I was an absolute HATER towards One Piece for over ten years, everyone kept telling me to watch it and I thought it looked childish and lame so I avoided it for so long. But a friend finally convinced me to watch it and....holy. freaking. COW. It genuinely is one of the best anime I have ever seen.

The "We Are" Version with the 7 people singing was indeed the Voiceactors of the crewmembers. The last "We are" Version with the updatet graphics was for the celebration of the 1.000st Episode. It was so amazing to see the very first opening so many years later to celerbrate that moment!

I think this is the best theorizing I've seen for One Piece by openings alone. A lot of the points, although not exact, were very close to the actual plot.

The reason for the show to be called One Piece is actually quickly explained in 4Kids intro.
Gold Roger was the King of the Pirates, he had attained wealth, fame, power, and all the world had to offer, before he was publicly executed, his last words were "If you want my treasure, you can have it, you'll just have to find it on the Grand Line. I left everything I own in ONE PIECE." He died laughing as he sparked a new age of piracy. Nobody knows exactly what the One Piece is, and nobody has found it for over 2 decades in the story.
The audience has only been given hints here and there about what it is, and there's been wild speculation amongst the community.

Oda (the author of one piece) is a monster at storytelling, it's insane. He never forgets stuff, so you can see something in the ep 3 that only makes sense 500 eps later, the world building is amazing, the character development is great for even secondary characters. You guys should totally watch. Great reaction +1 subscriber
alright calm down oda fanboy. he's definitely a good writer, but he definitely makes mistakes and tries to override them by incorporating them in the story because he didn't plan on writing one piece for so long. he has also made bad choices over the years, but overall it's top quality work.

Oda is a genius. One Piece is my fav story ever, but it's not perfect. It has more than a few flaws. Which is absolutely fine, he is a genius but first he is human.

Before the pirate king died he told everyone he left all his treasure in one place. Later being called The One Piece, the elusive treasure that if a pirate claims it, the will be considered the next Pirate King. It has been roughly 26 years since the pirate king gave himself up.

Glad you picked up on the outfit changes some people take that stuff for granted a lot! It's super frequent in One Piece, sometimes they'll change daily and sometimes its on an arc-by-arc basis, and its always drippy lol. One time a character picked up a random article of clothing during a journey and it then wore it for a long time and it eventually ended up having actual significance to the plot which blew my mind, you just don't see that a lot. It's nice that along with favorite characters you can have favorite outfits of theirs lol
the way u guys got so many things right or quite right is like insane, you're rly attentive to detail and truly pay attention when reacting and i loved that! having someone with fresh eyes to this be so interested and sometimes so on point with things is refreshing since i cant watch this for the first time again myself

Insane how you create so amazing theories that are partially true. The best and most deep first type reaction I've seen!
you guys seem so appreciative, open-minded and genuinely interested in the world, character and story overall that your vibe was infectious. i just want you guys to know that one piece is beyond anything you can imagine when it comes to mindblowing story-telling. it has been the king of shounen for 25+ years and for very good reasons. it literally never disappoints anyone who actually watches/reads it. not to push it onto you guys but just putting out there -- the one piece fandom is one of the most dedicated community and we ride hard for new people picking up the show to this day. if you guys would decide to start watching it you'd find a solid audience with it. and yes, even though it's so long! :D
Opening 24 (Paint) is really good. It not as energetic and crazy as the other openings but if you know what's happening on the Anime you'll appreciate it more. It really shows and feels like an interlude to a great arc. But my favorite is still "We Fight Together", it still neve fails to make me tear up.
Honestly my favorite is 22 in Over the Top. I know it was controversial because it spoiled like 50 episodes or so. But as a manga reader since around Punk Hazard it didnt bother me as much. I think it did the best job at essentialy hyping up both Luffy as a Main character as well as Kaido as a Villian.
13 will always be my favorite. Love 3 and 24 tho

I absolutely did not know what I clicked on, but I was pleasantly surprised by both of your reactions. Super genuine and I loved your curiosity and theory crafting throughout the whole video. You asked really great questions and sometimes answered them on your own just through picking up on stuff in the openings to come.
I can definitely tell you would both like One Piece from a story/content standpoint of view. Viewing quality would be a different thing tho, 1000+ episodes and sometimes real iffy pacing and quality drops can make it hard to watch and I would definitely understand it if you were to say you'd not watch it just because it has 1000+ episodes alone haha, but still for me personally the good moments overweigh the lows without a question.

