Sonic Mania Plus arrives July 17th! Special thanks to Nathan Barnatt for joining us in this 90's inspired twist on a classic SEGA commercial!

It's good to see Sega pointing out *actual* flaws in gaming rather than promoting "blast processing." Heck, it's good to see a company like this have the guts to go against an entire gaming genre. Specifically the cookie-cutter FPS games with $60 price tags and about $500 DLC (not including lootcrates). It's ridiculous.
@rerunturbografx Not exactly. Genesis was realy worse than the SNES in hardware, but Sega had a master programmer on their hands. The guy created an algorithm that extracted every single bit of power of the console. Nintendo had brute power but Sega had optimization.

As a 90's kid I wholeheartedly approve of this ad. Throwing shade at other companies and their business practices in and out of said games (EA, GameStop in particular) is just perfect.

Honestly, this was great! It really captured the cheesy 90s commercial acting and I love that you guys poked fun at lootboxes and FPS.

And then they shoved Denuvo so far up its ass that it lags the recommended specs and LIED to their customers about it. Hey SEGA, I'm not buying SMP until you remove Denuvo. It's already been cracked, for god's sake.

Yeah, I totally remember watching that old commercial with "Sonic The Hedgehog" being compared to "Super Mario World", and it was really hard for me to decide which of those two games I liked most because they were both awesome and fun to play...and they still are! :D

Ya know, that’s a pretty rad commercial. Also, so proud of you guys for the shade throw, that was golden! And this is why I held out on Mania, because I had my hunches that you guys would make additions to the cast and I wanted to see what you do. Also, just as a side note, I really appreciate the price. As a college student, I’ve had to really cut into my gaming budget, and as such I have to scrimp around for cheaper titles (or slightly older ones) and this saves me a ton. Plus, I love Sonic so, yea. He, Spyro, and a couple others really made up my childhood gaming experience. Two of my earliest games were Sonic Heros, and Sonic Mega collection plus. Honestly, if you guys could maybe branch out a bit with the hedgehog engine, and really open up some with Modern Sonic, y’all’d be in business. I’m tempted to ask if you guys would be open to a sales pitch for an Idea but I know you guys are probably immensely busy. At any rate, keep up the good work, and keep things going at Sonic speed!

There is one fan game they’ve “mostly” stayed away from, project m the hack of brawl. Basically the developers lawyer warned em of what could happen if they kept developing it, not Nintendo. Other than that, far as I know the last build before that is still being played at tournaments and still pretty balanced and stable anyway

Sega's great at that. Nintendo also made fun of the "brown is real" trope before in "Super Paper Mario," and also in Super Smash Bros. with a gritty brown edgy wasteland recreation of level 1-1 of the original SMB.
