That looked like a fun day out and good to see my old haunts. Don't know if you know but, back around 2005/6 ish a chap on holiday bought his nipper the cheapest "kiddy rod and reel" set up he could find and went to fish Stone Pier, eneded up catching a 15, yes 15 lb Bass landed with help from other anglers.
It really was a fun day mate, lots of laughs 🙂 wow really? That's an incredible fish on any gear! 😮

Nice one! Glad the event went well. I was in Wales at time and like you couldn't get away from the corkwings. Had hundreds of them over the two weeks! Still a hand-sized male has to be one of the most stunning fish out there.
Cheers mate. Yeah the corkwing seem particularly aggressive at the moment. Not complaining though, as you say, they are a stunning fish and good little scrappers 👍🎣

I live in Weymouth mate, fish the same spots in this video, but still haven't had a bloomin dragonet.....yet!

Haha, im sure you'll get one at some point mate. You may already know this but i find you have to fish your lure tight to the deck for dragonet, they don't like coming up for it. Carolina or split shot rig is usually my choice when targeting dragonet 🎣