Red Line is the one continent they have in their world, which rings ALL THE WAY around the planet like a Prime Meridian. As for the Grand Line, it's a stretch of sea that acts kinda like the equator, with the second half being more dangerous than the first. Also, Franky isn't quite a robot. But he IS a cyborg.

The author keeping track of every character and that those character are usually significant to the story is one of the reasons I have respect for the author. It actually is the greatest anime and story of all time. Give it to a professor in storytelling at a university and he/she would probably agree.

I don't know if anyone already mentioned it, but opening 7 is indeed sung by the crewmembers aka voiceactors themselves. Some fun facts: there are MORE then a 1000 anime episodes, 1000 manga chapters and 1000 named characters in the serie. Most important characters are designed from real life people. You both had some really good speculations so I hope you will go watch the show and find out which ones you've gotten right x3.

The currency and the bounties are rooted in the pirate era of the 1700s. It is in Yen, the japanese currency and then you have to use the inflation calculator. For example if somebody has 30 mill bounty it would be 224,222.90 US Dollars today. Then use the inflation calculator and you see the money was worth more back in the Caribbean 1700s days

V3 is sang by TVXQ, who made the next opening just after v3 (plus from that point, the studio dropped doing endings going instead for longer OP
V4 for ep1000 is full remake of V1 with same style and layout mimicking original one, while encompassing all current crew members and present antagonists with best that new graphic style could offer
P.S. the one with golden bug was showing in version with credits just under title screen

A lot of your theories are a fraction of accuracy but, the funniest part, is you trying to guess what the one piece is when several of the theme songs literally start with the narrator telling you what it is! every time, you would talk about the narrator or the scenes in the background and not listen to the words he was saying😂

Great observation. One Piece is one of the few anime where most of the cast ACTUALLY CHANGE CLOTHES REGULARLY like normal people.
This was a really fun video to watch due to how much time you spent on theories after EVERY opening

So One Piece is well over 1000 episodes long. So if you want to watch it, you have to be prepared to spend a lot of time with it. But that being said, the series is well worth it. A lot of people like to hate on it for being too long, but just think for a moment, the fact that it's long allows for so many amazing stories to take place in this world. Most of which build up on top of each other to create this huge meticulously designed world that's so great you can easily get lost in it. While the main goal may be to find treasure, in order to find the treasure they must first sail across many different seas and as one would expect, of course there would be so many different things to experience in each and every island they visit.
It's not my favorite series. It definitely has some pacing issues, an abundance of flashbacks, and a bit of filler which can occasionally get annoying, I do highly recommend this series. Once you get to the 200's and the Ice Guy from Opening 5 appears, the show goes from being pretty good/great to legendary. That's truly when you start to feel things building on top of each other to great this legendary story.
I honestly believe that One Piece could be the most influential work of fiction of our generation.

In one piece even NPC got new outfit, the protagonist Luffy is the only anime character in history that featured on front page of fashion magazines, he might not the most handsome characters in anime world but he is the most fashionable character in shonen anime history . There is a RUclips video that showing all Luffy outfits and it 5 min long and for the orange girl it 8 minutes long video just to show her every outfits.

The skeleton's power WAS an extra life. Now, it's "not dying".
18:49 : Tony Tony Chopper has eaten the devil fruit of human, so as a deer he could talk and walk like human. And he learn so different transformations for having more power in depend of the situation (Speed/Strengh etc..). His wish is to became an human. In One Piece, they are many devil fruit with different power. There are 3 types Zoan (Link to animals) / Logia (Link to an element like Fire/light/wind etc..) and Paramecia (all the other like Luffy who ate the devil fruit of Gum gum. I can assure you that the giant creature with the chair is NOT a robot. It's a ginormous zombie. The chair is for its master to sit in amd command it because it's stupid. And not in the lame sense.
One cool thing about the powerscaling in one piece, you don't need a power to be strong, one of the strongest one piece characters has no powers at all.

Man, what appears in the openings is not always LITERALLY what happens in the anime, generally yes, but Scenes where they are fighting in the air, appearing underwater or covered in auras of lights are only to give drama and epicity to the openings, other times They are scenes that function as metaphors for moments in the series, and other times they put scenes that DO happen, they do it to make the openings crazier/creative and avoid spoiling people about what is happening. But yes, there are scenes that show the characters well, their powers, their routines and the plots generally, and the world of One Piece is full of fanciful and extravagant things, not all the characters that appear are part of the crew, some They are allies, enemies, rivals, pirates, marines, bounty hunters, the goverment, ect, it is a very big world and with too many characters and too many crazier powers
