re making an educational video here, aren’t you?
