    Thank you for checking out this weeks video. In the video today I take a look at the xTool D1 Pro 20 watt Laser Cutter and show some of the simple projects I have been able to complete in a very short time.
    The xtool Laser Cutter is great quality, and has provided problem free cutting and engraving since the beginning. I've played around with a bunch of different projects with laser cutters now, and I've yet to find anything the D1 pro 20w Cutter can't handle with ease.
    I highly recommend getting yourself an xtool Laser Cutting Bed, as well as the xtool Laser Cutter Hood & Extraction to compliment any laser cutter you purchase, as they have prooven to be high quality, necessary equipment for safety, and better results.

    Thanks everyone for watching. Xtool have been great to deal with and very patient with me in getting this sponsored video out. It's been a great machine to work with and the additions have all been of an equally high quality. If you have any questions or suggestions about laser cutting and engraving, please leave a comment below. Cheers.

      Thank you Sarah. I've really enjoyed the amount of your own creativity you can add to simple 2d laser cut projects to really make them into something unique. They are fun to play with, and this one has had no issues at all.

      Haha, go for it, I have had nothing but fun with this thing since I unpacked it. The xtool stuff I've used over the past couple of months has been awesome. Even though xtool sent me the machine and air assist, I ended buying the laser bed and hood myself on the back of the quality of their machine. Good luck, let me know if I can answer any questions you have.

    What a fantastic opportunity. So glad you're getting a bit of income. That seems a really nice machine. I've got a 5W, and really like it. I will be upgrading, to a 20W or higher, at some near future point. Thanks for showing us some of the possibilities

      Thank you for watching and commenting! The stronger laser does make quite a bit of difference to the speed and quality of the cuts, so it's well worth the upgrade. Cheers.

      Thank you mate. I have to say that after playing around with the 3d printer, the laser cutter feels a lot easier when it comes to waiting for something to finish. It all comes down to number of lines and details etc. but you can really smash out a bunch of things in a day if you aren't doing full size engravings or tons of tiny cuts. Makes for some productive days in the workshop when you need them.

    • @benjaminjack867

      @@RFDHobby man I feel that 3d printer burnout right now. I'm printing out floor tiles for a space hulk board and it's been running round the clock for weeks. I'll bet the laser cutter would make short work of something like that

    You can get much cheaper air assist and honeycomb than xTool.😉 Great ideas. Good luck.

    • @RFDHobby
      @RFDHobby  Год назад +1

      Absolutely. I only recommend you have both a hood and exhaust setup regardless of the type of laser cutter you go with. These machines are usually marketed without either of these things, but I wouldn't use a laser cutter without them. Thanks for watching and commenting. Take care and all the best Jake.

    Shawn, glad to see you are getting back on your feet slowly, after the heart attack, then the fire. Looks like you are feeling better also, as the last heard was you were quite ill and had left the yard maintenance. Also, you will have to add your shop site, so others can purchase your work for more support!

    • @RFDHobby

      Thank you Kurt. It has been a pretty rough ride for a while now, I'm still working through new and unexpected challenges, but I'm just trying to roll with the punches until everything settles down and I can start making plans for my future. Hopefully I'll be more consistent here too. As for the shop, unfortunately that is shut down for now, just due to my inventory being destroyed and most of my woodworking machinery being stored at the old workshop. I'll get it all back up and running again, it's just a long road out of this mess apparently. Thanks for the comment mate. Take care and all the best.

    OOOOOH, that's coooool. I do stencils with my FDM printer. That glass etching though😮😍 you could make some really cool infinity mirrors.
    Price point is NOT terrible because you could definitely take this machine and create a business with it. XTools gonna be getting a customer from me.... When I'm not broke😝🤣

    • @RFDHobby
      @RFDHobby  Год назад +2

      Thanks Lue, I'm going to be trying out some stencils soon. I had hoped to get some done for the video, but there's so much stuff coming out of that machine once you start playing around, it's just hard to film and include it all haha.
      I can't fault this machine so far at all, I ended up buying the hood and laser bed from xtool on the back of the quality of the machine they sent me, so I'd recommend it if budget allows. Having said that, you can get away with other cheaper options and still create amazing stuff (the Ortur 10w Laser from my previous video also performed really well), so keep that in mind as well. Take care mate.

      @@RFDHobby creality offers a laser setup for my Ender 3's, but I've never been into it because I'd have to switch back and forth. I feel like a dedicated unit like this would be way better and it's got that *UMPH* that the little guys don't have.

      I haven't tried much yet, as it's fairly expensive. I hear that clear acrylic is a no go, but the coloured stuff should work fine. If I pick some up I'll do a quick video on how it went. Thanks for watching and commenting mate.

      @RFDHobby  Год назад +2

      There D1 pro settings page on the X-tool website for acrylic. You might be thinking of clear acrylic, my understanding is it won't work with clear, but is effective on colored acrylic. I also could be wrong :)

    Can you use an iPad to control the xTool D1 pro 20W

    • @RFDHobby
      @RFDHobby  Год назад +2

      I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I think the limitation might be trying to run the software you want to use. I know some laser cutters have apps you can use to create and send simple text and shape commands to the laser cutter, but these were still very limited on the last laser I used this on (Ortur Laser Cutter). I would just check the X-tool (or which ever Laser vendor) website and see if these features have been updated on current models. I hope this helps.
