I remember playing this game at the pizza parlor when I was around 7 years old. I'm 41 now and I still love this game!
These game cabinet machines are like chickens teeth.. i so want to work at your shop.. i can work for credits to play on your outstanding collection of games machines.. keep up the amazing work.. #GREENEYEDMONSTER
Thanks Stephen we appreciate it!
My book on the complete history Rygar was just released! In the book I included images of the RIGAR cabinet, that Joe's Classic Video Games were nice enough to supply me. Grab your copy of the book at RygarBook.com
I was 14 years old when this game came out and I lost my mind over it and was down at the local pizza bar when ever I could get my 40 cents together for a game....
Looks like that this cabinet was originally used in 1985's Pinball Action, also by Tehkan, according to this pic:

I'm surprised that there was also a dedicated version of Pinball Action. Also, both Rygar and Pinball Action shared the same Tehkan-class pinout.
I think that this could be an early version of the marquee, as well as the instructions for it.
Thanks Jim, that looks right to me!
So this was what I lived on as a kid, as you can tell from my icon.
Very cool Geoff, great game!
Me too! The local 7 Eleven down at the corner of my street in Dallas was owned by a huge Conan the Barbarian/Boris Vallejo fan and he had this cabinet along with Golden Axe and Tecmo Knight(aka wild fang)...I got to be buddies with him since my mom would let me go down the street to the corner store "arcade" and eventually he just let me play for free. I spent so much time in there.
Enjoy 😉

My all time favourite!!!!
Have you ever seen it in a cabinet like this, or do you remember?
@@LyonsArcade Actually no never seen one like this before....
Estou completando a restauração do meu gabinete de Rygar; Eu realmente gosto deste jogo.
I remember that this particular machine was distinguished from other arcades by its sound and music. This one had a beautiful deep bass when hitting enemies.
My dad used to own an arcade business in the 90s and he would play this and show off . He passed away . Good memories
Watching this again... I'm pretty sure this marquee is unique, 'Ligar' is the name of the boss at the end, maybe the translation went to Rigar before Rygar. Perhaps the conversion kit came with this marquee and instructions card before the thing went into mass production with full artwork. What is the serial number on the board? The Tehkan sticker. (Mine original board is 33708)
I loved this game.
I spend hours on this one in the game Hal
Most underrated nes game ever
I always liked it. So hard though.
My favourite all time arcade game 😍
Great game one of my arcade faves :)
You must be a sucker for punishment! HARD game!
Tough game but great fun.
Yes sir!
I want to buy this
Unfortunately we already sold it!
The FCC won't let me be or let me -be- me so let me see
Shhh, they'll hear you :)
7:40 isn’t the japanese name "Argus no Senshi"?
Sounds right... but I don't know Japanese :)
@@LyonsArcade Ligar was the big bad in the Japanese version (and I think the NES as well) and technically the hero is just callrd "Legendary Hero" with the end boss being Ligar/Rigar...to make more sense of the spelling the Japaenese character for L and R is the same for the alphabet this game was using so Ligar/Rigar basically the same translation.
Best arcade game ever!
awesome!
Thanks!
Foo foo
How much ?
Digging that cab!!
Yeah, it's cool....
Subbed.. you guys are class....
Thanks Stephen we appreciate it :)
nicely kept and clean
The white ones always look cool :)
The company went from Tehkan to Tecmo and my stupid brain turns it into Techmoan...
That’s a great RUclips channel
That British dude has all sorts of cool stuff from the 70’s & 80’s!
Excelent, but Rygar or Rigar?
Only the Shadow Knows!
great game.. bye
Thank you Rigo!
Rigo B good!
The remake of this game for PS2 was pretty good too
I think we've got that over on the shelf right now.
ps2? i only know for x68000
the ps2 remake is that 3d thing? that was disastrous, no hidden tips and tricks at all... it looks and feels more as Super Mario 3d World...
