  • An actual student learning the first technique of energy management (also called a low approach) over the runway. This is the first step in MASTERING landing technique before the wheels ever touch the ground. This snapshot in time is when the student has learned the low approach to a reasonable level , practices this technique for and starts the power off approach and landing . This Part 2 is is the actual the progression from Low Approach, too Low Approach Landings and finally the first Power Off Landings.
Critical to mastering all Weight-Shift Control Trike Landings is Energy Management, the use of speed and power to maintain energy levels for safe and precise flying near the ground and ALL landings.

Thanks for sharing Paul. I miss those early days of learning to land and how all of a sudden it just begins to work. Hope to see more vids of his progress to solo.

Takeoffs are Optional... Landings are Compulsory... fly that sucker by the seat of your pants and have fun. Altitude is your friend, hardpack Desert not so much. Thanks for posting

Is there a reason the student is Not trying to touch down on the runway numbers??? Just sayin'

Typically aircraft touch down on the landing lines. It is safer so they do not come up short and have a problem. We have a 6000 foot runway here.
