Uh, you should close the lid of the toilet before flushing. Tons of germs released into the air with or without violent splash. Germs land on floor, wall, toothbrush, towels, etc.... think about it.
toilet seat is not air tight, those tons of germs release into the air regardless and you breath it in while lowering and raising the cover again and again
